I’ll be using my OC Systlin, the protagonist of the original story i’ve been working on for the last 1,000 years (it feels like) and my Tumblr namesake.
Answering three questions, then asking three of my own. I will then tag several poor souls to participate. They shall answer the questions I’ve asked, and then ask three of their own. (You can tag me back!!)
1. What is the ultimate goal of your OC’s narrative? As in: what are they attempting to accomplish.
Ultimately, she has to fight an angry god bent on destroying her entire civilization. She can only do this at the risk of 1. Get Killed In Face By Angry God But Injure Him Enough To Force Him To Retreat For a Millennium Or So, or 2. Risk Going Dangerously Insane And Becoming His Successor. Because I like tormenting my OCs.
2.What is one responsibility in your OC’s life they wish they could relinquish but can’t?
Systlin is heir to the throne of the northern realms, and really wishes she wasn’t. She’d really be much happier as a regular soldier or mercenary. She generally hates the nobility of the northern realms, with all of their backstabbing, manipulating, political maneuvering, ect. and hates having to deal with them.
3. Where does your OC fall on the morality scale? Altruist? Opportunist? Moral compass so broken they can’t even find their way out of bed?
Somewhere in the gray middle. She means well, but she can be cold-blooded and ruthless to the point of brutality if it furthers her goals.
And she really likes fighting. Like, probably a little too much. In her culture skill in battle is a valued trait, but even some of the other characters notice that she likes battle a little too much.
And then there’s that one time that she brutally stab-murdered a man in the face. (To be fair he killed her father.)
And the one time she had her assassins nail a duke’s head to his throne. (To be fair he bragged about his role in killing her father, and said that he’d never recognize her rule)
Oh right and she cut that one dude’s throat in cold blood that one time.

2. What would your OC’s ideal life be if they weren’t tied up with whatever story they happen to be in?
3. Does your OC have any ‘berserk button’ that you should just Not Bring Up Ever?
