I tend to forget that Eobard is not just an asshole but an actual completely villainous murdering ass, byebye Rex, the list of people I want to punch Eo in the face is steadily growing (Stein and Cait were first in line but a gorilla punch from Amaya would be nice)
While we’re on Amaya I’m totally side eyeing the romance they’re trying to build there with Ray and really hoping this won’t be the case bc making her Kendra’s remplacement to that level would be just, plain, Bad, stop it writers, can’t we have another lady on the show without making her a romantic interest? Is that really too much to ask from you CW?
I was glad for the quality family bonding time with Nate and his gramps, also the whole you don't have to be a soldier to be a hero thing, and how they keep putting on the line that yeah he's a historian but he's a badass historian too, it's esp great when watching that with Ester bc HEY LOOK ESTER YOU RE A HERO TOO
Other things I liked a lot: EOBARD'S LOOK JESUS THAT OUTFIT AND HAIRSTYLE WORK GREAT ON HIM that wasn't going to be what I typed there gdi but while we're at it anyway, why doesn't he dress up all nicely when he goes to deal with Bar and Flash team too huh? Come on make an effort there Eo, ok the suit is part of the whole Reverse Flash business and all but come onnnn ((& Ester mentioned Len first so damn her but those two standing in leather jackets side by side smirking at Bar hello yes please & Ester mentioned shopping for matching squad outfits and I’m Laughing, dramatic assholes need their black leather jackets))
So other things I liked a lot²: Stein actually realizing for himself without that much probing from the others that he wasn't suited to be in charge, and the way he gave the title to Sara ("the beating heart and steady hand" yES), the way Sara was obviously such a good captain that it barely needed to be mentioned, & Jax looking out for Grey and calling him on his bullshit with kind words like goddamn son you're too perfect
Also:
Sara's freckles & her believing in Ray and him having a plan;
her outfits always;
Ray actually using a microscope to beat up someone and save himself;
the Sara&Mick rescue of Amaya&Ray bc those four would make a REALLY nice team;
Jax's everything;
everyone's faces when Stein sang Edelweiss (and thanks Space for giving me some culture background on p much all the references I always miss bless you);
the team fighting not depending all that much on Mick's gun (and him taking the first shot in that battle)(and Sara calling him away from the flames);
Ray's quick thinking saving Nate;
& also Nate, I really like Nate;
Amaya's complete chill at Gideon's general existence;
that they made it p clear that the team doesn't need to be as much of a well oiled machine as the JSA and that all they need is direction to be just as awesome really;
the little scene in that cage with the team and Sara and Jax pushing at each other and everyone being their darling disfunctional family selves;
the little awkward shuffle when Rex called Stein captain;
Sara dwarfing herself So Obviously next to Stein;
((& i guess Ray absolutely refusing to do the nazi salute and actually punching the nazi in the face when he insisted bc i would have been quite mad at any other alternative & Ray is really endearing in times like these))
Also thanks for the confirmation that Sara blames herself for Len's death ouch, I hope that they won't make all mentions of him go through Sara and they don't play what they had as a Big Romance bc it really was not........ & on that note the episodes synopsis (link) so far focus on p much everyone but Mick so I do hope we get something with him too & hopefully they adress things about you know him having been Chronos and him being saved by / losing his partner bc hello????
I had other things to say but I forgot welp, that episode wasn't all that great as a whole? it had nice scenes but overall I feel a bit meh? Idk I didn't like it all that much but it might have to do with 1. the jsa being so overwhelmingly, well, american justice i guess, 2. freaking nazis as villains u r g h, and 3. i guess this was a bit of a bridge/transition episode from one point to the next and things that needed to happen and be settled before getting to the rest soooo might be why it wasn't quite all that interesting

⚡⚡⚡ that ep was freaking brilliant and everything i wanted and mORE and so intense, so much happened???? i didn’t expect them to do the whole flashpoiint in One ep but it worked so well and i’m delighted, it was the perfect combination and balance of fun and cute, and PAIN, and as usual watching with ester is such a freaking delight bless you so much and thank you for dragging me into this show with you i am so happy <3333333
⚡⚡⚡ matt letcher was fanfuckingtastic, he already was from the little we’d seen of him so far, but he was So Brilliant and everything in Eobard’s manerism and speech patterns and cadence and actions and lines delivery and the mocking and the anger and the E V E R Y T H I N G god he was BRILLIANT holy damn & as ester said he’s such a cool guy on social media as well and his twitter is so great and he’s so fun and kind i’m??? bless him & of course everyone else did great too and it was nice to see more of grant playing fun even if he’s so good at playing pain but, matt takes the cake on this one, A HUGE CAKE
⚡⚡⚡ bless he number of parallels this episode had, aside from the reversing (im gonna abuse this verb idc) the tornadoes and joe pulling his gun on the villain and barry reveal thing and “weather wizard”, i squealed, i liked the eobard and barry ones best tho AND THE SHOW KEEPS PARALLELING THEM AND REVERSING THEIR SITUATIONS ((screams)) they are perfect reverse and yes it keeps poking at us like HEY LOOK HOW SIMILAR THEY ARE and god i’m a sucker for that ((more screams)), the line about how long people can go without food that barry delivered to eo jUST like EO did to eddie back in S1, and then the parallels between the beginning of the episode, barry picking eobard up and dragging him through time and then eo having to do the same at the end of it “today i get to be the hero” ((jesus fuck save me))
