After getting back together Jeddite quickly found out that he is third wheeling some more meaningful relationship rn.

Little art fight break to celebrate getting my laptop back in a better state than it was.

I'm starting to care about Roma's and Andreé's queerplatonic friendship more than about whatever fucked up situationship her and Jeddite are in.

Toxic Roddite Au

Or "take their stubbornness and turn it up to 11 AU"

Their outfits are basically the same. The biggest difference are the scars that they gave to each other.

During their confrontation on AvLee border, they found each other on the battlefield. It was Romania who was more spiteful and angry. She cut Jeddite first, blinding him on one eye. Before she could process what she just did, how close she came to taking his life, Jeddite panicked and fireballed her. The spell hit the side of her head, burning badly and making her deaf on the left ear.

In this moment, both panicked, as if just realising what they are doing, who they are fighting. Both called their armies back to retreat. The battle wasn't leading anywhere anyway.

This significantly slowed Nighon's invasion on the AvLee, and made them focus more on Erathia.

This also caused both Jeddite and Romania to not only be angry, but be afraid of one another. Of the power the other held, the strength, and how far they could go to fight for their believes.

Updated my Roddite sketches with Roma's new look

I don't think I've heard about Lasilia, Melieth or Taeriss before, here's some for them! 🌟🔒👑

And I am a HoMM OC enjoyer too so for Roma, Jeddite and Andreé- 🦉🪨🧸

I mentioned them briefly, but those three are a belfs siblings. Lasilia is the oldest, Melieth is middle and Taeriss the youngest. They separated after the March of the Scourge on Quel'thalas. Lasilia went with Liadrin to became a paladin and a Blood Knight, Melieth used to be a Farstrider, but died from the Scourge, got raised by Arthas, then regained his free will with Sylvanas and stayed with her, and Taeriss went to search for vengeance and joined the Illidari. Now she is getting her greedy little hands into the Void.

🌟 What’s something small they did as a child that hinted at who they’d become?

I'd say their lifes are kinda defined by their sibling dynamic.

Lasilia was always the Oldest Sibling archetype. Take care of the younger ones, represent family, be the third parent, keep everyone together, make parents proud.

Something small that would hint on her becoming the Blood Knight, a paladin that demands the Light to listen (even tho later they changed I know). I'd say her snapping on Melieth and Taeriss sometimes. It wouldn't happen often, but she would lose her patience, yell at them to calm down and listen to her. She is in charge. Parents don't care. Stop being so ungrateful. I chose to take care of you, I don't have to, you are not my kids.

Melieth, as the middle kid, often felt overlooked. Like he is not getting enough attention. His older sister is the face of the family, his younger is the golden could-do-no-wrong child, and he is just... Melieth.

He wanted to be an artist, but his parents didn't agree. So he became a Farstrider, just to be different than his sisters, who one was a priest already, and the other planned to become one as well. There he finally felt a sense of belonging, he followed Sylvanas till the end, and even longer when he became a Dark Ranger. Then he followed Sylvanas even further, to Shadowlands, he betrayed his friends and companions, and calmed down when Sylvanas herself told her to chill, leave her alone and n-no Melieth you are not going with me to the Maw. Sit. Bad Melieth.

What would hint at this blind devotion during his childhood? I'd say his need for sense of belonging that showed in his poetry. He wrote about escaping, finding himself, leaving the nest and finding some better, more fitting nest.

Taeriss was spoiled, as the youngest children tend to be. She was the golden child, the perfect sunshine. She grew with a sense of entitlement that she can get whatever she wants, which by itself hints at who she became - demon hunter who believes can harness the fel, then the Void, and then whatever else is there.

A small thing that hinted at that would be her attempt to tame a hawkstrider. She wanted it to just listen. She tried to force it to listen and couldn't understand why it wouldn't "bond" with her the way other hawkstriders bonded with their raiders. Or why it wasn't as obedient as the pups she got as a child. And so of course she was delighted when she found out in order for a felbat or felsaber to listen you can just beat the shit out of it.

