Music for The UnTitledverse & The Silver Chronicles, a WIP Wednesday for my House of the Dragon WIP called The Thorned Crown of Iron Thrones and an OC Meme Template for A Radioactive Calamity of Love, Bombs & Gore. Listen and read below the cut:
When Alexander escapes Wellington Wells in Ain't It A Joy?, he makes it to America where he comes across the early beginnings of the Project at Eden's Gate, and joins them especially when they move to Hope County, Montana. From there, he'd stay under Jacob's ranks, where he'd climb up the ladder and eventually become one of Jacob's most elite Chosen, earning himself the moniker of the first "Chosen Extraordinaire"; in a way, becoming Jacob's most trusted yet unspoken "right hand". Alexander had initially admired Jacob, and despite the years, still does (and relates to him in a way with similar dehumanizing experiences that irrevocably changed their worldviews and themselves), although he disagrees in some ways with Jacob's methods and viewpoints. Alexander is in agreement that weakness must be weeded out and culled, but he also believes that first weakness must be culled in an "ego death" sort of way, before a physical death (which he believes is overkill and a waste to do first). Alexander doesn't like how disposable they're making their soldiers, and encourages camaraderie, as he believes strength comes through unity. Alexander is also aware that Jacob is passively death-seeking in a way; that he wants to be Joseph's "sacrifice" in a sense, to show how much he loves his family, and leave them in the good hands of his most capable soldiers, which in a way angers Alexander; he believes a leader should be alive to see the fruits of his labors, to be there alongside his brothers and sisters, arm in arms, to be willing to fight and, if necessary, die together for their cause. And Alexander doesn't like the idea of being completely under Joseph's thumb, as he doesn't ascribe to the Father's doctrine as much as the rest of the Chosen do, and only joined Eden's Gate cause he agrees that the world is on its way to ending (especially after the WW3 scare in Call To Arms) and he personally wants to be of service in safekeeping as much people as possible. Alexander, while respecting the hell out of Jacob, has prepared a loyal following of his own in the event Jacob strays from being a "true leader", and is actively seeking someone he finds worthy enough to replace Jacob's leader role, as he doesn't have aspirations fill that role himself (he's happy to be the second-in-command who leans over to his commander's ear and whispers suggestions while making the display look ominous to everyone else).

Jester is the main secondary antagonist of The Perfect Storm saga of The UnTitledverse, acting as a kind of "rival" towards Calvin Dearing, one of the three main protagonists of the saga. Jester's grudge against Calvin stems from events that occur in the Jagged Fractures Novelization; one of Calvin's distant descendants essentially ruins a deal Jester had with powers above him, leading to a huge fumble on Jester's part. However, since he's forbidden from enacting vengeance against this particular Dearing descendant by the Time Bureau Authority, Jester instead travels through time to take out his frustration and hatred on Calvin, who is something of a numerous-greats-something distant uncle from the 1930s. At first Jester makes a deal with Terrence Carmine, Calvin's former employer, to murder the man in exchange for a fortuitous and rich future for his family line, so Jester can claim Calvin's soul and lock it into a purgatory to torture the man. When that eventually fails, Jester goes seeking for Calvin's escaped spirit, and begins invading his dreams (as part of a leftover deal Jester made with Calvin's descendant before the great fumble) to implant ideas of self-destruction and eventually a kind of "suicide" deep into Calvin's subconsciousness, but is luckily driven out by Calvin once he catches wind of Jester's presence in his mind.

