Jongin knew that his baking skills were sub-par. But with the help of Valkenhayn it wouldn’t be too terrible, at the least no one would get sick from eating it. He required both Nago and Gii’s help to decorate the place with the most obnoxious birthday decorations he could find. Of course the three of them weren’t the most ideal at doing anything productive especially since only recently had Jongin gotten over his fear of Nago. The icing on the cake was done nicely by Valkenhayn but when Jongin tried to write “happy birthday” it ended squished together and somewhat messy. For him none of the party preparations were the hard part - it was figuring out what to get Rachel that she’d like. Normally he wouldn’t worry too much because it was the thought that counts but this was Rachel he was talking about. If he got her something dumb he could already foresee the judgmental look that she would burn him with. It’s Jongin after all - she should expect either something really dumb or something super cheesy. He never had been a good gift giver but putting thought into it helped some. Not to mention he’s asked everyone gift ideas: he ended up wrapping somewhat lopsided the present which he leaves to Gii to put somewhere Rachel cannot find. He’s not even sure where she is but thankful it spares him some time to hastily set up everything. Jongin, embarrassingly, had found a costume to wear since she was born on Halloween and it seemed appropriate to go with a costume party theme. After all he was her knight (more she was his) so nothing seemed more apparent to him. “Okay, everything is ready.” He says with a sigh wondering if he’s forgetting anything. Cake, decorations, presents, people - he mentally checked off everything. Now they just needed a Rachel.

Reckless:My muse does something dangerous for yours

Pulling the hood over her dark jacket, Jaekyung’s gaze fixated to the area around her; it was late night and it’s dark outside, surely everything gets two times scarier at night. She hugged the jacket close to her frail body, shivering slightly due to the cold night breeze, she continued her steps and followed the instruction given by the older earlier.

She could hear faint voice of the music blasting, alongside with people cheering – she surely had gotten close to her destination, or so she hoped she was close enough because god knows how much longer she could bear the walk down the dark area filled with bushes. 

As she was getting close, bright neon lights and loud music blasting through the speaker greeted her; she could see few people dancing to the music, some were obviously drunk from the way they would smile drunkenly at her when she walked past the crowd to find the older woman. Soon, she found the latter sitting on the corner; observing the place, Jaekyung sighed in relief as she approached her. “Unnie,” she greeted, sitting down beside her with a long sigh, “I’m never doing this again, this was dangerous, and I’m totally clueless to these things. Why would anyone held a party at an abandoned pool? This is nuts” she frowned slightly, earning a round of laughter from the woman who seemed to be amused by her words. "well, welcome to adult world, Jaekyung."

He needs to put up a better security system in his home, with how easily she was able to get into here but then again, she had the advantage of her powers to aid her a little. Maybe those spells that helps ward off beings would do some good for the house. But that is not the main point right now, spotting him asleep on the couch before she goes over to hide behind the couch. Shaking up the smoke spray she has, she began spraying it and used wind to help spread it out. "Fire! There's a fire!"

He often finds himself sleeping in odd places and at odd times. Naturally it was apart of who he was. Lately, he had been better about not randomly drifting off in the middle of the work day or during conversations but when he gets home a bit early he finds himself plummeting on the couch cuddling up to his pillows before dozing off into a dreamless sleep. Most days he doesn’t lock the door often having a few guests which he refused to give keys to because they were bothersome or they didn’t need keys. (Jongin has quite the many supernaturals around him of late.) When his bleary eyes open at the sound of her voice it startles him, jumping up only to get his feet tangled with the blanket drapped at the end of the sofa and smacking right into the floor before he is coherent enough to understand what is happening. “RACHEL!” He says with a frown rubbing his eyes. “That was such a Nago thing to do. Was this payback for the dancing thing?” But he doesn’t have it in him to be mad at her.

☽ = wandering alone at night

For a while now she had been walking around, kind of trying to find the right way to head home, the streets always looked so different once the lights were out. Besides, there weren’t many people around to ask for directions. So when she finally stumbled upon another female, there was no hesitance. ‘Excuse me, can I ask you something?’ she asked, hoping to not have scared the female by jumping out of the darkness so suddenly.

“A lot has changed since you’ve been away, but I think you know that.”

A lot has changed. She’s been hearing this often lately, and it makes her feel melancholic in a way she refuses to accept. Prior to her having to leave Seoul, things used to be better but now that she’s come back it’s as though she’s dragged a grey veil that she’s created in Busan with her. With that in mind, the other female’s unceremoniousness makes things more bearable for Hanna who doesn’t seem to know any longer what to do with all this new information. It’s starting to become too much; but that’s just reality. Always shoving the worst things into your face when you least expect it.

A delicate hand pats the empty spot next to her; a silent prompt for Rachel to come and join her. The younger’s been feeling so overwhelmed lately that she appreciates a moment of calmness, of just talking without someone expecting something of her. Perhaps she could obtain more information too, and ask the female what she had been doing during Hanna’s absence.

❝So I’ve been told.❞

It’s only now that she realizes what every protagonist of a book is talking about when they say that you need to appreciate you’ve got while you still have it. Once you lose it, it might be gone for good and you will never be able to express your gratitude for that; it’s a thought that shocks the young woman, leaves its mark on her face with an expression that isn’t hard to read as she glances up at the other. ❝Have you changed too?❞

‘Miss, do you happen to have a bandaid with you?’ Of course it was very much like her clumsy self to trip over pretty much nothing, she had fortunately managed to catch her fall with her hands and therefor hadn’t hurt herself really badly but in the process her palms had kind of scraped along the concrete causing her skin to have gotten damaged and soon enough a few minor trails or blood were running down her wrist. It didn’t hurt too badly, she was mostly just trying to prevent the blood from dirtying her white clothes.

Those messages were a complete waste. If only he was more patient and waited two more minutes instead of intersecting her line of reply, he would’ve save those split seconds. Not that It’s enough to ease the weight on his shoulders, of course. ‘She’s already here’ usually, he’d request for his assistant to retrieve packages sent to him to avoid any unnecessary interaction , however, since the female he’d only met yesterday afternoon decided to return his garment in person told him the next few hours will be quite bother some. Eighty-eight agreed. He has been inside the office since nine o’clock this might just be a reasonable excuse to leave his table cluttered with A4 sized importance.

“I apologize again on his behalf” his hand grasped the thin strings attached to the paper bag containing his blazer he offered her due to the incident later yesterday. It was counted, the seconds dragging before the arguably more uncomfortable one replaces It. Eighty-eight suggested he says something to end the centuries-long sight contact, but as usual It’s expected that he backs away without a proper ending. 

“Miss Lee, would you please accompany her” a subtle nod appeared. Not a smile of course. ‘Hongbin, you’ve improved’

☮:An argument I think my muse would have with yours.

       {{ It was hard for me to think of an argument our muses could have ( maybe after we have more interactions i’ll think of more original and interesting one heh ) but i think it’d be about Minhee not taking good enough care about herself with the numerous jobs that cause the lack of sleep while she is trying to scold the other to live a healthier life for example. ( since Minhee doesn’t tell people about her problem with money it’s hard for them to understand the reason for her to have such hectic work schedule) Also they could have an argument about it being dangerous to have lack of sleep for her since she works with the patients and it increases the chances of the risk. But we can discuss other situations if you are interested in plotting c: }}
