I might end up on anders rivalry path whenever I get around to juniper's playthrough (honestly, possibly everyone's except isabela's) but it'll be really weird if I do because from what I've seen it strongly assumes that the only reason you'd be headed down anders' rivalry path is because your hawke is pro-circle and. juniper isn't that she's just a cunt fhdkkjfkcj
man I gotta think harder about how Legacy fits into and informs Tabbitha Hawke's canon
like how Malcolm was so rigid and uncompromising and so opposed to blood magic. but he did it to protect his family and make a life for them. and how Tabby becomes a blood mage and an abomination. to protect her family. and make a life for them.
anyway I've been thinking about Rafael and how aspirational spirit healing is for him, how he's hung his hopes and dreams on that star, and how pissed to fuck he'd be if he's been striving his entire apprenticeship to prove himself Worthy of the attention of powerful spirits of healing and renewal and all he ends up with his this gay and stupid demon instead
I am of course thinking about my own OCs now (oh Trevelyans... the family that you are!) but once you've considered the propensity for noble families to pledge their youngest children to Chantry service as public proof of piety (and to preempt a significant amount of infighting over inheritance rights) as well as the prevalence of ~inconvenient~ noble-born mages we've encountered over the course of the series... one does start to wonder how many templar recruits were pledged to the service for the purpose of absolving their families of the private guilt and public embarrassment of having a mage child taken to the Circle
hmmmm the concept of tabby's spirit of perseverance devolving/corrupting into spite by the end of act 3 is almost too delicious to resist
sorry. sorry. I've spent the last decade bouncing wildly back and forth on potential romance options for alden trevelyan without any of them ever really clicking. it's just occurred to me that, thanks to his specific cocktail of childhood issues (cool significantly older brother taken away to the circle when he was very young, radically altering the course of his life forever) that if inquisition had a mage that was also like a daddy? it would be so over for him. like if dorian and blackwall were combined into the same character. like if vivienne were a bear. that's the missing piece he's secretly been yearning for this entire time. sorry.
hmmm the joke of wettest hawke (so sodden I still haven't bothered to name them) is kind of opposite the joke of juniper hawke. i.e. the most unlikeable hawke I can muster, but in entirely different ways. so if the joke of juniper hawke is that all demons desire her so carnally and she is just too over it all to notice or care then I guess the lived wettest hawke reality is that they would absolutely be prime demon-bait, if only someone would take an honest shot at it, but nobody wants them badly enough to really bother. tho I think by the end of the game wettest hawke could have succeeded in attracting the solid attention of an envy demon—canceled exalted march expansion style—and honestly by that point. they would crave the embrace of oblivion so badly they would not even think twice about it. if we're being so honest.
