“Nyctophobe”

Our assignment for my 2D-Design class was to create a storyboard using 6 photos and 6 drawings. Unless you’re me and wanted to make your life a living nightmare, then it was about 6 photos and 12 drawings. Go below the cut for assignment trivia.

The “photos” were actually rendered screencaps of this room because it was the closest I could find to a child’s room that was spacious enough to let me set up the camera the way I needed to.

I don’t know how to monster. I spent way too much time trying to figure that guy out. He has a Malachite thing going in that he has 6 arms and no legs, not that it matters. If you want to see sketches of him, let me know.

Also the kid’s name is Terri and her nightgown is an old T-shirt. That’s also not important, but I just thought you should know.

The idea for this story was based on a post I can’t seem to find the link for, but basically someone asked “what if monsters grab your hand in the middle of the night because they’re afraid of the dark?” I thought it was a cute idea perfect for the upcoming holiday so that was immediately where I went.

I spent 10 hours on this. I started at about 1 PM, I got done at about 11, I got home at about 12:20. Please shoot me.

Also I can draw more of them in the future if you’d like. Again, just let me know.
