This tumblr is mostly for keeping up with The Sims fandom, however I will occasionally follow blogs that are geeky, feminist or disability-related. For my Sims 2 CC go here
also if u press the “esc” (escape) key on ur laptop before the page fully loads, it won’t load any pop-ups blocking u from reading. if the article has images, then this method sometimes does not u see them. but! the words will be fine :)
If the site is particularly badly designed, you might just be able to delete the overlay itself. Right click > Inspect element and delete the line of HTML (it’ll be highlighted automatically)
I just showed this to my partner and he reminded me that The Guardian is always free and is an excellent place to read unbiased well researched articles. I’m kind of embarrassed I didn’t think of that too, I am failing as a lefty liberal Brit!
This post may be relevant to your interests, or at least to your most recent post. This is my cat Seven, as in Seven of Nine. We adopted her as a tiny 10 week old kitten back in August 2019, before we knew Jeri Ryan would be making her awesome appearances on Picard. We just wanted to use the name of a female character who lived in space, as we already had another cat with a name that fit that theme. We landed on using a Star Trek name very early on and came up with a list of possibilities. When we met Seven and her sister we knew which name we’d be using! As you can see she has very distinct markings around her right eye and on her left front paw, they really looked like Seven of Nine’s cybernetic implants to us. And so she was named. Also pictured our other cats from L to R: River (from Firefly), Luna (from Harry Potter) and Willow (from Buffy) who is Seven’s littermate. So we have two space farers and two witches.
I don’t know if any of you play Sims 4, but at the moment they are putting a different stuff pack up at half price every few days. Today it’s Romantic Garden stuff. From what I’ve seen they rarely put the stuff packs in the sale and most of them aren't worth full price (looking at you Fitness, Toddler, First Pet and Patio!) so if you have any on your wish list, keep checking every few days. You have missed Cool Kitchen, Vintage Glamour and Movie Hangout I’m afraid :-(
I was 15 and it would have been just before Christmas 1999, and I saw an ad for The Sims in a magazine. I was immediately interested and I asked for it for Xmas, except it wasn’t out yet. I stayed up to date and I bought it almost as soon as it was launched. Before that I’d played things like Lemmings, Railway Tycoon and Civilisation so I already had some Megalomaniac tendencies! I bought every expansion except Superstar and Makin’ Magic, because by that point my 3.06GB hard drive was full and I had to uninstall other games to free up the RAM needed to launch The Sims every time! I discovered CC pretty early on, I think it was The Well-dressed Sim I found. I also made some of my own CC by cutting and pasting textures between meshes. I had all my CC on two floppy disks, most of it from Persimmon Grove.
When I heard about The Sims 2 I was excited but sad because there was no way my PC would run it. However my 21st was coming up and my parents decided to buy me the only joint present I’ve ever had from them, and they bought me a custom built PC. This was 2005, so I acquired TS2 with it’s first expansion, University. At first I could barely keep my Sims alive, I remember finding it so much harder than the original game. Plus I kept having my kids taken away! My shiny specifically built for TS2 PC lasted until 2010, when it acquired a very nasty virus from an unnamed Sims site (cough*TSR*cough) and my partner very kindly gave me his PC. This was mostly due to me being in my final year of university and about to start my dissertation, but Sims! This also coincided with him buying me The Sims 3 as I’d been pretty excited about it’s launch. I then made him laugh hysterically when I played TS3 for 30 minutes and then spent all night reinstalling all my TS2 discs! I kept playing TS2, started making CC and had many attempts at playing an Uberhood. When they launched Supernatural TS3 became more interesting to me, and I acquired a few other Expansions along the way. For a long time I played TS3 if I was in the mood for legacy style play and TS2 was for days when I wanted to build, or play my Uberhood. I have recently started playing TS4 after having zero interest in it from it’s launch. I think like TS3 it just really needed a lot of padding out before it captured the magic of The Sims or The Sims 2. It is a total rip off though, and I’ve been taking advantage of both the post Xmas and 20th anniversary sale. Plus my boyfriend is still very generous.
I’ve been fiddling around with these two hair retextures and trying to work out if they are worth pursuing.
The first is Modish Kitten’s Cloud Puff redone using the textures from Trapping’s 3t2 Wildfire. I’m pretty happy with how the textures look on this one and I will finish it off for myself, just not sure if anyone else would want it and therefore what colour actions I should run.
The second is an adapted retexure of Trapping’s City Side Braids using the very fine work of @vakna-vera-hugsa-simblr just replacing the twists texture with the Wildfire texture. I can’t decide whether I should leave as is, or replace the ponytail texture too. I’d probably have a play around the the alpha on the ponytail either way. But what do you think?