🔒 What’s a secret they’ll take to their grave?

Lasilia - that she sometimes despises her family. She hates that her parents made her the third parent and took all her achievement for granted, she hates that despite everything she did for them Melieth and Taeriss turned to the "dark" side. She snapped at them sometimes, even yelled how tired she is, how unappreciated she feels, but never said that she hates them, or sometimes wishes she was an only child.

Melieth - that he kept writing poetry even after death. It made him fill the emptiness in his dead heart. Even after he finally accepted that Sylvanas was gone, when he was rotting in his depression, he kept writing and burning his poems.

Taeriss - that she almost joined the Legion. During campaing on the Azsuna she was captured and persuaded by the demons to join them, and she almost broke, gave in to the power, before Kor'vas and Hiaro found and freed her. She claimed she wasn't wasn't close to switching sides, while in fact she was one moment before doing that.

👑 In their own story, are they the hero / villain / someone else entirely?

Lasilia - hero, more of a side kick for Liadrin, but definitely hero of Silvermoon, of her family, of Azeroth. On the edge of snapping, but a hero nonetheless.

Melieth - it's hard to say how to classify him. I'd say something like "failed hero"? That his his goals were at first noble - to serve Silvermoon, to protect. But after his death it started spiraling, until it all became just "whatever Sylvanas says is best". That's the only moral code he had from let's say Legion to Shadowlands. After SL his whore worldview collapsed and then he woke up around Undermine, when he found out his old friend, Halieth (goblin gal that is more of a concept rn) needed help, so he went all "okay, this world saving buisness is getting personal now" and returned to participating in the world's business. Now in Midnight he's slowly climbing back to the "hero" or "anti hero" status.

Taeriss - at first she was more of an anti hero. Like Melieth, she was trying to achieve something more or less noble, tho in her perspective, searching for power to get vengeance was noble. But then she started wanting more and more power, claiming it's still to "protect", to "understand" the Void. But in reality she is just power hungry. Probably it will end with her loosing her mind and going villain.

🦉 What piece of advice do they give everyone but never follow themselves?

Romania: Don't do things for people's approval, do them for yourself. She often does stuff for herself, but she is also very self aware over how she is being perceived by her soldiers, by the Council or by other Lords of AvLee. She wants to be seen as equal, as an elf, not as a human.

Jeddite: Don't make up decisions under emotions. When he was young, in relationship with Roma, he would give her that advice, and now as Alamar's advisor he ofter gives his lord that advice, but Jeddite himself can be quite explosive.

Also "Don't mix alcohols". This "powerful and serious warlock" gets way to drunk and then dies from hungover.

Andreé: Don't overwork your body, rest is important. They are first to scold their friends for overworking (mostly Romania, that woman's answer to exhaustion is more exercise), but they often forget about sleep or rest themselves.

🪨 What’s the hardest choice they’ve ever made?

Romania - to give her support to Nighon, when Jeddite asked for it. It was when Necromancer's lead by Sandro attacked Nighon, way after Roma and Jeddite saw each other for the last time. This was both a political and personal decision, that she needed Andreé's advice and support. Not only AvLee's and Nighon's relationship was rough, but Roma's and Jeddite's personal as well. But necromancers were a common enemy so she finally agreed to help.

Jeddite - probably first to try to kill Sandro, and later to give up his pursuit after him. Sandro was Jeddite's best friend, and when Jed found out about Sandro becoming a necromancer, he didn't know what would be worse - to find Sandro and confirm all the reports he got, or to never be certain but keep the hope that it was some mistake, and Sandro was just dead. In the end Jeddite went after and found Sandro. Then he had a mixture of emotions - anger, sadness, betrayal. He felt personally responsible for Sandro falling to darkness. In the end Sandro's magic was stronger and Jeddite had to run to survive. He wanted to try again, but got a message from Alamar to return to Nighon. He still wanted to ignore it and continue tryig to take down Sandro, but finally decided against it. He knew that in the end there was no way he would be able to kill Sandro.

