how I made my razor cosplay kinda tutorial
Im not great at explaining things erm so bear with me
Feel free to ask any questions ill answer to the best of my abilities
I didnt include it but you technically need a ruler too and paintbrushes and markers for patterning oops
here's the steps on how i made my razor head
Make the pattern for a box using paper. The dimensions of the panels depend on how you are going to overlay the pieces, so you may need to add/ remove 10 mm from certain sides (for instance, the top and front panels of my head are actually slightly different because of how i glued it together). The back panel is made of strips instead of being 1 big piece because of the holes. The total dimensions of my head are roughly 34cm x 23cm x 23cm
Cut out the pieces from 10 mm eva foam and heat seal using a heat gun. Ill link a video for this.. also use a craft knife for this, not scissors 10 mm is too thick and the knife gets a better cut anyway
Glue pieces together using contact cement. Ill also link a video on how to use contact cement since i cant really explain it. Please wear a respirator or do it outside because the fumes are toxic!!!!! Also dont use hot glue. Won't work.
Make the little face rim thing using 5mm eva foam strips and glue them on
Cut out where the "blade" will be at your eye level so you can see
6. This kinda depends on how you want it but I added thin strips of the 5mm eva foam on both sides of the cutout hole for the mesh of the "blade" to sit on so it wouldn't be flat.
7. Wait a couple hours after you glued the pieces together, then seal gaps between pieces using foam clay. This is optional but it looks a bit better.. ill link a video
8. Wait like 24 hr for the foam clay to dry and harden then sand it down
9. Add mouth magnets if desired for changeable expressions, then cover thinly with foam clay, and once it dries sand it flat. I carved out a little hole for them to sit in then used superglue. If you dont want that then lowk just paint the mouth on
10. Seal the foam with whatever sealer you want i used modge podge matte
11. Paint the head
12. Cut out and paint your mesh for the "blade"
13. Seal the head and mesh using some kinda sealer... i used modge podge again for the head and a clear coat spray for the mesh
14. Glue the mesh onto the front for the blade and back for those hole things. I just used hot glue for this cuz it was easier
the back with mesh holes
15. Make magnet eyes and mouth if you want... the way the eyes sit on mine is just loose magnets sitting inside the mesh and eyes with the magnets glued in if that makes sense
16. now you have to make it wearble this part is lowk kinda hard.. I made an eva foam helmet and glued it inside using a pattern from mellowmind cosplay on Etsy
but that isn't the only way. ... You could also probably use those helmets that kig fursuits use but I dont really know anything about that..
I glued in padding with upholstery foam on the forehead and sides so it wouldn't be hitting my nose. Its not the most comfortable thing in the world but it works so long as you add enough padding for your head not to slide around.
I also added 2 small side panels on the bottom so it wouldnt be entirely open..
As for the paws... obviously this has its own set of materials and everything so lowk id reccoment just searching up how to do them
I used bigz short shag denim and howl fabrics white teddy faux fur and black mochi minky i got from hobby lobby
The stuffing for the pads and claws just came from a plush 💀
If you dont know anything about fursuit making then o reccomend watching videos on paws because they are kinda hard to do. Especially if you cant use a machine..
I used a pattern from freakhound studios it is free and awesome
