In the photo above we see shards of white ceramic material, sitting on what may be bricks or different rusted metals. Surrounding the ceramic material are a bunch of leaves and debris. Over top of this is a white powdery snow. It seems to be as if the snow has just fallen. We see the texture of the ceramic material seems to have smooth surfaces and rough edges. Where as the leaves, and other surrounding materials seems as if they have a rougher texture.
In my photography class we were given an assignment to photograph an ordinary everyday object. The object I chose was a plain white coffee mug. The goal of the assignment was to get creative. In order to do this I put the coffee mug in snow, therefore the snow would stay stuck to the mug. Then I found this black tarp covered with snow. Since the snow was white, and the mug was white, I figured the black tarp would be a nice contrast of color. Then I found this old tube laying nearby, so I placed it in my photo. In the photo I placed the object on the tarp, laying on the tube. Then I photographed the object in the corner of the photo so that you could see the details around the mug, while still focusing on the mug itself. The important secondary objects in the photo are the tube and the black tarp. When I photographed this photo it was early in the morning, so that the light from the sun wasn’t coming directly down. Also it was snowing outside and a little windy.
