Mei had talked to Professor Juniper about traveling because she really wanted to go somewhere with a professor who she could talk to about the region she went to and its pokemon. Of course, the woman had decided right away to send her to Kanto and into Pallet Town to meet professor Oak.
In her rush, of course, the poor woman had forgotten to give the man a heads up, which she had hastily told Mei, what? Five minutes ago? As she took her first steps into the new town. It was smaller than any town she'd seem, everyone probably knew each other here, which wouldn't help matters.
Tentatively, Mei gathered courage and a smile and knocked on the Professor's door, hoping for the best. As she waited, she anxiously bounced from foot to foot slightly, jittery in the new environment.
