Yvette /jvɛttɛ/ The Main Priestess of Oscuria
In Guarded I have created a realm called Oscuria where one of the main religions is all about Fate and understanding one's mind, Aura and emotions. Fate cannot be changed it has already been written in stars. The oldest and the main priestess is Yvette.
It's time to finally, officially introduce her.
Yvette is an elder women, whose age is around 300 years if not more. Has long silver gray hair, milky white eyes as a result of her powers and living on Oscuria and requires a cane to walk. She was born on Oscuria and is one of the few surviving witches of Aura manipulation and a Seer but not a powerful one. She can see the future but her visions are often abstract and filled with symbolism which took her decades of travel to every corner of Magix to gain knowledge in order to correctly decipher them. She had been a main priestess for almost a century. Before her Wodia was the priestess that had passed away of natural causes.
She is a teacher and a mentor for aspiring priests and priestesses and often takes under her wing witches whose magic is also connected to Aura and mind. The fate of them is cruel if they are not taught young. She had seen many fall and die and decided to stop the wheel of fatum...if fate allows her that is.
She is also greatly tied to the Dark Forest on Oscuria. The threshold of the Shadow Realm. She knows its residents like the back of her hand and they respect her greatly. She is always in contact with them if anything where to occur in the forest. The oldest monster...one of the oldest named Adramassulech whose named himself caretaker of the beasts when "eyes, ears and heart of our realm are beyond our reach". He, if we can suggest that, informed her of the greatest disturbance that happened in the forest. He no longer can speak and mainly communicates via sign language. The price one pays of becoming the creature of darkness if...
one was born as human. a wizard. a warlock. a witch. anything that lived outside and chose to enter it.
She is the main healer of Oscuria. Her knowledge of remedies that can be used in this barren land saved many lives. She is Oscuria, a spirit of this moon. Because of it she truly despises everything that could disturb it.
Creatures who play with blood magic.
Who play with their humanity.
Who believe there is some all powerful dragon being who can save them all.
Fate is true. They can only hope for the kind path and wisdom that would allow them to overcome every obstacle. Praying to some all mighty or naming themselves gods among them is absurd. Oscuria took no part in the war and named itself a neutral ground. It did make things complicated as the fights grew more aggressive but then...why destroy a moon that has nothing to offer but a weird religion and a forest that Liliss didn't need to call upon her creatures of darkness and used them in war.
Yvette remembers finding Trico and many others badly hurt and did her best to provide some aid. Time was the greatest healer...until Darkar returned.
Her work never stops. That is her fate. She shall never ignore it.
