The creature belongs to @muppenthings
Amorette groaned and heaved herself up. She pulled herself to her feet and stumbled over to the fingertip. When she reached it, she fell against it and sighed, giving it a reassuring pat.
"Th… thank you," she breathed, hugging onto the mountain of flesh. A rumbling vibration was sent through her as the creature hummed in relief, followed by a low-pitched squeal. She winced from the volume but smiled nonetheless.
Her surroundings darkened, a massive shadow falling over her. She turned to see the creature lowering his head. He rested his nose at the base of his palm. His nostrils flared, sending a warm breeze that blew her hair back even from afar. She nervously laughed, shielding her face.
The creature's eyes lit up. He rumbled happily, bringing a finger to his nose and tapping the bridge of his nose. Amorette's brow furrowed until a second later, she understood.
She sighed, shaking her head, "Okay, okay. I'm coming."
The creature mumbled a squeal, as if he was trying to be quiet. Was he trying to for her?
She stumbled forward, walking down his palm. He patiently waited, remaining still as she closed the distance. After a solid minute or half of just walking, she stopped within an arm's reach of his blue skin.
He lurched forward, slamming into Amorette. She gasped, collapsing onto him. A low hum rumbled beneath her and rattled her bones. Warm breath blew around her ankles.
She took a deep breath and relaxed into the strange embrace. Her fingers curled back, and she began scratching his nose, hoping it felt pleasant and not like an annoying tickle. By the way he hummed, it was clear he didn't feel that way.
She strained her neck to look up at his eyes. They were half closed, and their irises had expanded. Amorette stared back in awe. Awe that she was still alive, and that she could ever affect a creature of his size.
The creature's eyes suddenly widened. Far quicker than a being his size should be able to move, he pulled away and held his head up. Amorette stumbled back in shock, heart hammering from the sudden shifting landscape around her.
His ears stood at attention, turned in the same direction, listening. The smile that had adorned his lips had disappeared; now they were pressed into a thin line and quivering. His eyes darted around nervously before settling back on Amorette.
She backed away, "Wha… what's wrong?"
He looked away and up again. She turned around to try to see what he was seeing, but his fingers blocked her view of the horizon. Said fingers twitched and began to curl inward. The ground shifted beneath her, and she threw out her arms for balance. When the palm had settled, she whipped her head back around.
The creature had brought her closer, eyes narrowed at the distance. She gulped; this paranoid look was similar to the one she had first met him with. When he had been agitated and-
His gaze fell back upon her, expression shifting from paranoia to worry. An epiphany quickly flashed behind his eyes, and his gaze hardened. Amorette opened her mouth to say something only to nearly jump out of her skin. Something pressed against her. She stumbled and fell back as one of the creature's claws slid beneath her and scooped her up.
It leveled out and she scrambled to right herself, "What are… you…"
Her eyes widened as she looked up. The creature's jaws parted. She froze, all the color draining from her face. A lilac pink, cavernous maw was all she could see, and it was getting closer.
She scrambled back to the very edge of the fingernail, "W-wait! What are you doing?!"
The finger holding her drew closer. Amorette's stomach sank as the creature's lips and teeth passed above her. Everything grew dark and the surface beneath her began to tilt. She yelped and frantically tried to find something to grab onto, but it was too late.
She fell and landed on something damp and spongy. She froze, trembling all over and looked up. For a split second, her view of the outside world and her only source of light was framed by two rows of teeth.
Then the jaws snapped shut.
There was nothing but darkness.
A shiver ran down her spine as a symphony of strange new sounds reached her ears. A rhythmic booming echoed from far below along with a nauseating churning. Loudest of all was the constant whooshing of air from above and behind her.
Amorette trembled all over. A cold sweat broke out upon her skin, in stark contrast to the humid air around her. She gulped, and tentatively felt around her. Dozens of little lumps rose beneath her, wet to the touch. She wrenched her hands away and frantically shook away the liquid, her brain catching up and realizing what it was.
"Ew, ew, ew,ew, ew!" She whispered, sitting up and attempting to wipe off the saliva.
A low, amplified rumbling shook her surroundings. She slammed her hands over her ears and winced. Without warning, everything began to shift.
