“Look how cute these pens are.”
“Connor we've been dating- Look at how cute these pens are vine
Markus loves spending time with Connor. He always had, even when they barely knew each other and their lives were chaotic, their relationship nothing more than professional.
Now, however, it's much, much better. Markus can take Connor out, can kiss him if he wants, can spend hours doing nothing but lying on the couch and cuddling while the stress glides off him, and, the best thing, he can spoil him. He loves spoiling Connor, one thing he discovered after they started dating. He loves seeing the surprise and smiles on Connor's face whenever he gets him something.
Today, he didn't even mean to get anything for him. He just saw this cute little thing on his way to Connor and had to give it to him. When he arrives and gives it to his boyfriend, the adorable smile and spinning of his LED make Markus himself smile too, his chest filling with happiness as he enters Connor's home.
As Connor puts away the present, Markus wraps his arms around him from behind, making Connor tilt his head slightly. “Markus?”
Markus hums, resting his chin on Connor's shoulder, waiting for him to continue.
“Why do you always give me presents?”
Markus chuckles slightly. “Because,” He says. “I like to spoil my boyfriend.”
Connor frowns, turning around in Markus’ arms to look at him, LED spinning yellow. “I wasn't aware our relationship status had updated to boyfriends.”
For a moment, Markus is stunned, looking in Connor's brown eyes to see whether this is another one of his jokes where he pretends to be clueless, but he seems completely serious.
“Connor, we've been dating for three months.” He blurts out.
Connor stares at him for a moment, LED spinning faster before realization dawns on his face. “Oh,” He drags the word out, as if the world suddenly makes sense. “That explains a lot.”
“Connor,” Markus pulls back, doubt suddenly flooding his mind. “Did you not realize what we were doing? Do you even want this? Because if you don't-”
“No,” Connor quickly hold him. “No, I really do want this, what we're doing, you make me happy. I just thought... I didn't realize we were dating.”
Through the realization that he makes Connor happy, Markus cocks his head to the side. “Then what did you think we were doing?”
Connor shrugs, eyes gliding to the side. “I assumed we were still trying things out, like Hank said.”
Brown eyes shine innocently as Connor casually responds. “Markus, I'm two years old, my concept of time is not equal to yours.”
That makes Markus chuckles. It's easy to forget how new to the world Connor is, and it often slips Markus’ mind. He steps closer again, letting his arms rest on Connor's shoulders and intertwining his fingers behind his head. “Well, Mr. two years old. Do you want to, officially, be my boyfriend?”
Connor smiles, a smile more beautiful than any gift can draw from him, and his eyes twinkle. “I'd love to.”