When you’re growing up in abusive family, you don’t feel like “oh, I’m being abused, this is wrong.” You don’t even think about that. Instead, you feel guilty all the time. You feel like a horrible person. You feel useless and wrong, like something is fundamentally wrong with you, and you deserve every bit of harm coming your way.
For every time your parents hurt you, you feel it was justified and you deserved and provoked it. You keep feeling horrible and guilty about everything you’ve done to cause it. Even when something extreme happens, you dismiss it with “they didn’t mean that” or “it was just once, in anger, so it doesn’t count.”
You feel like a burden, because you know these people don’t want you in their house, and you don’t feel capable of being independent, and it’s on you that you keep bothering them with your existence, and don’t seem to be capable of getting out of there. You don’t feel like you deserve food, shelter, clothes, or anything. You feel like a burden no matter what you do. You don’t feel welcome anywhere, you don’t feel like you have a home, like there’s a place on this planet where you could be loved and cared for. You doubt yourself so badly, you struggle to see any value in your existence and it becomes hard. You break down and feel weak and lost and like everyone else is leaving you behind. You don’t feel like a part of anything. You feel guilty for existing the way you are.
If you felt this, you’ve been thru abuse. There is no one on this world who is useless, unworthy of love, or deserves to feel so guilty and to be hurt all the time. These ideas didn’t come from you, but from how horribly you were treated. Feeling this way is not normal. You did not deserve to feel this way.
I was sitting in a lecture in my 2nd year of my Nursing degree when my lecturer started describing my relationship with my mum down to the last detail. And then she explained that she had just described emotional abuse. I was 25 years old, and had been out on the hospital ward being an advocate for my patients for a year, but I hadn’t known I was a victim of emotional abuse. I knew my relationship with my mum was difficult, and I knew I could never make her happy but I was absolutely floored at the understanding that it wasn’t my fault. It changed my life, and I wish I’d known so much sooner that there was nothing wrong with me, that there really was nothing I could do to make her love me. I did a whole lot of reading on the subject and I was able to teach my younger brothers coping strategies so that they were better protected. I still wish I could reach through time and tell my much younger self that she is precious and valuable and 100% worthy of love.
We start with Julien cooking himself some breakfast.
Then, presumably after he ate the food he cooked, he moves on the daily crossword puzzle in the paper.
And then does some skill-related reading.
After all that I was thoroughly bored so I sent him out to the Veronaville Market, hoping something interesting might happen. Apparently he doesn’t like the flowers I used to decorate around the beautiful pond I built. Screw you Julien!
Now if George McCarthy thinking “who is this dapper gentleman?” or is he thinking “Dude it’s the 21st century, not the 19th!”
Julien is very happy with his aesthetic though, so who cares what forever teen over there thinks.
Maybe someone will come play with him?
These two are immediate Double Bolters, even if Nina is a bit of a sore loser.
Is Edwin Sharpe doing the kitten startle reflex or is he mocking the Human Statue NPC’s artistry?
Nina heads off to grab a bite, and I notice Florence Delarosa is walking by. I had somewaht hoped these two might be a match, but alas zero chemistry (I had also thought Julien might make a good match for Kent Capp, but again no lightning bolts)
Still despite their lack of sexual sparkage, the two hit it off and Florence thinks about kissing.
Silly Dormie and Host NPC, I do not care enough about you for you to get to marrying into a Playable family. But I will flail if Julien’s only good matches are the Sims equivalent of Red Shirts.
Oh great, just what the lot needed.
Should I be worried about Julien? Or is if perfectly normal to discuss trains with an empty seat...
Nothing sinister happening behind you at all there Julien.
Nina comes over to discuss their respective meals, whilst Romeo wonders if anyone would notice him eating those leftovers. The answer is yes, Hermia will totally notice and judge you and tell her sister.
I feel that Nina might be making a bit of a low blow here, I mean hate the Unsavoury Charlatan because he’s a conman and thief, not because you find him repellant sexually.
That waitress is totally pissed off that they are conversing in the worst possible place.
Back at home Julien has a nap in his new recliner (I really wish Sims could nap on their beds like they can in Sims 3)
And then off to work.
Whilst at work this chance card comes up. I mean who chooses the first option? It’s a burger place, people will be pissed off if there are no burgers.
Fortunately this choice goes well for me, but I know I’ve had a bad outcome choosing that way before.
