“Are you sure we can’t ditch this party?” You heard Bucky call from the bathroom, sweet vanilla scented steam spilling through the open door into your bedroom. “I mean, we did attend the last one.”
“And what would you rather do, mister?” You chuckled from your spot at the body length mirror, where you inspected your oufit, making sure everything looked exactly how you wanted.
A few silent footsteps through the room and two strong arms found their way around your middle, Bucky’s stubble covered chin scratching lightly at the exposed skin of your neck.
“How about we just stay here and have fun on our own?” He murmured, hugging you close to his body. Despite not being in the mood for parties, he took his time appreciatively looking you over, a slow smile gracing his face.
Before he could talk you out of it (which he was perfectly capable of), you turned in his embrace and took his face in your hands, thumbs gently stroking his cheeks. You were happy to notice that at least he had his trousers and his nice black dress shirt on, even if the latter was still unbuttoned, revealing his bare chest.
“Come on, Buck, it’s Wanda’s birthday. Let’s go hang out for a bit and then we can mysteriously disappear like we always do.” Bucky sighed at the pleasant caress on his face and you knew you had him in your grasp - he always did become putty in your hands. “Can I do your hair?”
Bucky opened his eyes, startled. “What do you wanna do to my hair?”
“Nothing drastic, honey. I was thinking of combing it back like you did for our first date.” You said as your ran your fingers through his soft brown locks, getting an idea for how that would look like.
“Oh, you liked that, didn’t you?”
“I did agree to a second date, didn’t I?” You countered with a chuckle.
Bucky let you do that for a few seconds, a pleased hum like a purr leaving him. He then pulled you towards your makeup table and sat on the plush stool in front of it. “What’s the point, if you’re gonna mess it up later anyway?” He smirked at you once you started gathering all the tools you needed.
You shrugged, a smirk of your own mirroring his. “It’s fun to make a mess of you.”
I'm so excited for drabbles! Can I request 15 with Sam? Maybe it's after a mission, and reader seeking comfort from secret boyfriend Sam, realizes that his clothes are all things that she specifically said she enjoyed seeing guys wear.
I kind of diverted from this idea a little, but I hope you enjoy this anyway! Thank you for requesting!
15. slowly accumulating items that’s more your style than theirs
"Sam?" You whisper yell into the dark room, but no answer comes. Some shuffling down the corridor catches your attention and you immediately jump inside and close the door behind you. It's better that no one catches you sneaking into Captain America's room in the middle of the night.
It was generally frowned up for the medical staff to date their patients. Who can blame you though, when one of your frequent patients is a handsome brown-eyed smooth talker that just so happens to have a pair of hightech wings and a pair of delicious thighs.
The light from Sam's en suite bathroom catches your attention and soon you're kocking on the door gently, not wanting to startle him. He just came back from a pretty rough mission, and since you've seen his wounds first hand, you wanted to make sure he's okay after being discharged.
The door swings open, revealing a shirtless Sam Wilson. The interested look he gives you makes your knees shake just a little.
"Came to join me?" He grins at you. You roll your eyes playfully.
"I wanted to make sure you're feeling okay." He lets go of the cocky act easily and cups your face in his hands, leaning in for a peck on the lips.
"I'm alright, baby. Thanks for stitching me up." He kisses your forehead next and steps back. "I was just gonna shower. Wanna come in, or..?"
You groan, because hell yeah you want to join Sam Wilson in the shower, but you still have three hours of your shift and about 15 minutes of your break left. You tell him so and he sighs, clearly disappointed.
"Can you grab me some clothes from the dresser?" He asks as he moves back inside the bathroom, leaving the door open for you.
You look through a few drawers - some pants, underwear, and you're about to grab a plain white tshirt, when you notice a deep red cashmere sweater. Sam doesn't really wear sweaters, he likes a casual shirt plus jacket combo usually, or a sweatshirt when he wants to be comfortable. As you stroke the soft fabric of the sweater, you recall showing Sam a few fashion accounts on Instagram and pointing out some mens clothes you liked the look of.
You never expected him to go an buy himself a cashmere sweater, but you can't wait to cuddle up to him as he wears it. Sam himself is warm and somewhat soft despite all that muscle - the soft sweater will only make him more heavenly.
With that in mind, you gather the clothes, close the drawer and head back to the bathroom, where your boyfriend is whistling to himself in the shower.
Can I request a soulmate au between reader & Sam Wilson? I don't have many details in mind but fluff is always welcome. I just really love fluff.
i’m sorry this took so long but here it is and it’s a bit longer because i got so into it omg!! soulmates!!!!
No one really knows how to find their soulmate. Some people say it's something in the person's eyes, like a glint or a sparkle. Some say it's the way a person's smile makes your heart stutter and flutter. Some even say it's like having an extra sense that pulls you straight in the arms of the one person that's mean to be yours.
With less than 5% of the population being known to have found their soulmates, as you grew up, you have come to call it all bullshit legends. That is, of course, until you found yourself in the middle of another nonsense alien invasion on New York, because apparently there aren't any other cities on this planet.
Your morning was completely normal and mundane, just your typical Tuesday. A long and smelly trip on the underground, a boring morning briefing with your manager and the rest of your department, the printer needed a kick or two to get its shit together. The moment you sat down in the break room and had a bite of the sandwich you had been daydreaming about from the moment you entered the building, a loud crash, followed by shrieks resounded on the street outside. You opened the blinds to the sight of some rabid alien monkey screeching at you through the glass. You closed the blinds immediately.
"I hate this fucking job." You groaned and made your way out the door just as the alarm started blaring.
