Charnette loves to torture me by making me think of my past and my love for books.
Rules: In a text post, list ten books that have stayed with you in some way. Don’t take but a few minutes, and don’t think too hard — they don’t have to be the “right” or “great” works, just ones that have touched you. Tag ten friends. Make sure you let your friends know you’ve tagged them!
1. Alive by Peirs Paul Read (a required book for class that changed the way I look at life) 2. The Harry Potter Series by JK Rowling (I was tempted to count this for seven slots) 3.The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde (I know its a play. But it’s the cleverest work of written fiction ever, in my opinion) 4. The Fault In Our Stars by John Green (A tragic and beautiful look at cancer and death) 5. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen (I learned a lot about me from this) 6. Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck (Cemented the importance of looking out for others) 7. Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls (The only book my Dad read to me) 8. The B.F.G. By Roald Dahl (the first chapter book I got through on my own which was a HUGE deal) 9. Dragon’s Milk by Susan Fletcher (my favorite teacher read it to us and was the reason I got into reading as a hobby) 10. The Work and the Glory series by Gerald Lund (the main motivation behind my first novel written at age 13)
(I know I took more than a few minutes but I just wanted to say why they were important to me, a little.)