Not only did he get a skill point and a bonus, but also a promotion to Host.
I think he’s talking to Florence there, but it could be Nina or someone else. I don’t know ok.
Off to work in his snazzy new uniform the next day.
And this time it’s a hobby chance card.
It’s a good thing I’d already had this one whilst playing the Pleasants.
Julien invites Florence over after work.
He really likes her milkshake, he’s just concerned he might be lactose intolerant.
For a supposedly skilled chef, Julien doesn’t actually have that many cooking skill points.
They end the night deciding that they make great friends but nothing else.
This must be the next day after work, and I assume he’s chatting to someone on that doorstep of a laptop.
And then I sent him out to the makeover of the Old Silo Farm. The next few pictures are just me showing off how pretty this lot is. I apologise!
Oh look here’s Julien cooking some burgers. That’s the sort of thing you’re all actually reading for right?
Julien likes the look of Lola, so I send him over to meet her. I think Ana Patel recognises Julien from work.
Another scenery pic, but have you ever seen such pretty toilets in your life?
Julien and Lola hit it off very quickly, possibly because Lola is under the false impression that Julien has money.
Thinks start to take a more romantic turn, and this is the point that I remember that Lola is already dating Ajay Loner. Oops.
Everyone loves being tickled in the Sims world, what kind of freakish world is that?
And now some kickey bag in the pouring rain.
Lola subtly feels Julien out over the size of his bank balance, and a lightning bolt nicely lights the scene. I need to go put more lights on this lot.
Some cute flirting going on here.
And now Julien is crushing on this beautiful green-skinned goddess.
Dancing in the rain.
And Julien goes in for his first kiss.
I had never noticed how pointy Julien’s ears where before this, and now I have this whole headcanon about how he’s adopted and he came to live in Veronaville to ask the Fae Royal Couple to help him track down his Fae parent.
This first kiss is so much better than the one Lola and Ajay had.
Awwww!!!! Also is there no view on this lot that isn’t pretty?
Another kiss, this time overlooking the pond.
Even the rain puddles don’t ruin the romantic atmosphere. Mental note, must send more Veronaville folk on dates to this lot.
Is it her alien genes that make her so strong or does she just hit the gym a lot?
I am incredibly proud of this picture, I just wish it wasn’t quite so dark.
At least in the dark it’s a little harder to see that lovely bright blue accessory mesh fail that is orbiting Lola.
The date ends as a Dream Date. I believe Ajay only managed a Great Date. How do I decide which paramour she stays with? Just lock the first engagement want? Or could they work out as a Thruple? Maybe Ajay isn’t entirely straight...
I have no idea what is going on with their body language here, they almost look like they are about to do a celebratory chest bump or something.
Back at home Lola pops by to leave a bouquet. That is quite the round trip to Strangetown just to leave flowers.
And that’s it for Julien. Hope you’ve enjoyed my silliness.

I moved Kent to 28 Bard Boulevard as I realised it was a bit silly for him to be in a tiny starter house when he could avoid a bigger one. I also redid the layout a bit for him.
Kent starts his round with a day off (or possibly he moved in too late to go that day). He immeadiately roleld the want for a date so he called up the Matchmaker.
He pays her a not at all small amount but she’s very mercenary and reserves her best matches for those willing to pony up £5k.
Meet blonde elven dormie.
Things don’t go badly but it’s not true love.
I decide to circumvent the Matchmaker, who seems to be out for blood after my YA Sims all had such great dates after paying her a pittance. So I buy Kent a Find a Mate Crystal Ball and Remington Harris comes up as a match.
They are Double Bolters so I’m hopeful that this may be a good match.
Conversation turns into flirting pretty quick.
Remington thinks a nice vase would really set off the decor in this room (which reminds me I really need someone to start a pottery business)
A little tentative dancing.
Which becomes a full on dance party in no time.
Kent is pretty pleased with the meal who cooks for them, he’s sure Bianca has said something about the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. Of course his family there are no hearts involved, just lots of money.
Kent is pretty excited about his new house.
I mean I know I really like it when a man presumes that I am completley incapable of eating my own food.
Remington obviously feels differently.
Kent gives good toast.
The date ends on a high note.
And apparently a kiss that I completley missed.
Remington drops off a single rose in the small hours.
Charisma skilling.
And off to work.
And back from work, with John Burb.
They are both so happy to have a friend.
I try again with the Find a Mate, just in case I missed a Triple Bolter. Connor Weir is alas very straight, but they get on well.
Kent tries to start a date but gets turned down.