And lastly a song for little Azriel, or specifically, her change from Aria to Azriel Omar, and how that reflects Silva's own journey of change from Sylvester to Silva Omar. Like mother, like daughter, Silva and Azriel share a lot of experiences. As Aria, Azriel was born in a very conservatively religious family that was judgemental at least-best or neglectful at worse, one that would later on begin going to Eden's Gate' sermons, leading to Aria's parents converting to their own understanding of that faith. They'd subject Aria to performing practices of Eden's Gate' faith, which she never took to, but they would continue to force her to practice anyway. Her parents would become so fanatical (a change that scared Aria as she couldn't even recognize who her parents had become) that they'd pull Aria out of school and attempt to home school the girl themselves using whatever resources they'd managed to get from Eden's Gate, hoping to convert Aria to the faith so her soul could "remain pure" from the temptations of her outside the box thinking. They disliked Aria's growing ingenuity and draw towards tinkering, viewing it as a "concern" from what they believed a girl her age should be doing. Aria's parents did not get the memo when the Reaping began, and found the county to be in an active war zone while they were locked out of Eden's Gate sanctuaries (which grew slimmer and slimmer as Silva retook more and more outposts, forced John's Bunker into complete lockdown after his "death" and destroyed Jacob's Armory). They realized that the only way to prove to the Father that they were worthy of passing into the safety of those gates was if they sacrificed something holding them back, anchoring them to the sinful past, blocking them from a pure and promising future... something like their non-believing daughter, Aria. Fortunately, she'd catch wind of their plans, and with the final confirmation that her life was really in danger, she'd make a run for it (with her parents trailing after her), where her path would cross with Silva's own, running straight into the deputy. Once in Silva's care, she'd experience the first genuine love and care of a parent that she's ever had in her life, and a mother who encourages and shares some of her interest in tinkering too, and gives Aria the opportunity to shape herself into who she wants to be; a change that doesn't necessarily have to be set in stone, but a start for her to grow into someone not of her birth parents expectations. Hence, she chooses to change her name to Azriel.
As stated before, Azriel and Silva share experiences that lead them to a journey of change. Silva and Azriel are both daughters born under an unstable and conservative fanatically religious households, they ran away from their abusers young upon realizing their lives were at stake, under a short amount of time they latch onto the one parental person who treated them with their first experience of sincere love and care and join their adoptive parent's equally loving and caring community (which has a few tolerable bad apples here and there) whom encourages their inventive tinkering, both had became fast friends with someone of similar age to them (and of whom would grow to become their first ever crush/first loves), all the while a conflict is ongoing. Furthermore, interestingly, Sylvester accepts her nickname "Silva" as her true/new name/identity after the loss of her daughter Persephone, and Aria changes her name to Azriel after being taken in by Silva as her charge/daughter. Both also, unfortunately, share a loss of siblings they'll never meet or get to know (for Silva it's her elder brothers & sisters/predecessors whom Adam murdered, while for Azriel it's Persephone) and are also elder sisters themselves (Silva's younger sister being Elsa, and Azriel's being Mercy). And to stretch even further, the source of their deep-seated issues is primarily a figure who have a titled of "Father" in their name: Silva's biological father is a prophet named Adam Omar, and Azriel's "spiritual" father (whom she does not accept) is Joseph Seed, who takes a particular interest in having Azriel lead New Eden during Old Dusk. One major difference between the two is that no one attempted to kill Irene for getting with Silva during her time with the Tumultite Community and Silva approves of Azriel's relationship with Schrödinger so she doesn't try to sabotage it. No, 9-year-old jealous Azriel did in fact try to assassinate/sabotage Faith's relationship with Silva on her own accord, because she didn't like the idea of sharing her new mom, nor of a Seed banging her new mom either.
Anyway, I also like how the lyrics in "Dog Days Are Over" reference the "horses coming" [EDIT: That's a certainly quote to take out of context] because Joseph's prophecy makes references to the "white horse" as well as the several loading screen quotes of the four horsemen of the apocalypse on their horses. And it makes sense for Silva in particular, especially for the "you better run" quote cause one of Silva's fears is the Collapse happening and proving father Adam right all along, hence her vehement rejection of Joseph's prophecy and her insistence to herself that the Tumultite Massacre she survived was in fact that very prophecy that came to pass and not the Reaping she's found herself in. She's literally running from the prophecy and, in a way, her place (and "accountability" in her own guilt-ridden mind) in said prophecy.

Short WIP Wednesday piece for my first House of the Dragon WIP called The Thorned Crown of Iron Thrones from my Life, Despair & Monsters series. Definitely will rework a few things when I can. Here is a young Caecilia "Cecil" Royce (Daemon and Rhea's sole daughter) at her mother's funeral. While she tries to keep her cool, she's a royal mess on the inside, a sharp contrast to Corvus (Rhaenyra's older adopted brother) being a nervous wreck on the outside. Her uncle's there as a comforting anchor but it will be overshadowed by Daemon's arrival later:
Cecil felt a weighty hand on her lithe shoulders, taking her out of spiraling thoughts.
She glanced back, her violet eyes ready to skewer the audacious stranger with a sharpness that belonged to the mother who laid blanketed before her, only to lose all fight upon matching with the sorrowful eyes of her good uncle, Gerold.
He'd been a constant presence throughout her life, especially since for years Daemon would rather be with his actual family in King's Landing, or travel around the kingdom, indulging in whores elsewhere, insulting mother and their house, or of recent news, partaking in the war on the Stepstones, than spend a fraction of his time living in her life. All the more better for it, her mother would say.
Had said, she corrected herself.
She leaned in closer to Uncle Gerold's warm body, unable to stop herself from shaking. She didn't want to be here, in front of mother's covered and still body. She wished she could at least see her face, to confirm for herself that the body before her truly was her mother's. But the Gods saw it fit to deny her such a wish too, as if the Stranger claiming her mother wasn't enough.
As she'd been told, a result of the accident left her mother's features beyond all recognition. And with how the cloth dipped unnaturally from the jaw to the forehead, she could see why her relatives were adamant in their refusal to let her see mother alone when her body had been first recovered.
She found her hands were gripping onto her uncle's garments, burying her face to muffle the quiet sobs that she tried her darnedest to hold in.
She felt one of Gerold's hands find its way to the core of her back, rubbing a soothing circle as she silently wept into him. A gesture he'd adopted from mother, no doubt. One of the few things that helped center Cecil's emotions, whenever she was upset or frightened or suffering from the blazing temperance she inherited from Daemon.
