SHE FINALLY HAS A FACE ♥♥♥

SHE’S SO CUTE I’LL NEVER GET OVER IT

It’s been 2 years since I posted the last mock-up, and poor Nym still doesn’t have a complete face-up, so I’m sending her to someone to do it for me and wire her so she’s good at posing (and because she’s in pieces right now lol). I think I might also pay a little extra for them to clean what I have on her face already cuz last time I cleaned I missed little spots in her nose and ears. It’s hard to get in those tiny crevices!

Anyway, here’s the new mock-up that’s still pretty basic but with actual eyebrows! They’re a tad dark I think, but I wanted to make sure they weren’t hard to see. They should be a little darker than her hair, but not that much. I might send her wig with her just to let the artist color match more easily. It’s the eyebrows that have given me the hardest time with her so far; I can’t for the life of me draw them from scratch to my liking. I really want them to look natural! Also still not sure on the eyelashes, though I’m almost certain I don’t want physical lashes now that I’ve seen them in person on other dolls. They’re just so hard to make look right and so easy to mess up by handling them.

Meanwhile, this is how I got her to look in Oblivion a while back:

Just as an additional reference, I guess, mostly for the shine/gloss around the eyes, and maybe also for the skintone if I decide to splurge for the body blushing as well. Just not sure if that would be smart since one of her dresses is white... ^^;

You can see all the details (and imperfections) here. That spot above her lip was unintentional, btw. XD Now I haven't colored her up as vividly as I want her bc I didn't want to waste a bunch of pastel and sealant on a first draft, but this is the gist of what she'll look like. I had to redo those eyebrows 3 times lol

Okay so here is my super basic mock-up, just to make sure what I’m thinking of doing will look right on her. No fine details and just a basic shape for the eyebrows. I did add in the “shine” at the corners of her eyes and eyelids, and the waterline highlight. She doesn’t look as dark as I want her to, but I can’t really remedy that much without airbrushing her whole body too. Besides, this is just a first attempt. Maybe I’ll airbrush her darker later once I feel more confident; right now she just needs a face.

I feel like the eyebrows will probably require a few attempts and wipes. Same with eyelashes if I still feel she needs them once she’s blushed; I want them to match her eyebrows and hair which is light purple but I don’t want them to obscure the detailing I do around her eyes so idk we’ll see. I’ll probably also do some lip lines or some sort of texturing there and around her nose to give it some depth.

And after ALL THAT I plan to add a little forehead mark in the shape of a moon:

Lol just got on to ask for help getting Nym’s head off and suddenly off it came! There’s so much knotting and the s-hook is so big there’s no way I’ll lose it down her neck, so that’s nice, but she’s so tight! I want to restring her but I think I’ll just settle for sealing her head today.