I am wondering is his laughter is a little bit hysterical, after all he did just appear in this house from many neigbourhoods away. It’s probably a little disorientating. They say goodbye after that.
At his previous address Kent had started to befriend a stray called Scout. He’s delighted when Scout find him a his new house.
And like that Scout joins the family.
He does not have the best personality but Kent is besotted.
Not the best start though...
That’s a better, even if there maybe something a little cannibalistic about that toy. But then I bought my kittens a teething toy that is cat shaped...
Scout settles in quickly.
Even is he does prefer to sleep on Kent’s bed.
The next day Kent comes home with a promotion to High School Teacher.
And to celebrate he bathes Scout.
I think that sums up how Scout felt about that activity perfectly.
Some master-dog bonding.
Kent does wonder how on earth Scout knows two tricks but is not housebroken.
A quick stop at the Stratford Strip for a present for Scout.
I think he looks very handsome (and yes I do overuse that neckerchief terribly)
Pet care is not all fun.
But Kent thinks it’s worth it.
Maybe not when he has to clean that up though.
More charisma building.
Scout makes friends with one of the neighbourhood wolves.
Or maybe not...
That wolf is so ashamed of being pawned by something that resembles a rat more than a dog.
Kent invites Remington over for another date.
They make a cute couple.
Remington makes an effort to win over Scout too.
Kent is smitten.
Happy to be tickled?
But a caress is an unwelcome touch?
Best friends is a good step.
Things are going very well.
Remington felt the need to prove that just because he’s a maid, he’s still built. of course he’d also like to put Kent down quickly.
Kent seems somewhat unimpressed by his boyfriend falling in love with him.
But now Remington has randomly changed into his green uniform, he loves him too.
That all happened quickly.
On Remington honey, Edward Cullen and Angel from Buffy are not good rolemodels.
Kent doesn’t seem to believe me though, apparently he’s always wanted to be stalked.
Kent: Marry me and then you can watch me sleep every night!
What a way to finished the night.
Despite the creepy sleep watching I am in favour of their cuteness.
Scout has pleasant dreams of his unlikely victory.
So I’m using @midgethetree‘s Fairy Trait and I have various mods including fairyglowball and fairiesflyhere. Except this is happening. Please ignore the TV Dinner pack, that’s stuck in Puck Summerdream’s hand and I think it’s unrelated. In her original post she said that fairyglowball seems to conflict with CS_harvesttree, but it was fine as long as her mod loads last. I have all the Castaways extracted stuff in a folder called Stories_Castaway, and all of Midge’s mods are in ZZZ_Hacks. Will that make my mods load last or have I fucked up?
In checking my mods folder I saw I also had fairylifestatestatue, which I’ve just deleted but I haven’t had a chance to check my game yet.
EDIT: So it turned out I had midgethetree_vampireservosturnintosentrybots_sentrysound in my downloads. Removing that and midgethetree_fairylifestatestatue seems to have fixed the problem. I assume it was the first one? Can anyone help with the stuck TV dinner box? I’ve tried using the batbox cause errors function. I tried deleting Puck but it made my game crash.

3 bolts with Regan Capp, 2 bolts with Katy McGaw and Crystal Vu
I forgot to include pictures of how their house was furnished back when I shared the lot makeovers, so here’s a furnished 54 Via Veronaville. As you can see most of their money went on the lot.
We start with Regan and Cornwall attempting to converse from opposite sides of their dining room whilst they eat their leftovers for breakfast.
I can only assume either nothing of note happened during the day or I had a Fraps fail, because the next photo I have is Regan returning home with a promotion to Senior Manager.
Reagn brought Downtownie Celeste Midlock home from work, I suspect Regan is explaining that her marriage was arranged but that’s all good because she has off the charts chemistry with her hubbie.
Don’t mind the makeover Celeste received since the last shot, I think Regan approves.
Celeste seems rather stuck on the idea that Cornwall married Regan for her money. She doesn’t understand it’s all fine because they can fuck like rabbits even if they despise each other.
Meanwhile upstairs Cornwall works on the charisma points he needs to be promoted. I think he’s rehearsing a speech to his boss about the merits of buying the local politicians.
Regan is straight to work at gaining the logic points she needs for the next step up the career ladder.
Time for dinner.
And more hollering across a football field.
That triple bolt chemistry means they can’t wait to reach their bed, not when there’s a perfectly good antique sofa to get busy on. I am quite worried for their upholstrey.
And there is a new little Capp on the way. They both had a baby want so I didn’t put them on birth control.
