Does anyone have any advice for trying to figure out a sense of clothing style for OCs?

I have a tendency to settle on one specific outfit for them and then always picture them wearing that, like a cartoon character, but — unless they're a very specific type of person who buys lots of copies of the same outfit to wear constantly — that's not exactly realistic!

I just don't know how to get from that one image I have of them, to an idea of what other clothes they might go for as well...

Fun thing I noticed, all the personal torture hells Caine created were based on things they'd actually shared in or things that happened in the Circus. Implying that, while he has access to their mind files, he can't actually read their minds. Which is why Pomni just had Gummigoo attacking her, because Caine didn't actually know how to hurt her any worse since she never really talks about her own insecurities or much of her life beyond the circus.

Others have pointed out that the torture hells were also correlating to what they each actually said to him when they were ragebaiting. Jax complaining about Caine's lies and then having his mask (his own lies) forcible ripped away, Ragatha complaining about not being able to feel at home and Caine making her relive her abusive home, Zooble digging into the insecurities he knows Caine has and Caine responding in kind, Pomni complaining that his ideas suck and him using an idea of his that she enjoyed against her, Gangle complaining about being discouraged from doing things their own ways and being reminded about what happened at Spudsies which was all entirely her own choices.

Yep! This exact reasoning is why I decided on Angie's personal hell being about her miscarriage as it's something she would bring up during a scene similar to Kinger and Ragatha's conversation in Episode 6. She'd confided in Caine himself about her miscarriage as he'd asked her why she's so polite to him even when she clearly hates an adventure. It was because her then husband at the time had always berated her to the point that her low emotional condition induced the miscarriage. The trauma of that happening pushes Angie to put the feelings of those she sees as "above her" first rather than her own emotions and needs.

While she doesn't say anything negative to Caine, due to the aforementioned trauma, he still targets her like he did the others because she didn't say anything to stop the others from berating him when she knew he was only trying to fulfill his purpose.

weird how disliked oc content is..i see a lot of praise for fanart and games but putting in the effort and creativity to make your own universe and set of characters is cringier and ignored..

Bifrons might be ace? Not sure. He might just have a case of oblivious combined with obsessed workaholic. I'll have to contemplate what feels right for his character.

Yeah demisexuality is on the asexuality spectrum. :) needing to have a very deep connection with someone before having any attraction or sexual desire for them falls into spectrum.

Then you also have greysexual and ace, and so many more that also fall into the spectrum.

My own demisexual Hellaverse character is Marc. He's also very oblivious since he doesn't get when someone flirts and never flirts back lol. He's still very romantic and is yet waiting for a special someone in his life.

(however life's been a bitch to him so he's also very abrasive)

Ngl, the recent TADC situation has reminded me of something quite separate but still vaguely linked anyway.

Why is it that when I see nationality hcs for characters where a multinational cast would make sense, it's always the same 15-ish countries? It always seems to be US, France, Germany, and maybe Brazilian, Japanese or Chinese to add a little bit of spice, but like, is that really all you can come up with?

There are around 200 countries in the world. You're just restricting yourself heavily by constantly falling back on the same ones. Like, where are my blorbos from Georgia? From Botswana? From Paraguay? African, central Asian and Pacific/ Oceanian countries are the ones I think I see the least too. There have gotta be characters out there to be HC as Tajik, Gambian, Palauan, Kazakh or Nigerian, come on.

Obviously it's not morally reprehensible to HC a character with a so-called "classic nationality" (it would be hypocritical for me to say otherwise), just I wish people branched out more.

And I'm talking about fandom hcs mostly but this applies to OCs as well. Sometimes you just gotta look at a map, look at the most random country and be like "Yea, they're Def from Tunisia, without a doubt". It's also more fun in my experience :]
