Elekta could barely remember what sunlight felt like on her skin, couldn’t fathom the smell of fresh bread or the sweet taste of ripe fruit. She’d been locked away for so long she sometimes thought she’d forget what it was to be human. But she was no quitter and the solitude of the dungeon was better than having Lester abuse and defile her body. Today was the day, when she would be set free of her prison and taken to her death, and she’ll be damn if she so much as flinched on the way. But they didn’t take her to the stocks, instead they took her into the castle through a back entrance, keeping her out of the sights of regular patrons until they made it to an office. Elektra was quiet as she was guided inside, watching everybody carefully, wondering what was going on.
