Oat chips that are a rebrand of an older product. I have been neglecting reviewing them because I thought I already did, but see here's the thing:

Even the image is the same. You can see how I thought I didn't need to touch this new bag design either. The ingredients for today's bag are identical to the one on the left, the only difference being chip shape.

Now that we have that hassle out of the way, let's dig into the product. As oat chips they stand out for not tasting very oaty. The concave disc structure is a bit on the tougher side, but avoids being your gums' worst enemy.

As a perk for lacking a strong oat taste (despite being 100% oat) you get to enjoy the flavoring on top. And it's good! Not very strong but strong enough to fulfill that chip craving. You'd expect the first oat chips in the world (as the packaging boasts) to be a bit experimental, but these are by far the best oat chips I've had.

More oat chips after a long while without.

Fun triangular shape gets points from me. The structure is otherwise nice too, although it looks nothing like the image on the bag. The pieces are relatively thick and gently curved, sharing only the geometric shape with corn chips.

I wish they had more flavoring. I was really hoping. But no, they fall into the same trap as every other grain chip in that they just don't want to make them like regular chips. There's an unspoken rule that if you make your chips out of anything other than potato that means they need to be lesser in every other way too. When will the chip makers free themselves of this self-imposed marketing prison?

So yeah, while the flavoring is pretty nice, there's just not enough of it. Meh.

Structure-wise these suffer from the same issue the old Linkosuo rye chips did - the inner surface of the chips is so rough and the structure of the chip a little too thick to make it comfortable to bite. Not the worst offenders of that trend though.

Oh they oaty! Although it's an aftertaste, the oat cookie memory springs into my head when eating these. Unlike many other grain chips they don't have any wheat, which could explain it. Much prefer oats over wheat.

They might have used the same scream mix as they did with their potato chips. Maybe. It's a little hard to tell with the oat pushing through. But they're not bad at all. What they lost in structure to the rye chips they made back in flavor.

Linkosuo oat lentil chips (Finland)

What a bizarre shape choice: concave rectangles with pointy corners. No matter how you put these in your mouth, they're gonna poke you somewhere. It's just not a good shape, simply put.

The flavor is exactly like how the rye chips used to be, so it's mild and doesn't really do enough to make up for the fact that you're not eating potato.

The biggest flaw here is the shape. It's also the only scream bag I've ever seen that has pictures of garlic on it.
