this is a lil fallen london sideblog for my light fingers pc: brine patchfelt!!
brine came to the neath to learn the shapeling arts, and approached it in an extremely headstrong manner--they learned they could boil amber and apply it to their skin to do so, and immediately began with no further guidance. this led to a lot of pain, suffering, scarring (primarily from rips in the flesh) and death. they coped with laudanum (and quickly developed a less than laudable addiction) and have been persisting in their self-study, bandaging any parts of themselves too fucked up to be seen by polite society.

their stupid amberbath permanently fucked up some muscles in their upper left arm and leg leading to anything strenuous causing pain. plus also chronic bouts of it. this never goes away but they get some better painkillers they take each morning later on. as such i am also giving them a cane for occasional use
their official endgame is just opening a bar of sorts somewhere in spite and working as a semi-powerful underworld contact!! drawing inspiration from the crime boss au but sliightly less extreme and unethical
im removing about half of brine’s random body scarring! aiming to give each scar a lil explanation! this being said their weird lil ventriloquist dummy scars going down the corners of their mouth are staying despite their reason no longer fitting the character brine has become! i just think they’re sorta iconic
there’s of course the aforementioned ambergurgle. but also their speech is gonna be slightly more crude!!

super late to the trend but!! oc type bingo for brine!
brine is now a licentiate!! well. as of like 4 days ago or something. i just hadnt gotten to writing about it until now
they’d been working as a bartender at the medusa’s head and some other small joints (when they’re not getting fucked up with amber, mixology is their passion! they even prioritize flavor over intoxicating effects surprisingly!!) for a good while now, and with working at the medusa’s head criminal opportunities are certain to arise. eventually they have a consistent side job in the production and masking of poisons.
this is all to say brine’s interest in being a licentiate isn’t for the killing but the production of poisons!! i imagine it would be rare for them to go out and deliver doses of poison themselves, but they’d just make, supply, and experiment with it (oftentimes on themself for less lethal and more intoxicating types of poisons…)

Finally theres @chaoslinych's darlingmost Kys as of rather recently!!! They're so very gay and a little doomed for each other. Also in desperate need to make more content of them......

@neathbound-fiends' Florence was the very first talked-about character interaction I had with Brine I believe! She treats them nasty from time to time and they pay her for it. Brine is also friends with his Elliott (who i love oh so very endlessly much) but also has the biggest crush on him because he's the biggest lil sweetheart in the whole wide neath
@the-discombobulated-devil's Jonah has been luring Brine into the brass embassy with her... seeing where that will go :3
