★New (MHA) OC: Murasaki Kurotsui★
Hello world and all who inhabit it! (。•̀ᴗ-)✧ How is everyone today? How are classes, work, and home going? Is everything alright? I hope so, because today I've brought you a new OC! (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*.✧
And that is… Murasaki Kurotsui! ✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧ My new OC from MHA, or My Hero Academia. (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.).
Okay, I'm not going to lie, even though I think I mentioned it before in a post, but it's been AGES since I've actually watched My Hero Academia. XD The last time I watched it was when the third season of the anime premiered, yeah, years ago. So… I don't really know anything beyond the first two seasons and maybe a little bit of the third. However! Recently, I've been reading some fanfics that sparked my inspiration. So, to satisfy my craving like I did with Unicorn Wars, I made a new OC for that fandom. Besides killing three birds with one stone, I also took the opportunity to satisfy my desire and need to draw other things! For example, I've wanted to draw a gothic character for a very long time. And also, obviously, to practice drawing humans (because I've drawn tons of trolls, no kidding), so drawing this character was perfect for all three things.
…Even though she still has her little quirks. Anatomically she's great, but her face never quite convinced me. :V I guess it's because of the eyes. Seriously, I struggle A LOT drawing human eyes, so it's very possible that if I ever draw this new girl again, I'll probably draw her with a different eye style to see how it looks. Although I liked the rest of her quite a bit.
Anyway! You're probably very curious about her lore, and if not… well, you can leave right now. But if you still want to know about her, you can keep reading and find out all the details I've thought of for her! Even the stupid ones. XD And you'll see she has a couple.
So without further ado, let's get to the lore!
Presentation (Vigilante Costume):
★Hero Name: Marionette
★Civilian Name: Murasaki Kurotsui (written in Japanese, so her last name is "Murasaki" and her first name is "Kurotsui")
★Age: 16
★Quirk: Doll Control
★Quirk Description: Kurotsui can control any doll within her field of vision, regardless of its size or material. The number of dolls she can control and her accuracy depend on her own practice and the doll's resemblance to a human. The more human-like the doll, the easier it is to control.
★Extra Quirk Notes:
*Once the Quirk is activated on a doll, Marionette can reactivate her control without needing to see it, although the effect disappears after a period of inactivity.
*Dolls become easier to control if they have been previously manipulated or modified by Marionette, or if she created them herself.
*The control range is quite large, although the further away they are, the more difficult they become to control. If the doll is in a different city than Marionette, it definitely cannot be controlled.
*Marionette can control dolls with complete freedom, even being able to force them to perform movements that normal humans usually cannot, as long as it is within the doll's own limitations. For example, a plastic doll might not be as flexible as a rag doll; however, both will move with great fluidity if Marionette so desires.
*Finally, the Quirk works with any doll that has a humanoid form and is not alive. That is to say, Marionette's control can encompass not only traditional dolls, but also mannequins, statues, paper figures, and even corpses.
★Costume Notes: As a vigilante, Marionette doesn't have an official, let alone legal, hero costume, though she doesn't need one anyway. Thanks to her Quirk, Marionette can avoid direct confrontations and remain hidden from view, so she usually goes out on patrol in whatever pretty outfit she has in her closet that helps her blend in under the cover of night and throw off anyone looking for her. The only thing about her costume that truly remains constant is her mask, which is the only thing that truly keeps her identity hidden.
And well, those are all the details of her vigilante costume. XD So let's move on to the rest!
★UA Uniform/Casual:
★Murasaki Kusotsui is a 1st-2nd year General Studies student at UA.
★She's well-known in her class for her unique and dark style, often referred to as "the goth girl in general studies."
★Kurotsui uses the UA uniform with considerable creativity, adding her own personal touch. She almost got into trouble for the modifications she made to her uniform, only to be saved by some loopholes in the school's dress code rules.
★The changes to her uniform consist of a longer skirt that reaches her knees, hand-sewn pockets on her jacket, a purple tie, and a few accessories.
★Kurotsui loves creating her own clothes and accessories, adding her own personal touch to everything she buys and wears, no matter how small.
