Mommy brunch for all the mommie&me teams
There’s nothing better than meeting new Swifties that are as friendly and as genuine as you imagined. I fell in love with all these ladies and gentleman this past weekend in NYC! @taylorswift REPping our 13s!
And here's the stage door video from Saturday of me giving Armie his peach gummies, birthday card and showing him my tattoo. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Here's some live photos from Thursday when I went to the play the first time. The first one is when Armie says he remembers me then the second is me saying "I'm shaking" and the last two are Armie writing out my tattoo
Just booked tickets to Dear Evan Hansen for Susan, GLP, and me next week on Thursday. I’ve been to a play on Broadway (Our Town with Helen Hunt in the late 80s) but never a musical.
We looked at To Kill a Mockingbird and that was pretty spendy.
Spontaneous neck tattoo in Chinatown.
It’s Friday!
Here is a list of some fun activities to enjoy this weekend.
Free Events at Apollo Theater: Celebrate Black History Month with free events at the iconic Apollo Theater. A festival of film and music on Saturday afternoon gives a nod to Apollo artists like Nina Simone and James Brown with performances by Chris Rob, NeNe Ali and more. On Sunday, there will be a screening of the feature-length documentary “The Black Panthers: Vanguard of the Revolution.”
Picasso Sculpture and Frank Stella at Whitney: Both shows end Sunday, February 7 2016. This is your last chance to check out the 140 Picasso sculptural works dating from 1902-1964 at MoMA and the hypnotic Frank Stella Retrospective at Whitney.
Chinese New Year: Through July 24.The Met rings in the Asian New Year with this small exhibit featuring depictions of monkeys in painting, ceramics, metalwork, jade carving and more, such as this Quing Dynasty porcelain saucer.
Coney Island Exhibit: Through March 13th. The Brooklyn Museum embraces one of the borough’s most vibrant landmarks in “Coney Island: Visions of an American Dreamland, 1861-2008."
Hot Chocolate Festival!: All throughout the month of February, City Bakery is celebrating winter traditions with daily unique flavors of hot chocolate. Make sure to add on their homemade marshmallows if you want extra sweetness.
Have a beautiful weekend NYC!
This Weekend in NYC
Happy Friday!
Since Jonas snowed us in last weekend, this weekend is all about getting out of the house and enjoying NYC’s bounty of activities.
Here are some weekend activities to enjoy in and around the five boroughs:
Red Hook Community Summit: Saturday, January 30th from 10AM-1PM. Join the conversation on resiliency and community planning in Red Hook with our very own RISE : NYC.
New York Wild Film Festival: January 28-31. This festival is taking place at The Explorers Club and aims to educate New York City’s urbanites about topics ranging from wild exploration and adventure to natural life and the environment. It will showcase powerful films and conversations to celebrate wildlife and spark discussion and interest in affecting crucial environmental change.
MoMA PS1: MoMA P.S. 1’s Greater New York takes place every five years. The 158 artists on the roster range from 20-something to 80-something; a few are deceased. Art from the 1970s and ’80s is presented as prescient of what’s being made now, and new art is viewed as putting a trenchant spin on the past. Expose yourself to what’s happening in today’s metropolitan art scene!
Essex Street Market: If you haven’t done so already, run over to Essex Street Market and try the deep fried risotto balls at the new Arancini Bros stand.
New York Botanical Garden: Wild Medicine in the Tropics showcases the fascinating curative properties of tropical plants. Check this out before it ends February 21st.
Have a great weekend, NYC!