Cornwall blocked the toilet and left it for Regan to sort out. Charming!
The next morning he’s back in front of the mirror so he can criticise Hermia’s violin playing, doesn’t he know she just got promoted in the orchestra?
Is he talking to someone? I am quite shocked if that’s the case.
Oh no, he’s making more money to add the huge pile they already have.
Now she’s home from work it’s Regan’s turn to monologue to the mirror. Can you tell that i enjoy these animations a great deal?
Cornwall greets Ramir Patel as he walks by the lot. I hope they don’t notice that their trousers match!
Aww how nice Ramir! Compliments are lovely to receive.
Cornwall: I married her for the huge piles of money. I mean, have you ever seen the Capp family gold vault? I wanted to swim in it like Scrooge McDuck!
Regan makes dinner again. She has more cooking points and I don’t want them to die.
Cornwall does some skilling, whilst sitting in the wet spot from yesterday.
So happily married these two are.
Pop!
She may be on maternity leave but Regan walks to work the next morning.
I can’t decide if I want Cornwall to get that promotion or not.
Dammit! I worked hard for that charisma point.
Regan’s day went very well though, she’s promoted to Vice President.
Straight onto that needed creatitivity skill.
And Cornwall gets to work on gaining his lost charisma back.
Carlos Contender walks by and I have Regan greet him.
I think she’s glad I told her to do that.
And that would seem to be it for them. I don’t know if they were just boring or if I was missing the print screen key throughout their round.
I am considering rerolling their LTWs, since their bios were about wanting to avoid the family business. I may let them go down the OFB business route, but I’m not sure what businesses they should run. Suggestions very welcome.
Since Albany is the stay at home parent, it’s he who is up in the small hours of the morning trying to persuade a toddler to use the potty.
Still it pays off for him as he makes best friends with Ariel.
And then puts her back down to sleep.
The next morning he’s trying to work out when the last time he had any woohoo whilst sorting out his broods breakfast, surely it’s ben since Ariel was born? How are they to have any more babies, if they don’t do any babymaking?
Hal thinks the slop Ariel is spreading all over her face is probably still more palatable than whatever is in the oven right now.
Miranda had managed to sneak some of the leftover pancakes, so she’s pretty happy with her decision to get up earlier than was necessary.
Whilst Goneril grabbed the last plate, she thinks it’s only fair since she’s the breadwinner and all the money that funds their lifestyle came from her family.
Hal discovers his One True Hobby is Gaming during a quick chess match with himself before breakfast.
The toaster pastries are done.
And everyone gathers around the table to enjoy them as a family. Miranda has second breakfast, and tries not to laugh at her baby brother’s inappropriate conversation.
Goneril heads into the office.
And the older kids head to school, with Miranda holding everyone up until the last possible second she can leave.
Albany messes around on the piano, Goneril expects him to return to work as soon as Ariel starts school. And so she wants him skilling as much as possible. he is planning on at least one more kid before that happens.
Miranda gets home, with less than stellar grades.
And Albany prepares an afternoon snack for the kids now they are home from school.
Miranda picks up a part-time job. It’s not in the field she eventally wants to go into, but it’s a job her parents and Grandfather will approve of.
Goneril returns from work full of excitement.
And with a work colleague whose namer I don’t know. I think he must be an AL townie who generated before I got a mod to populate apartments with Townies, Downtownies and NPCs.
Miranda heads off for her first day knocking on doors.
Goneril does love her kids, she’s just not the stay at home type. Still it would be nice if she actually looked at what Desdemona is doing rather than staring off into the distance whilst she thinks about work.
That’s better Goneril! Dangerous and probably very unwise, but at least you’re are engaging.
Albany tries to get Ariel walking before she ages up.
And Hal makes a start on his homework.
Desdemona wasn’t ready to give up her mother’s attention, so she asked for help with her homework. And learned to study.
Miranda returned from work and got on with her assignments too.
Goneril gets in some skilling before bed. At usual she’s the last one up.
The next morning Miranda is on breakfast duty, which does not go well. Goneril is relieved that there are leftovers from yesterday.
Albany is busy upstairs with Ariel, so he forgos the charcoal for now.
Bathtime for a stinky toddler.
And then she gets started with maximising her skill points.
Skipping ahead a few hours Miranda returns home with an A+
And a friend. Lilith seems very excited to talk about toys.
And she’s pretty sure her family drama is worse than Miranda’s. I wouldn’t count on that Lil.
Goneril returns home with a promotion to Vice President.
And Hal comes home from school with a big smile on his face.