★Among her accessories is a simple chatelaine with scissors, a simple and practical decoration that allows Kusotsui to carry all sorts of useful tools as if they were decorations. She makes her own chatelaines and has several that she uses on different occasions, even with her "vigilante outfits." She's very careful not to use the same chatelaines she wears at school as she does for her vigilante duties to avoid any association.
★She also wears a cameo on her tie as an accessory. It's handmade.
★Her earrings are also homemade, made from recycled clothing buttons.
★The eyepatch over her right eye is also handmade. She has others, but this one is her favorite. Kurotsui really likes purple.
★She loves doing her hair. It's not uncommon to see her with different hairstyles throughout the week.
★Kurotsui always wears knee-high socks with her school uniform.
★She really likes makeup.
★She never leaves home without at least three black or dark items in her outfit.
★The same principles apply to her casual wear as to her school uniform.
★She likes to dress in a relaxed and simple style, although she also enjoys more elegant things.
★She loves long skirts.
★Again, Kurotsui usually makes her own clothes. What she loves most is knitting, so it's not unusual to see her wearing cardigans, sweaters, or other knitted clothing. She also makes plushies and dolls quite often, thanks to her Quirk.
And well, since there isn't much more to say about casual wear, let's get straight to her base. XD
Kurotsui's Base:
★Kurotsui is a slender girl with an elegant build. At first glance, she seems more fragile than she actually is.
★Her hair is really long. She likes having it that way so she can create pretty hairstyles, like she's a doll.
★As a self-respecting goth girl, Kurotsui has very pale and smooth skin. She would almost look like a porcelain doll if it weren't for her scars.
★Kurotsui's scars were caused by a car accident many years ago. She and her father were returning home from a peaceful drive when the car's brakes failed, and they couldn't stop in time to avoid colliding with another car in the oncoming lane. Kurotsui was in the passenger seat, not wearing a seatbelt, which caused her to be thrown against the windshield during the crash. Miraculously, she survived, but the shattered glass left her with numerous injuries, and the largest shards ended up in her right eye socket, damaging it and causing her to lose it completely.
However, Kurotsui is a resilient girl, so she overcame that ordeal with ease and is now at peace with her trauma. She isn't insecure about her scars or her body and takes the loss of her right eye very calmly. In fact, she loves it when people ask her about it to tease others. She finds it hilarious to see the expressions on other people's faces when they see the stitched mess that is now her eye socket.
And that's all, folks! (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*.✧
So, did you like Kurotsui? I hope so! I really enjoyed drawing this girl, although, as I said, I know I could have done better. I'm still planning to change her eyes (and mind you, her one eye would stay the same. I just want to change their shape), and maybe the shape of her head, which I'm not entirely happy with. But otherwise, she's great! (。•̀ᴗ-)✧. I've always wanted to draw a gothic girl, although drawing so much dark clothing was complicated because I can't use absolute black for coloring, unfortunately. :V So I added more colors!
Anyway, that's all. Oh, but wait, I almost forgot about her name! "Marionette" is pretty obvious, but I just made up "Murasaki Kurotsui." I know the creator of My Hero Academia really likes using puns in their characters' names, and other people's OCs follow the same pattern, so I wanted to do the same. Naturally, it's not very elegant, but rather something funny I discovered while experimenting with Google Translate. (≧▽≦). At first, I wanted to use something with the word "doll," but in the end, I decided to use Kurotsui's main colors to create her name.
So, if you put Murasaki Kurotsui into a Japanese translator, it's quite likely that the translation will be "Purple VS Black." XD Since that's the literal translation. I discovered that adding "tsui" to "kuro" (black) somehow translated it as "black against." And then I discovered that purple was "Murasaki." So I combined the two to see what would happen, and that's what came out. "Purple VS Black." I thought it was funny and sounded good, so I kept it as her name.
But if you have any objections or are experts in Japanese, feel free to correct me in the comments or suggest more elegant names. It was actually a last-minute thing, so I wouldn't mind if you have a better idea for my girl's name. (・∀・)
Anyway. That's all for now. I don't know what I'll draw next, so I'll probably do a poll sometime soon once I organize some of my ideas. Until then, I'll be reading your comments. ꒰⑅ᵕ༚ᵕ꒱˖♡
Thanks for reading!
