I was playing some pokemon today, and wanted to see what kinds of trainers a few of the characters might be. I didn’t design these teams to be competitive at all, I just picked pokemon that they like or that I think suit them for whatever reason. A few of the pokemon were chosen because I imagined the scenario in which they’d meet, and I liked it (Still’s Ralts, Hots’ Beautifly, and Scanner’s Bagon are some of these). I might make this an AU and do a post or two about them, if I feel like it later.
(also, you cant see it but of course Hots has a ponytail)
(also i only did any sprite edits on Trajectory’s team. Trickshot’s skin should be a bit darker, and Hot Start’s top should be bright yellow)
Trajectory’s Pokemon:
Roserade (shiny) - Its sweet aroma attracts prey. Then it spews poison. The more toxic it is, the sweeter its aroma.
Arbok - With a very vengeful nature, it won't give up the chase, no matter how far, once it targets its prey.
Crobat - It flies so silently through the dark on its four wings that it may not be noticed even when nearby.
Mightyena - Mightyena travel and act as a pack in the wild. The memory of its life in the wild compels the pokémon to obey only those trainers that it recognizes to possess superior skill.
Gardevoir - It will try to guard its trusted Trainer with its life. It has the ability to see the future.
Banette - Banette generates energy for laying strong curses by sticking pins into its own body. This pokémon was originally a pitiful plush doll that was thrown away.
Blacknet’s Pokemon:
Luxray - When its eyes gleam gold, it can spot hiding prey--even those taking shelter behind a wall.
Steelix - Tempered underground under high pressure and heat, its body is harder than any metal.
Sharpedo - It can swim at speeds of 75 mph by jetting seawater through its body. It is the bandit of the sea.
Seviper - In battle, it uses its bladed tail to counter any Zangoose. It secretes a deadly venom in its tail.
Yanmega - Its jaw power is incredible. It is adept at biting apart foes while flying by at high speed.
Toxicroak - Its knuckle claws secrete a toxin so vile that even a scratch could prove fatal.
Stillwatch’s Pokemon:
Haunter - If you get the feeling of being watched in darkness when nobody is around, Haunter is there.
Misdreavus - It likes playing mischievous tricks such as screaming and wailing to startle people at night.
Umbreon - When darkness falls, the rings on the body begin to glow, striking fear in the hearts of anyone nearby.
Skarmory - Its sturdy wings look heavy, but they are actually hollow and light, allowing it to fly freely in the sky.
Ralts - A Ralts has the power to sense the emotions of people and pokémon with the horns on its head. It takes cover if it senses any hostility.
Noctowl - Its extremely soft feathers make no sound in flight. It silently sneaks up on prey without being detected.
Hot Start’s Pokemon:
Liligant - The fragrance of the garland on its head has a relaxing effect. It withers if a Trainer does not take good care of it.
Audino - It touches others with the feelers on its ears, using the sound of their heartbeats to tell how they are feeling.
Beautifly - When flower fields bloom, it flits around, collecting pollen. Despite its appearance, it is savage.
Chimecho - Its cries echo inside its hollow body to emerge as beautiful notes for startling and repelling foes.
Ninetails - It has nine long tails and fur that gleams gold. It is said to live for 1,000 years.
Munchlax - It conceals food under the long fur on its body. It carts around this food stash and swallows it without chewing.
Trickshot’s Pokemon:
Scizor (shiny) - Scizor has a body with the hardness of steel. It is not easily fazed by ordinary sorts of attacks. This pokémon flaps its wings to regulate its body temperature.
Aggron - It claims an entire mountain as its own. The more wounds it has, the more it has battled, so don’t take it lightly.
Ampharos - The tail’s tip shines brightly and can be seen from far away. It acts as a beacon for lost people.
Snivy - It is very intelligent and calm. Being exposed to lots of sunlight makes its movements swifter.
Pawniard - Ignoring their injuries, groups attack by sinking the blades that cover their bodies into their prey.
Marowak - The bone it holds is its key weapon. It throws the bone skillfully like a boomerang to KO targets.
Scanner’s Pokemon:
Linoone - It charges prey at speeds over 60 mph. However, because it can only run straight, it often fails.
Seadra - Its body bristles with sharp spikes. Carelessly trying to touch it could cause fainting from the spikes.
Krabby - If it senses danger approaching, it cloaks itself with bubbles from its mouth so it will look bigger.
Tyrogue - Even though it is small, it can't be ignored because it will slug any handy target without warning.
Bagon - Bagon has a dream of one day soaring in the sky. In doomed efforts to fly, this pokémon hurls itself off cliffs. As a result of its dives, its head has grown tough and as hard as tempered steel.
Sandslash - It curls up in a ball to protect itself from enemy attacks. It also curls up to prevent heatstroke during the daytime when temperatures rise sharply.
Made some more, because I was still bored. This time of Trajectory’s team! Well, the most important members anyway. There’s her, Blacknet, and Stillwatch. I think they all look pretty cool.
Stillwatch finds Trajectory attractive but would never tell anyone, mainly because it would be really awkward if Trajectory found out (she has ways of learning things), and also because she respects that Blacknet’s a bit obsessed with her. Even if Still thinks that Blacknet needs to step off a bit, she’s not going to risk messing up one of the only solid friendships she has.
