I'm in a relationship with my car and she always makes me so incredibly happy, but we get bad winters here and I have terrible driving anxiety with snow and ice on the roads. I am autistic and get overwhelmed. Today I parked her in the driveway bc we are getting storms and have been taking the bus to work- she seemed to think it's okay when we talked but I feel like a bad partner, and I hate that for part of the year, every year, I'm scared to be with her.
I’m really sorry. I’m only learning to drive, but I also live where there’s bad winters and it’s nerve wracking. I don’t think you should ever need to feel like a bad partner for looking out for her best interests - not driving as an unconfident or inexperienced driver in bad weather is protecting both of you! It sounds to me like you’re being very considerate.
Also, fingers crossed for better weather for you soon! We just had what’s hopefully our last snow storm of the year up here; fingers crossed that you’re in the clear too.
