There’s a rustling in the orchard, twigs snapping and plants folding under a heavy boot. The figure grumbles, shedding the top half of their astronaut suit and wiping the sweat from their brow.
“Bloody ‘ell-“ they groan. Head turned to the side- not noticing as they then run directly into a cherry tree.

Hands tremble and cherry pits fall, she goes to immediately steady her ladder and hold her basket of cherries. She sighs with relief once it steadies, before curiously looking down
“ Scuse me, darling! “

Gonna crack open a quick Cassidy backstory/lore post for you guys to get some context!

When Cassidy Lock was born — she was apart of a very large family. 2 sisters, and 4 brothers. She’s basically the middle child as she is the fifth child — unfortunately it was rough times, and her parents had a very old fashioned way of parenting, and had vendetta against the girls specifically.
They wanted all boys — they could handle the heavy work and get married, continue the lock family name. Girls were..weaker, more emotional, they got married off. They didn’t want that and yet that’s exactly what her parents did.
Cassidy didn’t want to be like that — she wanted to help out with farm work and whatever else her brothers were doing instead of simple housework the girls of the family were doing. She was verbally abused for this a lot — sometimes even hit. She got told she was no good, useless and a good for nothing.
So she up and dipped at 16 years old, leaving her home in Texas and moving to Arizona and starting all her work there — made many friends such as Bob, Garcia, Ignacio, Mort and more, and got married to a good man that, actually took her name which was surprising but she didn’t mind. They ended up starting a farm
Though maybe somewhere in her late 30s to early 40s, they got divorced and she kept the farm, ended up turning it into an orchard that we know now!
She had two girls and two boys with her husband before they divorced — by the time they did they were all adults. Bonnie (first girl), Grant (first boy), Grace (second girl), and Lawrence (second boy).
Cassidy and her husband were great parents — never any old fashioned rules like hitting or what not. They were a happy family and most of them grew up happily. Bonnie works on a cow farm near the orchard, while Grace and Lawrence went to college out of state.
Grant ended up being a terrible person though.
Upon moving out, he went to college and ended up getting his highest degree in surgery. He ends up working at the hospital Mort and Patty work, but is eventually arrested faster Patty catches him defiling bodies on tape.
He is currently on the towns sex offender list, while in prison.
Cassidy’s heart was absolutely broken for her son when she saw the news, but is even more broken for the families who were victims to his actions. She has sent out personal apologies, before cutting off ALL contact with Grant. He’s been disowned by the Lock family.
Cassidy still blames herself for her son’s actions, she feels like she failed. She is absolutely wracked by guilt despite doing all she could.
To this day, she feels immense guilt and shame to herself caused by Grants actions, and her parents actions. She tries to be useful in every aspect as a result.
Someone suddenly arrived next to Cassidy's place after minutes, clapping a few times as they call for the owner of the house.