Andreé - To leave their home. Andreé didn't feel well between the other angels. Their family was known for their healing abilities, but magic is strongly connected to emotions here. You can learn to control it, like you control your emotions, but if you don't feel it you can't force yourself to feel it. And Andreé just didn't feel it. Why am I doing it? Why are we healers? What's the point of saving someone if they may die the next day anyway?

They knew it was not the right way of thinking, yet they couldn't stop it. So they left. They went searching for something, anything that would give them sense of purpose. Long story short that's how they found their bestie Romania <3

🧸 What would their younger self think of them now?

Romania - she would be proud. She will become Lord of AvLee, ride dragons, lead armies, and keep her hair long?! Amazing! She would be sad to find out her and Jeddite won't work out in a long term, but she was ready for it. Jeddite was always supposed to end up in service of Alamar in Nighon, and she knew that their relationship may not survive the test of time and distance.

Jeddite - he would be happy to see how powerful he will get. But that's all. Besides that he would be mad, terrified and heartbroken. What do you mean Sandro will become a Necromancer, you will stop responding to Romania's letters, you will commit war crimes in service of Alamar and you will loose your sight?! I would never let that happen!

Andreé - they would be happy and relieved find out they will find purpose and become a powerful healer. They would only be confused by how on earth will they get so deep into politics that they will end up aa a right hand of a Lord of AvLee??

This and being and work today got me thinking some more Roddite.

Romania was bitter towards Jed for the war, but it was a minor issue. She knew he wasn't fully in control of the situation. He was fullfiling his role as Alamar's warlock and advisor, and she wouldn't stand against her lord as well. Alliances change, wars start and end. This was politics and nothing personal. Besides he wasn't on the front, she never had to straight up fight against him, so this helped her separate politics and relationship.

But what if he was on the front? What if Jeddite led Alamar's army to Erathia, fought on the border of Erathia and AvLee and his army clashed with Romania's?

Oh, she would never forgive him that.

Anyway I think I have another Roddite AU. I call it "Most Toxic AU".

❤️7. What would others consider the most attractive part of your OC?

Depends who you ask, but she is absolutely stunning to people who love tall, toned women with scars (Aithan)

Someone enjoying more conventionally attractive types would say it's her freckles and nice pair of boobs

Jeddite

🧡1 How would your OC describe themselves as a child?

"You don't need to know that about me"

But if somehow you managed to get that out of him, he would call himself "way too stubborn, nosy and annoying brat". He's not the biggest fan of children. Also the type of person who think about something embarrassing he did as a child and cringe because how could he be so stupid and not born with intelligence of an adult.

🖤7 How well does your OC sleep?

With lots of paranoid nightmares. That's normal for someone who went through such horrors - wars, betrayal of his friend, losing his sight, fumbling a beautiful woman. So he is often having tough nightmares about betrayal, people around him turning against him.

(I also think about making him shizotypal which would add to having lots of vivid dreams/nightmares)

He tries to knock himself out with alcohol. The fact that he is blind and can just turn off the vision spell also helps.

💛5 Does your OC have a strict morning routine? If so, what is it?

Since he became a father, he liked having a proper routine with his kids. It was rather simple - everyone get up, quiet to let mom sleep in, clothes on, breakfast in, go to your master (as the kids got older they were apprentices in local priests/druids/whoever was there.)

Then in the Black Temple he quickly adapted to the morning routines of the demon hunters, the planned meals, morning trainings.

When the war with the Legion was over and he retired in Val'sharah he adapted a new routine: get up early, go to the nearest village to get some fresh baked goods, go back, wake Emmigosa for breakfast, feed Hearthstone (his mount) and the Dreamrunners that like to visit his house, wake Emmigosa once more, prepare breakfast, wake Emmigosa for the last time, then also Kor'vas (she wakes up the first time) and then eat.