You probably should've cared more and ran faster, but really, this was the third alien invasion in the past six months and you were extremely unbothered by it. You followed your panicked coworkers down the staircase and you hoped that the emergency evacuation coach wasn't parked five blocks away like last time, because that's just annoying. You could be eaten alive by the time you made it there.
"Come on everyone, move it, move it!" A vaguely familiar male voice called from the last floor. Probably one of the security guards or managers.
As you neared the last level, you saw who it was. It was definitely not a managed or a security guard or even a policeman. Apparently your building was graced with the famous Avengers evacuating you. As your coworkers slowly moved down the stairs, you took your chance to check out the handsome fighters. The one closest to the door was waving people forward with a metal arm that faintly glinted in the midday sun. He was covered in dust and had some blood on his forehead, so you figured he already met the Earth's newest invaders.
The second man, standing close to the stairs and helping whoever struggled to get down, held your attention immediately. Now, you were no Avenger-fangirl like half your office, but you may have always had a secret thing for the flying wonder of the team. You watched Sam Wilson help an older woman down the last few steps, as she was shaking so hard she could barely walk. He assured her that everything was going to be alright and shot her the most blinding smile you have ever witnessed, the little gap between his front teeth even more endearing in person than it was on tv.
The people in front of you kept on moving and the moment Sam Wilson turned his attention back to the stairs, your eyes locked and it was like time stopped for a moment and the panicked chatter around you went silent. It was like one of those scene in a movie where the girl descend the stairs in a beautiful gown and her beloved waits for her at the bottom of the stairs, eyes full of adoration focused only on her.
Except you were wearing plain jeans and a green cardigan, he was wearing a dust-covered battle suit and there was an invasion going on outside. Oh well, could've been worse, you thought.
You took his outstretched hand and let him guide you off the last few steps. You weren't sure exactly what it was, but somewhere in your heart you just felt like this is him. It must be him. You didn't take your eyes off each other even for a second and your cheeks were starting to hurt from the smile that wouldn't leave you face.
"Hi." You breathed. Sam stared at you for a moment, then shook his head as if trying to clear it.
"Hey, uh- This is gonna sound very weird but uhh..." He began but couldn't really get his thoughts in order. He licked his lips, which immediately drew your attention to them. Those were some nice looking lips.
"Look, I know we don't know each other but I think you might be my soulmate." He slipped his red goggles up on his forehead and smiled that gorgeous smile again. "I'm Sam, by the way."
You squeezed his hand that you were still holding. "Y/N. Um, listen, I'd really love to talk but I don't wanna keep you from your work."
Sam glanced towards the street and sighed. "Yeah, that's a bummer." He faced you again with a pleading look. "Can we meet after this mess?"
"Sure. I'll just..uh, come find you at the Tower? If it's still standing later?" You offered, as you didn't have a way to give him your number just now. It was convenient to know he can be easily found in the Avengers HQ in Manhattan though.
Sam laughed at your nonchalance and pulled you towards the doors. "Alright, follow the crowd to the emergency coaches. And you better be careful or you'll be in big trouble!" He scolded you playfully, earning a very confused look from Sergeant Barnes.
You stood on your tiptoes and placed a quick kiss to his cheek. "Have fun avenging!" And so, you were gone. Sam couldn't wait till they have dealt with the invasion and he could get to know you.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'll scream it from the mountain tops if I have to, but I love when you go full kpop stan. Your excitment is so lovely. BTS may not be my favorite group but I do love them and I get so happy seeing you love them. It may be silly but it gives me a case of the warm fuzzies.
you’re so freaking cute and i love you so much for it ❤❤❤❤
I just want to take a second to go back to drunk gremlin. She's a total lightweight but is the first person to agree to a night out drinking. Also drinking contests. Like you said girl is in denial. One time she challenged Thor and got so drunk she was hungover for like three days. But Thor got some nice compliments and the two are besties. She makes Thor almost want to stay on earth all the time. Almost.
How to befriend Thor:
1. Get fucked up with him
2. Say nice thing
3. Success!
Thor might not be so easy on stayong on Earth for a long time, BUT he would totally invite her to space adventures, and she would immediately run off to pack a bag. Until Sharon gives her the Unimpressed Mom look and she puts her stuff back with a pout.
(Sharon would totally let her go if at least one of the boys went with her tho)
What's your favorite part of the writing process? And slightly unrelated, what is your favorite part of the soulmate trope?
I think the best part is when I get a fresh new idea and I feel inspired to plan out a new piece, or when I come up with the perfect piece of dialogue. Everything else is just.....various levels of stressedt, com
As for the soulmate trope...ahh just the concept of there being a perfect person for everyone out there and that person loving their soulmate no matter what? Beautiful. but also sad as fuck, because it’s not a real thing 🤷♀️
For Chtistmas, the smart new recruit gets Sam and Bucky gifts. They open them to find hideously, ugly Christmas sweaters. I'm talking full on glitter, working lights, a button the plays music, the works. And on the front of Sam's it says Dumb*ss. And on Bucky's it says Bigger Dumb*ss. They agree to never wear them. But then all of the laundry machines break and those are the only clean shirts they have. She laughs maniacally at them for matching.
all the machines break, because the little gremlin went and trashed them all overnight. sure, she didn’t have any normal clothes left to wear either, but was it worth it? fuck yeah!
also the boys get their revenge by following her around and constantly playing the music on their sweater until the batteries die, which doesn’t happen soon, because recruit thought she was being smart when she put in the best batteries she could find lmao
