A wet day in Tunnel Gully Sep 2016 Just a short one of 40km in the sometimes heavy rain today. It was too wet to use my cellphone camera in the rain, so I very cleverly stood inside the tunnel, in the dry to take this photo.

Tunnel 100 metres north of Rimutaka Incline Summit I am not an off road kind of rider but I thought it was rather remiss of me not to have at least ridden up to the summit of the Rimuatka Incline after 14 months of owning my big yellow bike.

Although it is not an off road bike, this kind of track was easy for it.

Thomas Andersen Cycling the Globe Summit of the Rimutakas north of Wellington Feb 2013 The Rimutakas, "a piece of cake" says Thomas Andersen to photographers* at the summit of the Rimutaka Hill Climb; "don't know what all the fuss was about" he added.

Thomas left Copenhagen in late 2010 and is half way to achieving his goal of cycling the globe and is presently heading to Auckland after completing the South Island portion of his trip.