That was ofc before Dragonflight, where he went to the Dragon Isles with Emmigosa. Now life got more chaotic, as him and Kor'vas went to check on Aithan and Arivi after the destruction of Dalaran, and then went after the Void demon hunters to see what tf is going on. But honestly he is once more wanting to retire and go back to his routines. It's Kor'vas that drags his ass around the Azeroth and doesn't let him rest in his repetitive life.

💚2 Does your oc believe in the concept of luck?

They believe that everyone's fate is in hands of their own or others, but they are not beyond saying "man, bad luck" or "you're a lucky person, huh?"

💙2 Is your oc comfortable letting others see them cry?

Not really. They usually choke down any negative emotions, bottle it down, because it seems easier than to deal with them. Someone seeing them cry is embarrassing. Besides, in the political world it's better to control their emotions.

They don't mind their friends seeing them cry over grief or seeing something touching. They didn't hide tears on Emerie's funeral, mostly because it was a proper place to cry anyway.

Romania is the only person that they don't mind seeing them bawling theirs eyes out and wheeping like a child.

🩵5 Does your oc like to swim.

She does. She generally likes physical activities. Swimming or just sitting in water is very pleasant to her. Pegasi likes to chill by springs, so their raiders chill there with them. Even as a general this brings Romania to good old times of being a young raider and relaxing with her first pegasus, Achates.

🤍1 How much does your OC care about cleanliness?

She enjoys being clean, but being a soldier means having to deal with dirt for days, weeks, or maybe even months, so she is used to that. When she can, she enjoys baths because they are relaxing. She keeps her armour, uniform, and clothes clean to present herself properly, similarly with her hair - they need to be tidy and properly braided. She expects from her soliders to present themselves properly as well.

🤎2 What animal do you associate with your OC?

A belgian shepherd. Starts as a happy puppy but can be trained (or abused) to be an obedient, emotion-hiding, barking at command living weapon. Also since belgian shepherds are associated with army and police, this fits her better than, let's say, a border collie or a beagle. And better than a german shepherd since belgians are smaller and swifter.

I've heard of some dachshunds serving in the army, maybe that would be more fitting with her size...

💜7 Is your OC stylish? How much do they care about the clothes they wear?

He likes looking good, clean, and well presenting. He took care of his uniform while studying in Dalaran, but doesn't really stay in touch with what's currently in fashion.

Arivios

🩶1 How forgetful is your OC?

He has a bit of an issue with shrot-term memory because they get easily distracted. They also were never trained to think, so that also affected their memory.

Arivios can easily forget dates, medical informations, but they have a good sense of orientation and memory for things like roads, maps etc. He also remembers faces if there was a strong emotional association with them, but would never recognise, let's say, a shopkeeper outisde their store if he was there only a few times.

🩷1 Does your OC like traditional romance?

Absolutely. Despite struggling with his mental health, Aithan still keeps the romantic part of himself alive. He loves giving Arivi flowers, taking her to dates, surprising her with gifts, and he loves when she responds with the same.

❤️4. How important is the concept of strength to your OC?

Physical strength not really.

Mental strength? Very. She considers strength of will more important than any physical strength. That's what she mostly practices with the demon hunters, what helps them survive. That's what she admired the most in Medivh and Illidan - their determination, to keep going, despite everything. She knows that only her own will is what pushed her through the timelines for centuries.

🧡4. Is your OC a risk-taker? Do they take well-calculated risks or are they impulsive?

100% risk taker. They wouldn't be where they are without taking a constant risk.

It's also a mixture of years and years of carefuly calculated plans and of randomly throwing themselves under a demon's sword to protect a demon hunter. They like having everything planned down step by step, but absolutely would impulsively teleport to a Legion's ship and stear it into another Legion ship. Also with partner like Illidan, who loves to improvise on the spot and claim it was all part of the plan, Yulei quickly had to learn to do so as well.

💚7. How adaptable is your OC? Are they open to change?

Very. Their augmentation magic is literally based on adapting everyone around them and themselves to the environment.