The bumpy muscle beneath her tilted. She screamed as she slid down it in an unknown direction. Her legs shot out and kicked, she clawed and scrambled for a handhold in an attempt to stop her decent but it was all too slippery.
Oh… oh gods… he's going to-
She slammed into something solid and hard, falling onto her hands and knees. This new surface was sleek and dense, almost like-
She yelped, getting to her feet and backing away. To her horror, her foot nearly slipped into a crack that all but confirmed her suspicions of what she was standing on.
Amorette fell back to her knees and pounded her fists against the incisor beneath her, "S-stop! Stop! Let-"
She screamed as her surroundings shifted again. She fell and once again landed onto the spongy, bumpy surface.
Everything settled around her. Even then, she remained flat against the tongue, shaking like a leaf. Her clothes stuck to her, and strands of hair were plastered against her cheeks. Warmth surrounded her, humid, salty air filling her nostrils.
Another low rumble shook her to her core. She squeezed her eyes shut, unable to bring herself to do anything but listen. A deep squeal followed the rumble, almost like a question or… or whine.
She opened her eyes and slowly raised her head. Another, higher-pitched whine echoed around her that made her duck and recoil.
She took a deep breath, scrambling to piece things together with whatever logic remained. Okay… okay… he hasn't swallowed, he hasn't swallowed. B-but… but what if he's going to- Nope! No, don't think like that!
Amorette pushed herself off her stomach and sat up. She continued to breathe in and out, gradually slowing her panicked insides down.
A rumbling whine echoed around her, shaking the tongue beneath her. Once again, it sounded almost like a question.
She tentatively reached out and patted the spongy ground, "H…hello?"
The creature hummed back, a hint of relief in his wordless tone.
"Um…" she gulped, "P…please tell me you aren't planning on… swallowing?"
She doubted- no, she knew he didn't understand, but that didn't stop her from wanting an answer. It didn't stop her from trembling all over.
Another rumble echoed around her. The ground shifted beneath her, causing her to panic. She yelped and instinctively jumped to her feet. Hugging herself as tightly as she could, she looked around blindly in the darkness.
Everything lurched forward. She fell and slammed back into his tongue. Taste buds rippled beneath her as she began to slide backwards, everything around her tilting.
She frantically scrambled for a hand-hold but kept sliding back. The whooshing of air grew louder. She squeezed her eyes shut and screamed.
With the force of a freight train, she was thrown forward, the ground disappearing out from under her. She landed with a pronounced splat and continued to slide along until that very ground rose and halted her.
A distant, muffled splash reached her ears. Everything stopped moving, and a blinding light spilled in. Two rows of colossal teeth parted, and the jaws trapping her opened wide. On the other side was a leathery blue palm.
The tongue moved beneath her, sending her tumbling down it. After rolling down the length of it, she fell right into the creature's hand.
Her head spun, and she just lay there, ready to throw up. She slowly rose to her hands and knees, clutching her chest.
Amorette yelped, nearly jumping out of her skin when something touched her. She scrambled back, backpedaling away from the massive clawed finger now right next to her.
A long, soft whine filled her ears. She looked up, still backing away.
The creature's face hung over her. His brows were furrowed, and his ears drooped lower than they ever had. Massive blue lips quivered, his eyes boring into her with worry. All she could focus on, though, was what she knew was behind those lips.
Amorette stared at his mouth, bracing for it to open at any second and lunge towards her.
The creature's eyes widened. He slapped a hand over his mouth and recoiled back, a muffled whine issuing out from behind his hand.
For a moment, she relaxed, her defenses starting to lower only to shoot back up. She wiped at her face and flung the saliva off.
"Wha… what were you doing?!" She stood up, continuing to try to wipe the filth off her, "I... I thought I could trust you! And then you go and try to eat me?!"
The creature recoiled even more, wincing. He regarded her sadly. His hand slowly began to lower away from him. It tilted, and Amorette tumbled down and off.
Expecting cold water to await her, she was in shock when she landed on solid ground. Familiar ground.
She whipped her head up, eyes wide. Her boat. She was on the bow of her boat.
Amorette stood up, staring in disbelief. B…but how was she here? How did she get… here…
