Veronica had just told Christian his favorite bedtime story and that was enough for the boy to fall asleep. She closed the book and, as she was hiding it, she found her box of "precious stuff" she brought with her when she moved all the way from San Diego. It somehow made her curious; it was too long since she opened it and had no idea of what she could find inside. From photographs to her diary, what made her more curious about was her iPod. The last time the songs there were played was when the lady was in the bus all the way to New York. She turned it on and luckily there was still some battery left. After checking the kid was really sleeping, she took the music player with her and went down to the streets of Manhattan. The play button was pressed and a known tune started to play. Mouthing the words along to the music that played, she sat on a bench close to her apartament, watching people come and go through the illuminated street, some calmer than others. That was giving her a taste from home, especially with all the memories that came with the song. Even though her last days in the city were not the best, there were times she really had fun and wanted to go back to. Ronnie was completely lost in her thoughts before the music changed. Now she couldn't believe what her ears heard. She knew that music more than well. It was Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe". "I haven't heard this in forever!", she thought to herself as her lips moved with every word of the song. It was crazy how she hadn't forgotten not even a single bit of it. Soon enough, her body started to move according to the flow. She was trying to hold herself back, but it was becoming harder and harder. Every second her voice was becoming louder and in a while she was singing loud enough to be heard in case someone walked in front of her. When the second chorus arrived, though, she became totally weak. She couldn't even notice, but her body was moving and doing the whole choreography lively and her expression was on point. That was no more the current Veronica, but her 15 years old self all over again. The people who were probably staring and thinking she was insane weren't a problem anymore. With her eyes shut down, she continued singing and dancing to the song until it reached its end.