The reason why he let the Void magic nest inside of him so easily is because his body is open to any sorts of magic entering it.

Less literally, Arivios is used to taking orders, executing them with no argument. Commander says "jump" they jump. You may say they have a lil issue with thinking for themselves.

Besides that, Arivios loves experiencing new things, new cultures included. So when he's somewhere new and hear "that's how we do x" he'll immediately be like "I shall do so as well!".

Unless it's something like "don't go there, it's dangerous". Then he will be there first thing in the morning.

He needs to experience the danger as well, no?

🩵6. Are your OC’s decisions influenced more by their head or by their heart?

No thoughts, head empty, follow the heart.

Like I said, Arivios has an issue with thinking for himself. He wasn't trained to be a Scalecommander, but a solider following orders. Emberthal tried to train him to become a Scalecommander, but then he left with Voraxian and Kalecgos to the Isle of Dor, got corrupted by the Void... so it's on hold.

When he tries to adventure on his own, it's way more often "do what feels right", than "think about your next step." They rely on instinct a lot.

Andreé

💜1. What is one of your OC’s biggest dreams and do they believe that dream will come true?

Generally Andreé tries not to dream too much. As a soldier, they learned that dreaming is pointless. They had friends who planned to return to their lovers and retire together, that died the next day in a battle. They had soliders bleeding out under Andreé's healing hands, mumbling about not being able to wait to see their children probably already walking and talking.

After deserting, the only thing Andreé "dreamed" about was escaping and surviving another day. Then another. And maybe one more.

It took meeting Romania for Andreé to start carrying about more than just the next day, but it still was months and months, and it turned from "let's survive another day" to "let's survive the next conflict, meet with friends in a tavern and have something tasty".

Sometimes they catch themselves dreaming about retirement, moving with Romania to a small castle and leaving the lands to a successor, like other Lords who managed to live to an old age. But they don't really believe in that ever happening. Tho they learned that maybe the point of dreams is not to fulfil them but to dream about them.

🖤4. Has your OC ever broken a promise?

One to Erathia when they deserted, that's for sure.

As a child them and Natalia promised to always stick together no matter what. But as they both grew older, Natalia became more skilled and promising, treating Andreé's worries less seriously, Andreé became more doubtful, they drifted appart. You may say they both broke that promise.

Jeddite

🩷5. Does your OC believe in soulmates? Have they ever thought someone was their soulmate?

Not really, tho it's not a strange concept on Antagarich. The concept that two souls were born to meet no matter what appears in different cultures, in different forms. Young Jeddite heard it for the first time as a teenager and thought "silly". But then as he grew closer with Sandro it started feeling more real. Was there another soul that could understood him better than his best friend?

Well, yes. Romania. That's why when he met her, that idea crumbled and grew anew. She must be the one, right? The soulmate!

But as he left, as the time passed, as wars broke out and alliances changed, he started hating the idea. There is no such thing as a soulmate. Because there is no way he fought against both people who he considered his possible soulmate. There is no way he fucked up so royaly that he destroyed what even the universe provided him.

🩶6. What is one of your OC’s happiest memories?

Being chosen as Ethric's favourite pupil.

Ethric agreeing to teach Sandro and take him with them as well.

Romania taking a breath after he ressurected her.

🖤6. What does your OC have nightmares about?

Dying. A lot. Nightmares replaying the situations where she did die or almost died, potential situations where she avoided death, unreal situations that could never happen, like being trapped on the bottom of the ocean.

It's not as bad as the embarrassing ones - she has nightmares about choking on food, slipping and falling down the stairs, being trampled by a horse etc.

There are nightmares about her close ones dying as well, and her being helpless. Countless nightmares repeating Emerie (her dead apprentice) death, scenarios creating the circumstances of Jeddite's death, when she thought he was dead. Nightmares both about Sandro dying and killing her.

🤍5. Has your OC ever upended their life and restarted from square one? If not, have they considered it?

No, not really. From young age she was trained to become an officer, there was never need nor desire to end it and try something new.
