Next up we have the dorms, starting with Canyon Commons Dorms the home of the Davis twins. It’s now got eight bedrooms rather than nine and what I think is a better layout. The dorm has a large cafeteria with all the mod cons, a large living area with separate TV and study areas and communal bathrooms for both sexes. There are various skilling objects scattered around the large hall which the bedrooms open on to. There is a small outside area which contains some pots for nature inclined Sims as well as more skilling objects.
The second dorm is the Desert Dormitory which became the home of the Student Housing household. This dorm also has eight bedrooms although they are split between two floors. You enter the dorm through a living space which is dedicated to studying, and then move into the cafeteria. The bedrooms are four per floor and are accessed off corridors that contain various skilling objects. Upstairs is a large social area which contains objects that are there solely to increase the fun bar. The communal bathrooms are also upstairs and there are a couple of balconies. The small one is for the more creative types, whereas the large balcony has pots and exercise mats.
Third up is the Fiesta Hall Dorms which is currently empty, mostly because it’s so damn big! It has ten bedrooms and to be honest I’m probably unlikely to use it unless I end up with a household of four or five Sims. The downstairs is mostly one large rooms which houses the stairs and the cafeteria. There are four bedrooms downstairs and four single occupant bathrooms, two for each sex. Upstairs there is a living area, the six other bedrooms and another two single occupant bathrooms. There is also a balcony at the back of the building which houses some skilling objects. I find this dorm to have a lot of wasted space but I did my best with it.
Lastly we have the Oasis Dormitory which is the home of Stella Terrano. This is the smallest dorm in any of the uni hoods, with only five bedrooms, and it’s my favourite. It has two single occupant bathrooms, a small cafeteria and a small living area. There are a few skilling objects in the hall as usual. I like it because you can keep a close eye on what’s going on, and it reminds me of my experience of university accomodation which was all shared flats rather than dorms.
All the dorms are far nicer than actual university accomodation, which alas means some pretty big bills for the first tenants (although I was nice and cheated them some money to pay for that). All the bedrooms are equipped the same way, they have a single bed, a bedside table, a small chest of drawers, a desk and chair and a rug. I individualise the rooms occupied by playable Sims, with notice boards that are relevant to their One True Hobby, posters that fit with their interests and sometimes the 3t2 awards that match those things too. Otherwise the rooms are all very similar, their main difference being the colour schemes.