Desdemona is a complete Mummy’s girl, and so it’s she who congratulates Goneril on her huge piles of money.
Miranda is so happy to have made a friend who is removed from all the Veronaville feuding.
Goneril gets straight on the skill points needed for that next promotion.
But that doesn’t mean it can’t also be a chance to bond with her kids.
Albany and Desdemona do some reading. That thought bubble is just perfectly Desie!
Meanwhile Ariel wakes from her nap not at all happy.
And Desdemona moves onto some piano playing.
Now free of her crib, Ariel joins her sister in her musical pursuits.
Whilst Albany learns about Fire Safety. This will become important very soon.
Now it’s Goneril’s time to tinkle the ivories.
There is not much time until Ariel ages up and I really wanted to get her all her toddler skills. Alas I forgot to check Albany’s aspiration colour.
I have a very bad feeling about this.
No! Do not give that poison swill to your daughter!
This looks like it could go very wrong very fast!
Meanwhile at the dinner table Alabny makes besties with first Miranda.
And then Hal.
The next day Goneril gets a chance card. Did I choose the right way?
I chose wisely!
More money for the Capps.
And Miranda works on the charisma skill point she needs for work.
Outside Ripp Grunt walks by and I send Miranda out to greet him.
This proves to be a very good idea.
With mere hours until Ariel’s age transition we give the smart milk another go.
Looks like Goneril was in a good mood. Now for getting those toddler skills!
Drink the milk Ariel!
And it’s all too late!
Ariel still aged up well, but wait what’s going on?
Apparently Albany decided that Ariel needed to have her life in danger, the second she was capable of dying. Thank fuck he learned Fire Safety!
Meanwhile upstairs Hal also ages up, alone and forgotten by the rest of his family.
He rolls Fortune for his Aspiration, but I seem to have forgotten to document his Life Time Want.
Still he ages up very well. If not into a terribly in character outfit.
Miranda carries on talking to Ripp, unaware that she’s missed two of her siblings birthdays and a housefire.
A quick makeover for Hal and I send him and Miranda out to Stratford Strip.
Miranda wants jewellery.
Whilst Hal picks up electronics for himself and his big sister.
And a computer game I believe.
Some photos to commerate Hal’s first night as a teen.
And then home for some makeovers, one more appreciated than the other.
Ariel also has a makeover and she finally gets to play someonthing bigger than a xylophone.
Goneril and Albany have a game of chess once the kids are in bed.
This there are quite a few families with the same surnames in this hood, I will be naming each household after the head of the part of the family, so Consort, Goneril, Regan and Kent for the Capps and then Patrizio, Antonio and Bianca for the Montys.

Consort is older than dirt a distinguished older man and so he rises very early in the morning. To put his time to good use he starts working on the charisma points he needs for that big promotion.
A few hours later the teens get up and they go check out their makeovers, I think they are happy.
Tybalt makes breakfast, because NPC Butlers are completley useless and basically charge you £1000 a day to stand around snootily.
Juliette decides her One True Hobby is Cuisine. But is the food or the food preparation attendent that really interests you Jules?
Family breakfast.
Tybalt sneaks into his Grandfather’s study to check up on those scholarships he applied for.
Looks like the feud with the Montys may have paid off for Tybalt.
The teens all wanted to buy mobile phones, and I sent them out to do that. But to the wrong place initially, so enjoy this awesome character revealing entrance pic.
Now at the correct community lot, Tybalt got on with playing some pinball.
And Hermia bought herself all the electronic goodies that a 00s girl needed.
Juliette wanted to buy herself some sparkle.
And she’s pretty pleased with how it looks with her outfit.
Hermia has some fun at the arcade.
And Tybalt admires his new sparkle too.
Hermia really wanted to acquire a pet, so introducing Helena Capp.
A odd eyed black cat perfect to be a familiar (not this is poor forshadowing at all)
Helena immediately joins in on the family feud, after all this shop dares to be on the Monty side of the canal and therefore must pay!
Sandy Bruty and Mickey Dosser are more interested in each other than the adorable puppy at their feet.
Synchronised browsing by the two remaining Capp siblings.
What fortuitious timing Phoebe Adams! It’s not like there was anyone on the lot I wanted to meet you at all...
I’d be careful about who you call fugly random Dormie boy!
Once again the ancient mystical recruitment tactic of kicky bag.
Juilette and Tybalt decide to get coffe, whilst their baby sis talks to weird sparkly strangers. Did they learn nothing from Twilight?
This may be the most perfect photo I have ever taken. There are just not enough words to describe it’s perfection.
