#oc: mockingbird

Another HSR OC to add into the universe @i-am-a-fan @kqloveshorses and I are building up brick by brick, and this time, it’s an antagonist~?

so, first up- Nexu, Chitchat, and Mockingbird (Mo) Nexu's albino- when creating millions upon millions of identical men, genetic abberations are bound to occur, and Nexu got the short end of the one-in-20,000 ish statistic that is being born with albinism, Granted, in clones that statistic is probably infinitesimally smaller, but it would still happen, like every other genetic anomaly we see in TCW. When they were very young, Kaminoans and trainers attempted to separate Nexu and Chitchat from the rest of the batch due to their abberations, but Nexu ended up biting down on their trainer's hand hard enough to leave a scar, which lead to them being spared and named (Their trainer had a funny attitude towards self-defence). Eventually, due to Nexu's not-great eyesight and iffy depth perception for longer distances (Albinism doens't just affect pigment! There are like a dozen side effects), they were put onto the medical track and separated from the batch. Due to that, and the fact that being out in the sun for too long gave them crazy sunburns (lack of melanin, yay), Nexu were grounded on Kamino, and since the Kaminoans did Not like him, he was basically put on autopsy and mortuary duty, which meant he was very, very isolated outside of a few other workers there, and dead bodies. It made him very Odd, and very bad at socialising. Their outfit is based off of the one time we see clone medics on Kamino during the chips arc, but with some little things I added on. They don't have a set of armour until after they get brought into Stardust.

Chitchat has poliosis and heterochromia, his genetic abberation being pretty much just aesthetic, so he was let off easily once he proved himself to be just as capable as anyone else. He's very extroverted and social, which is how he got named later during his training years (Since he wouldn't shut up). Most likely out of the group to get blackout drunk at a random bar during a break. The scar over his face came from one of his first campaigns, and Siren/15 has a matching one that took out a chunk of his ear. I'll do more on Siren when I draw him + Rattle which will be the. next/reblogged post for these guys in like a day or two or sumn.

Mockingbird is outgoing and has a pretty dry sense of humour, they got their name due to mimicking other people's voices, which included inflection, tone, and specific way of speaking. It's very uncanny, and they unnerved a whole lot of people before toning it down. They found it extremely funny, to say the least. Their armour is supposed to show off false eyes, like some butterflies and birds do- though whenever they get the chance, they take most of it off. Mockingbird usually goes just by 'Mo', and uses they/them pronouns. They started experimenting with gender pretty early on, becoming fast friends with Kyanari, and now they're pretty much the only one who knows how to properly take care of their hair. Also them and Chitchat got matching piercings.

They were all very happy when Nexu joined back up with the batch, though there was a collection of mixed feelings about the whole ordeal, due to Rattle's 'death' being very recent, and some (particularly Siren, who was closest to Rattle) trying not to use Nexu as a replacement for their lost batchmate. Nexu really struggles to fit in, not really used to being around living, breathing humans, but finds community eventually. He gets glasses too, to help his iffy eyesight, and though he does get his own set of armour, he doesn't really use it a whole lot.

EMPTY Encounters of the Archaic Sort • Abeyance (AU)

It reminded me of when I had gotten off of the teacup ride during my first visit. A desolate, destroyed, and empty carnival ground. But this time, the trash had been buried. Rides were overgrown. And the air of fear and suspense had vanished, leaving something indescribable. 

HEAT A Ghost, a Quill, and a Mockingbird • Chapter 6

Though it is not a tomb for them, as one might expect. It is a tomb for another, older presence. A once living planet, a celestial, left to turn cold and weary within the stone walls of a suffocated world. Quill runs gentle fingers along the worn inscriptions of an ancient sphere, tracing its patterns like clockwork. The energy within has dimmed since she has last visited. She has known it would happen, that the life would fade out of this place too, but she is much less than prepared for it to happen at this moment.  Limbs stiffen as she presses her palm harder against the rapidly cooling stone, heat escaping and draining through the ground, away from her. It takes all her strength not to break, to press her body against the one connection she is losing.

TREE (tw: animal death, poison, violence, grief) Snippet • Aritihne

Eros gasped as a sharp wave of distress pounded through their chest and Aritihnes cry echoed through their head. They immediately stepped away from the tree they had been infusing, vanishing in a puff of pink smoke, and honed in on her energy. Instead, a different energy filled their senses and they snarled; Alchios was here. It only took a few moments before they appeared nearby. They scanned the situation, eyes widening with realization before they swapped vision with Aritihne to very clearly see Alchios injecting her. Their nail had plunged deep into her neck, aura pulsing as their poison infected her. Her veins bulged a sickly green as she spasmed and cried out once more. 

CHANCE Arcane • Draft 2 • Chapter 1

By now, Maitera had ascended into the night sky. Auris watched a faint light spark from an upstairs window and made their way across the moonlit lawn, giving a respectful nod to Maitera in the hopes they would not be seen; they had not yet perfected their personal veil when it came to movement, and they were not going to take chances. They headed toward the side entrance, reaching it without consequence. The family had always left the side door unlocked for the staff. 

REMAIN Snippet • Drunk On Life

A squeak escapes her lips as they pull her along with them. Their hand caresses her cheek, running feather-light fingers against her skin and causing her heartrate to jump, and then before she can move, they have leaned forward to brush the merest whisper of a kiss against her lips. When they do not continue, she pulls away. A tingle spreads across her lips and her rune pulses softly with Eros’ energy in time with their heart. They scoot down to rest their head in her lap, purr as strong as ever, and soon, they are asleep. Her hand finds their hair and she plays with the silky smooth strands, relaxing despite herself. For now, she is content for them to remain asleep in her lap; questions can wait until later.

TRUE Snippet • Knight

After a quiet moment, Solace speaks, "Someone seems to have wanted to see you again." He stands, then. "Perhaps I should leave you two alone?" Auris doesn't respond; their gaze hasn't moved from the being's face since they'd first looked toward him. They are hardly aware as Solace moves away, true to his word. A quiet falls. Almost as if the world itself is holding its breath along with Auris. It is all they can do to watch the man breathe. A reminder for them to do the same. 

GUESS Snippet • An Idiotic Plan

“Listen, I need you to be on board with this idea, okay?” “Well guess what’s not going to fucking happen?” Sirieve stared down at Asimina, her expression one of disbelief. There was no way she was going to help Asimina raid the royal cargo ships. It would be much too dangerous, and Sirieve was rigid in her unwillingness to put Asimina’s life on the line. Sirieve didn’t think she could handle the guilt and pain of losing her.
