     (Street Art; Mural, 1984, Oakland, CA. (I 580 Grand Ave/MacArthur Blvd underpass).

    Painted by talents Keith Sklar, David Galvez, Karen Sjoholm, and Brooke Fancher (Dan Fontes) -alongside other gifted artists, "Grand Performance," features (in part) Conductor Calvin E. Simmons, the first African American Conductor of a major American Symphony Orchestra (Oakland Symphony Orchestra*). Simmons unfortunately passed away at the age of 32, in a canoeing accident on New York's Lake George (1982). Other beautiful sections of this mural include, depictions of Julia Morgan, Mary Watkins, Members of the San Francisco Mime Troupe, and Jack London.