(I’m just doing post-war Stillwatch and Blacknet for this, even though they’re just friends. I’ve kept you waiting for almost a week already, and I think they’re close enough that it still works. You can always send in another set of numbers if you decide on another pair you’d prefer.)
2. What’s their favorite thing about each other?
Stillwatch appreciates Blacknet’s loyalty. There’s not a lot he really cares all that much about, especially with Trajectory gone, but when he does decide to care? He gives it everything he’s got. Stillwatch is often reluctant to actually take sides and make a stand, so she really respects and admires Blacknet’s openness and sheer dedication to the things he values.
Blacknet appreciates just how deeply Stillwatch can care about people. Admittedly it wasn’t exactly her most useful trait as a Decepticon or a double agent, and they definitely butted heads over it in the past. But now? He’s learned to be grateful that there’s at least one person left out there who just cares. Who wants people to be okay. Who wants to help. There’s not enough of that anymore, and Blacknet knows how lucky he is to have a friend like that.
6. What would you say is their most adorable quality?
It’s a bit sad, but it’s also kind of sweet how they really come together as friends after the war is over. They were never all that enthralled with the Decepticon cause, but it at least gave them something to rally behind. It gave them a group, a cause, something to work towards. Without it, they end up with a kind of “us against the world” sort of partnership. They look out for each other even more than they did before, and support each other because they know no one else will.
7. In what ways do they express their love?
Openness is a big one. They’ve spent so long basically being professional liars, manipulating people and maneuvering for positions of power and influence. They’re so used to the posturing and bluffing and doing whatever they can to get the information they want that being honest and open and vulnerable can be incredibly difficult and uncomfortable and stressful for both of them. But they trust each other more than anyone. They know they’re safe with one another. So they spend time together, and talk, and support each other when things get to be too much. They’ve both been through a lot, and neither one tends to handle things all that well on their own, so having someone to talk to is really important for them both.
That OC musing with Blacknet is just kinda creepy...
Well. honestly, his obsession (and it is a bit of an obsession) with her IS kinda creepy. I mean, Blacknet has very little of his own self-worth and thinks that he owes his every waking moment to Trajectory because she saved him. And while his gratitude and dedication and affection toward her is very real, it’s way more than what’s reasonable, and she absolutely takes advantage of that. And then poor Blacknet thinks that, by taking advantage of that, she’s accepting his affection for her. Which he only has because he thinks way, way too highly of her in the first place. He doesn’t believe he’s being manipulated, because he serves her willingly. He doesn’t get that it was never really his choice to be that dedicated to her. She orchestrated it. That’s why Stillwatch and Blacknet were both basically at the end of the road when she took them in. Don’t think for a second that the first time they met was the first time she heard of them. Trajectory was waiting. She chose people with nothing left to loose, in the moments when they needed help the most, because she knew how vulnerable they were. How easy to manipulate they would be if she took on the role of a kind and gracious savior.
It’s not a healthy dynamic for any kind of relationship, honestly. Everyone Trajectory “helps” genuinely needs even more help just to recover from being under her influence. She’s not afraid to manipulate people, even if deep down she does genuinely care for them. it’s just in her nature to take advantage of every situation (or person) that she can. Her pretty severe lack of a moral compass means she doesn’t have an issue with it, as long as it’s not getting her in trouble. And though a lot of the consequences of her actions are unintentional and considered terribly unfortunate, they’re still there and they don’t stop her. At most she’ll feel a bit of regret about it and then write it off as “it had to be done.”
And, see, Blacknet has all of his self-worth tied up in what Trajectory thinks of him. She’s pretty much all he ever thinks about, so of course he believes he’s just deeply in love with her. He’s never had any other experience that would make him question whether or not that’s what love is supposed to be like. And even if he did, he doesn’t want to question it. He just wants Trajectory to be his, and for himself to be hers, forever. That’s all. He doesn’t really have any other goals or aspirations. Anywhere with Trajectory is where he wants to be. That’s part of why he does so poorly after the war without her, because there’s nothing left for him. There’s just nothing to keep him going if Trajectory isn’t part of his future.
So yeah. It is kinda creepy. Everything about it is kinda creepy. Occasionally it can be sweet and gentle and charming though, which is why it’s so complicated and so hard for Blacknet to see that it’s not as great as he thinks it is. Whatever Trajectory and Blacknet have between them, it’s not quite love. It’s something else, something more insidious, that does a good job of pretending to be love. But that doesn’t keep Blacknet from believing it’s the deepest, truest love in the universe, which is a huge part of his problem. He doesn’t know the difference, and Trajectory makes sure to keep it that way. She has her good moments, her vulnerable moments, and sometimes the genuine affection and care she holds in her spark for her team shines through. But that’s not the norm. Trajectory genuinely showing that she cares is the exception, not the rule. She’s overwhelmingly a selfish and self-serving person, with rare moments of selflessness. And Blacknet just doesn’t get it. She’s got him wrapped around her finger, and he thinks that’s the best place he could possibly be.
