Sketchy redesign of another transformers OC of mine, Scanner! Not as big a change for this guy as there was for the last one.

He’s a minicon with a bad temper, and a monoform by choice. Used to have some self destructive habits, but they mostly subsided over the years as he had his transformation cog and a significant amount of his kibble gradually removed. He’s as loyal a Decepticon as can be, but he’d still challenge Megatron himself to a fist fight if it meant keeping Trickshot, his rival-turned-friend-turned-conjunx, safe and sound.

Really fast doodle to try some major redesigning on one of my oldest Transformers OCs, Trickshot. He’s as much of a cocky show off as the name implies. I love this jerk.

canon transformers stuff keeps making me sad lately, and the real world is too sad already for that to be very fun at all for me, so I'm thinking I'm going to dust off my tf OCs and just write some self-indulgent happy garbage maybe the fighting only just finally stopped and the husbands are going on a vacation together. they're celebrating the end of the war even though their faction lost, because if the Autobots aren't going to cart them all off to be executed or anything then they're going to get right to work building the rest of their lives together. If peace is really happening they're going to make the most of it maybe that one really cheerful friendly guy isn't really gone. surprise surprise he may be a coward but he's got a strong spark and a will to survive, he pulled through after the supposedly fatal crash and got patched up by one of those 'I don't care who you are i'm just trying to save everyone I can' types. defected immediately once he realized nobody would be chasing him down for it if they thought he was already dead. Finally opened up that bar he wanted out in a well-defended neutral system with an organic majority, lots of people there don't trust cybertronians but he's on his best behavior and even they can see that he's really not going to be a threat. He doesn't leave when the message comes that the fighting is stopped and everyone can go back to Cybertron. Yeah he misses his trinemates and worries how they're doing all the time, he misses Cybertron too. But this is the kind of life he wanted, meeting all sorts of interesting people and not having to kill any of them, doing something he actually enjoys. he's happy now, and frankly a little terrified that the war being over is too good to be true. But suddenly cybertronians of all sorts are a little more common around here, passing through on their trips back home. he owns one of the only bars that serves them in this system so he gets a lot of business, and a couple very familiar faces just walked through the door. there's some disbelief and confusion and maybe a flash of anger or two, but it ends in a lot of smiles and a long group hug that feels more like coming home than going back to cybertron ever could listen I just want cybertronians to be happy and safe ok. and I want decepticons who maybe aren't thrilled to have lost, but are still glad to take the chance to do something else with their lives. decepticons who aren't complete monsters, or who at least don't want to be ever again

listen hot start is kind and dorky and I like him a lot but he’s so far from perfect and I feel like I don’t talk about his Big Flaws enough. so here’s one of them (also it’s 2am and his is mostly a note to self, so please forgive typos, poor grammar, an overall lack of flow, etc)

ok so basically, he’s oblivious as all hell and is a terrible Decepticon not just because he’s too kindhearted to be an effective soldier but also because the revolution was never really his fight. he’s so used to a position of privilege that he sometimes forgets just how much of a struggle life could be for a lot of his allies. he forgets that they could do the exact same things as he would and still be treated a lot worse. sometimes he’ll think and act as though everyone had always been treated equally by society as a whole, since that’s how he personally always treated wveryone, which totally ignores the whole reason for the decepticons to exist in the first place.

he’s been conditioned all his life to turn a blind eye and ignore how bad things were. it’s so much easier for him sometimes to pretend things aren’t as bad as they really are. letting himself slip back into that comfortable oblivious bubble where nothing can really be that bad as long as he’s having a good time is a bad habit he still falls into way too often, especially when he doesn’t want to take action and make a hard decision or face an unpleasant truth

he does try to be better, and his ignorance really doesn’t come from a place of malice. but good intentions don’t prevent him from making an ass of himself and being a bit if a burden to the people actually fighting for something. even everybody’s cheery yellow friend shouldn’t get off the hook so easily for that

Crosstalk (i renamed Speedtalk, haven’t changed the tag yet though) is exactly kind of person who isn’t able to help spending all his money on those blind box collectible vinyl figures.

And then he’d set them aside and completely forget about them the moment the excitement from unboxing them all wore off, remembering his error only when he realizes he has no more money to get anything else.
