Angelique Trouvare was a well known fan who attended conventions in the 70s, and was the first person to become well known for what we today call “cosplay.” Most of her outfits were risque and bold, like Vampirella, Satana, or Red Sonja, but out of sheer whimsy, and to call greater attention to her costuming skills, she made her own daggit costume.
