The Visionary patted the bottom of the container she found herself trapped in. It was so dark that even her alien eyes could not see. Her twin hearts thudded in her ears as she tried to focus on finding a way out.
She could feel vibrations and knew she was being transported somewhere. However, the vibrations were not that of an engine. In fact, if she really thought about it, it felt more like swaying. In fact, she was sure of it. Was she on a boat? Even then she should still pick up the engine. No, she was certain, her current speculation was wrong.
She continued to feel in the dark, focusing on getting out. Suddenly, she felt a latch near the edge of the container. She pulled it, expecting the wall in front of her to open. Instead, the floor dropped out in front of her, and she fell into the abyss. She was just in time to grab onto the edge. She looked up and saw that the container was being carried by air balloon.
She looked down and gasped, she was gliding over a village. It was a good thing she was no longer in the incarnation that was afraid of heights. Around her were approximate fifty other containers like the one she'd been inside. Did they have people inside them too? She pondered.
Her long legs swayed. She felt the bitter cold of the wind biting through her trench coat and time suit. The balloon picked up speed as the wind picked up. Of course, she could hold on much longer than a human would, but even she couldn't hold on forever.
Eventually, the balloon passed over a lake. Deciding that was better than nothing, she let go. The Visionary plummeted down into the water. It was a moment before she resurfaced and a few minutes before she reached the shoreline.
She was freezing and threw off her trench coat because it only made it worse. She stood on the shoreline in just her time suit - a black one piece jumpsuit. She went to rub her hands together, but felt pain. She looked at them, her hands were covered with blisters and deep cuts.
The Visionary gazed at her trench coat. Her first aide kit was probably soaked, so she settled on another way. "Let's see if I still remember how to do this." When she believed she was alone, she took a deep breath then closed her eyes and focused. She summoned forth controlled regeneration energy and healed them.
When she opened her eyes she realized she wasn't alone.
"You saw that, didn't you?" She felt incredibly stupid and embarrassed.