⚡⚡⚡ literally every scene with eobard and barry was brilliant they always are but they REALLY were SO MUCH, “meeting a friend for dinner” oh bar, also eo likes curly fries and this somehow is a very important fact and also i wouldn’t have expected good taste from looking at your suit, “our common enemy, time” and that scene has eo angry and barry amused (as much as he can be i guess) and smug, AND THE NEXT IT S FRICKING REVERSED GODDAMNIT and godddd “go to hell” “you’re dragging both of us there” shitshitshit aND i want to know so much more than some hand off mentions about “the you i know, from the future” cOME O N, AND THEN HE CALLED HIM BAR HE FREAKING CALLED HIM BAR AND WE SQUEAKED BUT WHO DIDN T HE CALLED HM B A R, “i am the answer man, all you need to do is ask barry” and gOD isn’t that true every time bar asked he answered every tme he just can’t wait for bar to come and ask him clever stuff and figure out stuff EVEN BEFORE HE LIVED ALL THE MENTORSHIP, and we all knew of course he’d want barry to actually say the words and ask him to kill his mom and god he’s such an asshole but he’s such a brilliant character and i’m gushing again but that scene, these scenes, the whole episode and their whole relationship is such!!!! an amazing thing!!!! it’s a freaking delight to watch no matter how much it hurts the more there is the happier i am!!!!! they’re so ambiguous in everything and they are undeniably so bonded despite the hate they have for each other they rely so much on one another and it kills me every damn second i spend thinking about it, i am probably buzzing way too much about the fact that despite everything aND his “i wish i could kill you” line just seconds, minutes before, he didn’t drag barry with him in the room when he went off to murder nora again, i really wasn’t looking forward to how that’d be for bar to have to watch that AGAIN, BUT HE DIDN T HAVE TO AND EOBARD DIDN T MAKE HIM and now he’s back and this is great and “see you soon” YES

⚡⚡⚡ i want to know how come no one realized that three months ago barry suddenly got very different you can’t tell me he was the exact same as his “past” self was in the flashpoint timeline but all we get is that he’s more touchy huggy??? no one at work or his parents noticed anything else different??? SEEMS UNLIKELY ((also the new captain who was he and where were eddie and singh tell meeee))
⚡⚡⚡ one way to tell for sure that this timeline was indeed the product of barry’s interfearence and thus sortof his creation was HOW FREAKING ADORABLE EVERYONE WAS WHAT THE HELL seriously they were all the sweetest dorks it was almost painful to watch how fluffy it was ((mosostly because IT WASN T GONNA LAST AND WE ALL KNEW IT fuck everything)) barry himself was back to his adorkable little nerdy blabbly pie and it felt like a balm to the heart ((even if the wallet thing, dude, no)) and him keeping tabs on wally even before knowiing who he was that was super sweet, and just How Happy he was about everything and everyone he was so full of pure joy and love it was great while it lasted
⚡⚡⚡ but really wally was brilliant and the cutest and so cocky and it fit him so well and he and iris being this team as so great i wish we’d seen more of it, i also really liked the rival dude and he was just as cocky and he seemed such a fitting, well, rival for lack of better word for wally!!! and the allens were the freaking cutests freaking hell ((the graduation picture!!!!)) ((and the goodbye scene dear god that wrecked me but the fact that bar went for a proper goodbye and got it and got to have peace IS SO IMPORTANT AND I AM SO GLAD “there’s nothing to be afraid of, i promise” SCREECH)) and CAIT SWEET CUTIE CAIT JEEBUS “have I been kidnapped?” “unclear” BLESS YOU and she was so chill about everything going on (that pun was not on purpose but i’m owning to it now) and just helps them??? i guess she is used to working with children? :)) and how bar before going to get her was all well duh this is why this isn’t working this team building thing we’re missing her of course now it’s all good, bless you bar :)))))
⚡⚡⚡ iris and bar were super cute too, tho “your parents?” “alive and well” ouch, and one more parallel reverse with Her having to dash out on a meeting with a fumbly excuse, i loved that! also that she talks about “your iris” to barry and that they made it quite clear that she’s not the same despite everything and that the romance here would only have been an echo of the old timeline and they aknowledged that and i was so glad for it ((& for nora’s little off hand mmention of stalking bc i was v wary on how they’d treat this as perfectly romantic)) & that scene with the mic on the comms and how ((as ester said)) it parallels with eobard’s encouragements ((like p much all such scenes in S2)) aND shiT i’m weak for bar and his Important People and how much strength they give him no matter what ((and YES eobard definitely makes that list)) and on that note how important it is for barry that he is the flash and how much that gives him strength too especially when his Important People tell him “you’re the flash” with convinction like he can do anything and god take my keyboard away from meeeeee
⚡⚡⚡ also cisco was amazing and so different too but so great??? too bad the fact that cisco obviously had been vibing wasn’t adressed but nvm & i wish we’d know more about how he met the wests and why he made the suit and all but goddd he was great, and the freaking music intro was, perfect, also that bar started forgetting his memories of him right after iris made me go WAIT DOES THAT HE MEAN HE S SECOND MOST IMPORTANT ABOUT IRIS bc if you take it as he forgetting by priority of importance that’d make iris then cisco then him being the flash and godddddd fuck yes tho i’m 98% sure i’m reading too much into that one STILL i’ll fangirl anyway, and on that note i was really afraid that bar would forget these memories for good and always bc that’d break my heart those were too important for him to ever lose them no matter what
