Ithilrin Starfall, Elemmirian, Wren and Willow (art by sirmeo)

Moon polycule due to Rin's association with the Moon.

This is the 'Rin has two hands' polycule. She and Elemmirian have known each other for eight thousand years and have been faintly tied that whole time. Wren is heavily associated with wolves and was a protector of Rin and the two grew close. This is a relationship with a set end point because Rin will eventually sail, and they both know it.

Willow(elvish name Tatharaen) was also a protector of Rin, but their relationship is less romantic and more of a mutually shared flirtation and understanding that not all things are meant to last forever. (Willow is also tied to Eilianeth but that's another completely different bond and also more associated with a different setting)

Wren and Willow are hardly the first mortals she's been involved with, though Wren is probably the one she got closest to.

Miri barely tolerates Rin's mortals tbh, but she does begrudgingly respect them.

In our original setting Willow isn't a part of this polycule at all. Additionally Rin and Miri have a very long time (thousands of years) apart before meeting again in both.

Caranwaen Starfall, Minuial Dawnsinger, Ryscewen and Manadh(all art by sirmeo)

This is the Sun polycule, due to Minuial's alignment with the Sun.

This is more two couples that got tangled up with each other. Caran and Min are married, and Ry and Manadh are married. Manadh and Caran used to have a thing and never really got over each other, Ry had a thing for Min as well. But the lines all connect everyone at this point.

This is more prevalent in our original setting than the LOTR setting because that's mostly where the polycule kind of developed over time first. It's a less strong bond in middle-earth between the four but it's been developing.

Idhaelin, Gladharil and Zaira (art by Sirmeo)

The Sea polycule, due to both Zaira and Gladharil's affiliation with the sea.

Another two hands situation, with Gladharil in the middle. Aelin and Zaira are friendly with each other but not romantic.

This was another that developed in my wife and mine's original setting first, where Gladharil and Zaira became a thing until Gladharil met Aelin and immediately clicked with her.

Avarian Starfall, Laerion Thelanor, Eilianeth, and Laeriel Thelanor (art by sirmeo)

The Night polycule, due to Ava's association with the night.

Eilia has followed Ava like a trusted shadow for thousands of years and they accidentally got married once and soul bonded over it(elves who marry become soulbound to each other).

Ava and Laerion are that kind of destined bond thing and they also got soul bonded, and then Eilia bonded with Laerion's twin sister Laeriel, who's also sweet (if always exasperated by) on Ava, and since twins kind of share a soul anyway those two became soul bound.

Eilianeth also shares a bond with someone named Willow, but that's in the original setting, where Willow is a dryad and destined with a pre-determined fate. Willow ended up in a different polycule in middle-earth.

In our original setting Eilia was the later addition to the polycule, in LOTR she was kind of already a part of it.
