So here she is, this is Lotus as a finished drawing. Lotus is around Vegeta’s age rather than Goku’s. As you can clearly see from the tail, she is a saiyan. When she was still developing, her parents betrayed King Vegeta and she as soon as development ended was sent as a newborn to Namek so they could ‘forget’ about her. Her power level at that time wasn’t that impressive to King Vegeta so why bother keeping her around, right? This is also why she wears the clothes she’s wearing, as she was raised by the Namekians, specifically an elder Namekian named Itar who is from the warrior clans. (Obviously, as a saiyan it makes sense she be raised by mainly warriors).
Lotus, as a result, has no memories of Vegeta or her race. She is still more aggressive compared to her caretakers and her ‘dad’. She is taught their fighting styles and as a result, as she’d obviously be wanting to spar a lot, some of the Namekian’s warriors are a bit stronger than in the original story (like a 300-500 ish difference, not too significant but still). She is also quite spiritual for a Saiyan, part of why I named her Lotus as while yes you can eat Lotus (following theme of food names), Lotus also holds some root in Buddhism, symbolic of spiritual awakening/ growth and purity. So, I figured if I’m going to write about a saiyan who is more spiritually inclined than the others YES Lotus sounded fitting.
Lotus does lose Itar to his age but before he died he had an egg. He was already near the point and it only weakened him more, but he left behind two instructions; a name and that he wanted Lotus to be his main caretaker like he was for her. The main reason is while he’s been alive for a long time, this is the only egg he’s ever had—he has no children. While he does have relatives, Lotus was really his adopted child, so it makes sense for an older sibling to take care of their baby sibling. Of course, the rest of the clan within their village will be there to help. He named the future baby ‘Sitar’ which the elder of their village chuckled at, as it’s literally one letter away from his name. By the time Frieza arrived, he’d be on the verge of teen hood and he is a little aggressive for a Namekian, but that happens when your older sister who raised you is a Saiyan. (I’ll draw him another time.)
During the attack she sensed the danger and when she sensed the others were dying, she felt it necessary to take all the younglings somewhere safe. As a result, at some point they have an entire arc with Bulma.
She will reach super saiyan, she’s just not gonna be on Goku and Vegeta’s level (because that’s way too much for this kind of OC)
For her super saiyan isn’t a goal, it’s an occurrence that eventually happens. It’s more a sign of her spirituality rising than a goal of strength to reach. Does she end up with anyone? No, not in the way that she would continue her bloodline, but she is in no way denying she has a crush on Whis. She doesn’t pursue it in that way since he’s an angel and while she may like him, she also knows she’s just another mortal likely to him.
She and Sitar stay on earth, deciding she wanted learn more about Earth due to her friendship with Bulma and also there’s other saiyans here. Sitar simply didn’t want to be separated from her and since there’s other warriors here, it’s not like there’s a lack of people to learn from or spar with.
Android Saga: the team didn’t REALLY pay too much attention to her, honestly she only talks to Bulma and Piccolo so it doesn’t occur to them to ask her to also join them?? Piccolo is the one to ask why she hadn’t joined them after Cell absorbed 17. They completely forgot and Bulma of course is the one who calls her ahead along with Sitar. Piccolo at that moment decided to never trust them again to invite everyone.
Cell saga: She doesn’t achieve super saiyan at this time. She does annoy, however, the Cell Juniors as while she isn’t as strong as them, she’s the only one who can both perceive their moves and actively annoy them, causing them to make mistakes. The only reason she gets hit is because she was protecting Sitar. Mind you, this is before they get done in by Gohan. She is healed by our favorite bean, but if she hadn’t, she would’ve suffered a LOT.
It’s actually during Majin Buu saga that she achieves the form while going off world to visit the very planet Goku was on. Her and Sitar decided to train there and had NO IDEA what was going on back on earth. Yeah she achieved it while just… meditating. Literally, that’s it. No big battle, no major sparring, instead she just achieved while training and clearing her mind. Now she herself doesn’t understand how that works, as far as she knew it was merely a level power you break, so she’s very confused. She does however take it in stride though.
She returns and gets to hear all the fun she missed. She decided to just let them go on and on about it instead of bringing up her super saiyan form. After all, this sounded more impressive to her anyway.
She’d stay on planet around Bulma’s birthday but before Beerus arrives, she falls asleep so yeah… when she wakes up, it’s because she senses the dragon was summoned. Why did she crash out?
This was the first time she ever had alcohol… so she woke up with a hangover expected to help with the god transformation for Goku. Afterwards she asked if Bulma had any painkillers as the fight went on. Bad time? Yeah. Did she care? Well, if the planet doesn’t die then she’d still have a raging headache. And none of them need to see her with a headache. Sitar agrees. While she appears distant to them, it’s entirely because she’s dealing with a headache. She meditates as Goku and Beerus fight, letting herself focus on the battle better and focusing on that solely. Sitar does this with her and while it confuses everyone else, she doesn’t care as she can feel the difference… yeah he’s not gonna win. She knew before anyone else that it would never be enough. Of course, the exception being Whis and Beerus himself.
Ultimately when Whis takes Vegeta and Goku, she isn’t invited to join because once again—not on their level in strength. Now she is familiar with Whis more because he often comes to earth to get earth cuisine while they’re training.
Mind you this is as far as I have planned. I won’t add to this post as I’ll writing the actual fanfic from this point—eventually draw Sitar as well.