Back at home the Uberhood Elders have come to welcome the Capps. Consort really likes Olive, and I’m almost tempted to let him have her.
Consort launches into a story about how he attended a party with Olive in her heyday, and discovers his One True Hobby is Film& Lit.
Tybalt deserved something that made him a bit more interesting, so I bought him a Toy Crafting Station. which now gives Tinkering enthusiasm as it bloody well should.
He made himself a friend.
Consort, you really do not want to get to know that woman any better.
Evidence of the feud finally shows up.
The next day Consort gets a hobby related chance card.
Woot! A pass to the most exclusive hobby lot in my game.
Weirdly enough initially Hermia had a violin in her room but then I found out her OTH was Nature and I deleted it. It see,s somehow she’s still been playing it.
And somehow Consort’s hobby card gave him a promotion that he did not have the skill points to get yet. So that’s him in Perma-Plat, will he live longer now?
He’s really happy, even if I feel a bit cheated.
I really need to find a way to fix my Private School Uniform default for teen boys.
Juliette comes home with an A+
Which she proceeds to crow about to her less academically gifted sister. But what is Helena watching so avidly?
A cooking show gone horribly horribly wrong (is this how Olivia and Claudio Monty died? Tragic fire on the set of their cooking show?)
Homework time.
Helena enjoys her cat tree in Hermia’s room.
Cordelia Monty is terribly upset about her father’s bed.
Is she toughing up her heir? Or just being a dick?
The next day Tybalt brings home a A+
As does Hermia. So Juliette can’t crow about her better grades any more.
Tybalt attempts to repair the broken sink. Alas his mechanical skill is not high enough.
Grinning kitty. I wish things like that stuck to the walls better in real life, my cats destroy toys like that it a couple of minutes.
Tybalt gets another scholarship, so when he heads off next round he’ll be well financied.
I am in need of TS2 tops for kids that are close fitting, that can be worn under bottom only dungarees. I’ve default replaced all my kids separates, and I’m loathe to remove those just to get a few t-shirts that don’t have 3D edges.
Job: Yearbook Club Supervisor (Journalism Teen Level 1)
OTH: Arts & Crafts (discovered this round)
ACR Preference: Straight
Olive wakes in the night and plays herself at chess.
Ophelia makes them both breakfast.
Then she feeds the weird fish Aunt Olive keeps on her desk.
She worries the bowl is too small for it.
Olive reads a book.
No Kaylynn flee whilst you can!
The welcome wagon shows up, probably no good contenders for a new husband though. Unless she deals with their wives first...
Ophelia returns from school with an A+.
Olive tries to get to know these randoms who showed up to welcome her to a home she’s lived in her whole life.
Ophelia discovers her One True Hobby is Arts & Crafts. Of course it should be Nature, now that I’ve got a mod that fixes the weirdness of the flower arranging table building Arts enthusiasm.
I’d be careful Patrizio, no man has ever survived her. Meanwhile Faith seems much more interested in the Strangetown wildlife than greeting Olive.
Olive heads out to 88 Road to Nowhere and bumps into General Buzz.
They have a very animated discussion about fortune telling.
Before Olive buys some new threads.
And heads into the chapel to relive some unhappy memories.
Back at home Ophelia chats with someone via IM.
And the ghosts are out to play.
Ophelia tries to concentrate on her homework (also please admire her desk, I am ridiculously proud of it)
She’s far too concerned about when she’s going to get spooked to be able to deal with trigonometry.
Olive carries on with her life, completley unbothered by the ghosts.
Spaghetti for dinner.
The next day Olive invites her friend Frances McCullough over.
The two do some bonding.
Ophelia comes home from work with a promotion to Blog Writer. Alas she leaves for University tomorrow, and so will not get the Overachiever scholarship.
Olive and Frances continue to enjoy each other’s company.
And Frances definitley approves of how Olive secured her fortune.
She decides to bestow a great gift on her friend.
Olive joins the Path of Darkness.
Meanwhile Ophelia hides out in the bathroom until the Evil Witch goes away, alas she is not yet aware that her Aunt just became one.
Olive gets a start on levelling up her Magic skill, but where is her evil lair?
Once again the ghosts are out and about...
We won’t feel sorry for Olive, after all she wanted to see a ghost.
Poor Ophelia didn’t want to get dragged from sleep for a fright though.
The next morning Olive tries to empart some wisdom to her niece.
Before she goes off to investigate the bookcase in her bedroom. Why is she studying it quite so thoroughly?
