Deerleaf - The Season Pokémon
A crossbreed between Deerling and Leafeon. They can be found in small herds, or at the sides of wealthy individuals. The air near them smells fresh and floral.
Like many water type Pokémon, Miloryu can be found in a diverse array of colours and patterns. Though most colourations are indicative only of its regional population, some trainers have noted slight differences in move preferences, type strength, and even ability.
Arctic Lapras is highly revered in the battle circuit, however they are notoriously difficult to train. Significantly more aggressive than their Orange Island and Reef variants, amateur trainers often make the mistake of thinking the same methods will work across subspecies. This usually results in injury, and occasionally casualties.
Occulot is one of the Nysa regions native Pokémon. Pervasive across nearly the whole continent, they have a preference to flock towards cities and other urban environments where they have an well populated hunting ground of small Pokémon.
Trainers rarely involve them in the battle circuit as they are notoriously unruly, and their single gold eye can be incredibly unnerving to the feint of heart. Superstition states that these Pokémon can see the future and predict when their trainer will die. Evolution is only achieved following the death of a trainer or close friend.
Despite their unpopularity in battles, many people love including them in beauty contests. Their pelt reflects the night sky above it, and astronomers claim they can see specific nebulas and constellations in their fur if the night is clear enough. However, increasingly polluted cities is causing a decline in Occulot’s stage appearances as their fur becomes more and more grey with pollution.
Evolving from Gagging, this Weezing subspecies can also be found in Nysa’s volcanic regions, though wild sightings are few and far in between. Similar to its pre-evolved form, Nysa Weezing are often referred to by another name, Choking.
Choking are significantly more deadly than there pre-evolved form and should never be approached without protective equipment and a sturdy Pokemon for support. Choking produces a unique gas from it’s pores that is almost always fatal to those who inhale it. The gas is created from the various minerals and metals located within the volcanic biome, and a Choking spends it’s time perfecting its own gas.
Choking is believed to use it’s gas primarily for hunting, as researchers have noted that unlike its common counterpart, Choking is carnivorous. Trainer are cautioned about it’s potential to eat smaller Pokemon, should it be incorrectly supervised.
Found in most frequently in scattered volcanic hotspots in the Nysa region, eye witnesses claim to see this subspecies appearing in other regions, though the International Pokemon Institute of Research has yet to confirm these sightings.
Despite their formal recognition as Koffing, this Pokemon is often referred to as Gagging, referring to the scent of rotten eggs that permeates the air around them, courtesy of the hydrogen sulfide and other volcanic gases they may produce.
Unlike their common counterpart, Gagging are denser and hardier creatures, capable of withstanding significant stress before detonating. However, trainers should be cautioned that an Gagging eruption carries a much higher risk of damage as they release both noxious gases and magma.
Despite Gagging and Koffing’s shared ability to repair its mutilated body after an explosion, Nysa region officials may suspend ones training license for cruel and unsafe practices should vets report a trainer bringing in their Gagging repetitively with explosion injuries.
Scientists have debated whether Nysa Shiitic should truely be considered a different subspecies or not. Though morphologically quite similar, the chemical reaction involved in illuminating their mushroom caps and the pharmacological effect of the produced spores are distinctly different. The consensus reached dictates that dramatic variation in biological products should result in the pokemon’s reclassification as a unique variant.
Unfortunately this new ruling will require the reclassification of several pokemon. Trainers should be advise that edits to the Pokedex may take some time come into effect, and they should attempt to remain up-to-date on new information through other means.
Morelull Pokedex Entry: Colloquially referred to as “Glowcaps”, this Morelull variant prefers mountainous regions. It lures Pokémon and humans alike into dark caverns with its hypnotic glowing mushroom caps.
Shiinotic Pokedex Entry: Unlike common Shiinotic, the spores from a Firecap are stimulants and when consumed elevates body temperature and produces a similar effect to drinking alcohol. Trainer’s should be reminded that consuming this raw product can have lethal effects and it is illegal to sell without a license.
