This is spooky: a USB cable that has a tiny embedded WIFI access point, and it can snoop on your device, inject commands, and more, with commands issued from another phone connected to it by wifi. It's designed originally as a Red Team training tool for cybersecurity, to simulate attacks for the internal Blue Team to counter in an exercise, but they're so inexpensive they might pop up in places you'd rather they don't.
Also, watch out - TIL that since 2018, there are card skimmers that fit over standard Verifone terminals that you find at most US retailers by the cash register, so double check if you see some sort of raised border around the screen. I'm used to the ones that are often put on ATMs and gas pumps, but this one was new to me.