Oh it’s a hidden door! And its that a ladder I see behind it? Could this be the way to her magical lair?
Time to head off to work for Olive.
And time for Ophelia to apply for some scholarships.
That’s a nice little lump sum to help her out.
And then that’s Ophelia off to university, do we think the shooting star will prove lucky for her?
Olive returns from work and uses magic to deal with all those Environment score lowering puddles. Perhaps no more drowning your victims Olive?
We start our round with the most normal family in Strangetown, with Jenny discovering a new recipe in the the newspaper.
Whilst Jill skips on the back deck.
Johnny takes full advantage of the new pool slide.
And discovers his One True Hobby is fitness.
That may be the belly flop to end all belly flops. Poor PT#9!
He quickly recovers and gets on with a truly wholesome game of Marco Polo. This is also the point I realise the kids should be in school, and Jenny should be at work. So they all head off very late, taking quite a hit to their school/work performance.
Once returned from work, Jenny tells PT#9 about her day, I wonder which doctor she’s complaining about?
Johnny needs another body skill point for a scholarship, so he works on that any free chance he has.
And PT#9 and Jenny get working on that third child.
Looks like they were successful.
PT#9 makes breakfast, I hadn’t realised quite how well camoflagued he is in there!
Johnny is hard at work before the sun rises.
Jill: So do we have to go to school today?
PT#9: *skips out perfectly cooked pancake in shock*
Once the kids head off to school, PT#9 makes a less painful entry to the pool.
Go Johnny!
That half day really tanked Johnny’s grades, I’m not sure he’ll manage to get back to an A/A+ before he leaves for University the next day,
Jill has managed to get back up to at A+ in one day though.
Jenny works on her needed skill points to become am Intern. Because of course all nurses dream of becoming doctors, it’s not like we go to university to get a degree in Nursing...
PT#9 works on those logic points, these Sim activities still fascinate him.
I think this shot was mostly just to show of Jill’s room, which I was hugely proud of.
A family meal at which they discuss how close to their next age transitions Johnny and Jill are.
Then some quality sibling time.
Before it’s time for homework.
Jill makes a start on hers, before realising she might need help.
Fortunately Dad was close by to help his baby girl out, studying skill achieved.
Jenny has her first pregnancy pop.
And she and PT#9 have some grown-up bonding time whilst the kids sleep upstairs.
I’m pretty sure this pic was only to show that Johnny has horses on his pjs, alas not white ones though.
Jenny is worried about how the kids will take news that there’s a baby on the way.
Johnny is so close to achieving that 8th body skill point, and the Fitness Hobby Master feels entitled to interrupt him.
Yay we got the A+ in time after all!
Time to apply for those scholarships!
Those will certainly help him out for his first semester.
I decide Jill will do the nice thing.
And her classmates are ungrateful little shits.
Johnny heads off to University, with Jenny waddling out just in time to say goodbye.
When Jill gets home she’s upset about her classmates picking on her, and for Johnny leaving without saying goodbye. So PT#9 takes her to the newly opened Out Of This World Pet Store and Park. She has a lovely time playing with the puppy in the pen, but that is not the reason for their visit.
They are there to acquire the only thing missing from their perfect TV family ideal, the family pet. PT#9 has done substantial research and decides they need a Golden Retriever and he will not be talked out of the name.
Rover immediately proves that he’s an idiot, despite his non-doofus status above.
PT#9 acquires an accessory for Rover and then they head home.
I think PT#9 may be regretting his purchase already.
Not the porch seat!
Jenny rushes out to defend her furniture and to start training the dumb mutt.
She can’t stay mad about PT#9′s impulsiveness for long though, Rover does have a fuzzy wuvvy tummy after all...
His bowl had to be green, I mean what other colour was it going to be in this house?
PT#9 bonds with his mutt.
And Jenny has her second pregnancy pop.
I’m a bit worried about Jill being crushed by Rover.
PT#9 makes sure that Johnny’s exercise mat doesn’t get lonely, or perhaps he’s trying to stay in good shape so he’ll see the new baby grow up.
No Rover No!!!
Jenny and PT#9 have a quiet breakfast together, the house feels so empty without Johnny.
There are really no lengths that the Hobby Masters will not go to hand out those membership cards!
Rover further bonds with his new family.
Jill and PT#9 become besties just in time...
As Jill has her age transition.
Aspiration: Knowledge/???
LTW: Marry Off 3 Children (this will get rerolled I think)
Thanks to becoming besties with her dad at the last possible minute, all is good for Jill with her growing up in Platinum.
