I'm not even sure if I get to call it a happy ending cause Arion is met with a pair of boiling pod leaders. And Cetus is just in kicked puppy mode. :,)

In the future yes! But if it's sooner rather than later depends on if this big-little guy from here gathers the guts to return. xD

But yea, Cetus really needs a connection with a fellow mer. It doesn't have to be his soulmate (but oh it would make everything right), since freshwater mers form their own pairs if they've been alone for too long, in hopeful wait for their soulmate.

Plus Cetus is sociable for a freshwater mer (how he grew up factors in a bit), so while most would Not want to hang with more than one person (their bonded) at a time*, Cetus is happy to chill with up to three (his caretakers). Granted that the chemistry is right ofc! Too many people will still stress him out. :)

Yeah, and Arion's a little dense too I'm afraid. So he's convinced that Cetus was absolutely out to get him. xD Cetus is curious, but he's mostly longing to make a connection with another mer. As much as he loves his three humans they just can't substitute the relation he'd have with a fellow mer (even if platonic).
