I have an OC to share with you guys...
This is Gorner! She's my main Night at the Museum OC.
Disclaimer: I am not very knowledgeable on ancient Greek mythology. I did very little research going into this, and a lot of it I came up with on the fly. If you're hoping for an accurate, well thought out storyline based on actual mythology, you've come to the wrong place. Gorner's story is completely made up and based on my own (very non-logical and all over the place) imagination. Basically, I took many, MANY artistic liberties here <3
Gorner is part of a new miniature diorama, consisting of her and about 12 other men on a ship. She's from an old Greek myth (again, not a real one) and the captain and leader of her diorama... even if her crew doesn't act like it.
I typically use she/her pronouns for Gorner, both for simplicity and easier understanding, but she is intersex and goes by both male and female terms and pronouns interchangeably.
She's a polyamorous sapphic and has two partners who are both sirens (in true Greek mythology, sirens are often depicted as half-bird people. I went the mermaid route). Kelkie and Sylvia (Gorner's girlfriends) aren't included in her diorama and don't have any depictions elsewhere in the museum, but Gorner is very loyal to her partners.
Gorner has poor, blury vision that makes it hard to see details. One of her eyes is entirely gone, replaced by a prosthetic that she obviously can't see out of. The other still has decently good vision, but the area around it is scarred, and the eye itself was damaged by a splinter of wood (I'll get into it in her lore), giving it an impairment.
She gets along best with Jedediah and Octavius, despite having a rough first introduction, and often rides around with them in the back of their RC car. They cause mischief together.
She's easy to get along with, for the most part, and there are very few people she has any actual conflict with. In fact, she tries to avoid conflict as often as possible. Besides other miniatures, she gets along best with Sacagawea and Ahkmenrah.
Being called small is no issue to Gorner. Sure, it stings a little, but it's the truth. Picking her up unexpectedly, however, is a good way to end up with more bleeding fingers than you had beforehand. She carries around a sword and multiple concealed daggers, and she will use them if threatened.
I'll make a separate post for Goner's lore another time. Hopefully soon. But for now, I'm out of steam. I wrote most of this all in one go, so please excuse if it's a little all over the place.
Anyway, I really like Gorner, I think she's neat. I haven't done much with her yet, but I have been role-playing a bit with the lovely @tinybitofgay (figured you might want to be tagged and see this, but let me know if you'd rather I untagged you for any reason) and you can expect some more content for her as soon as I get around to it. I have... much stuff going on right now, and I'm starting school again next week :p
