Raqim
art by @/mellifera38
fandom (or og story): Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous
full name: Raqim Ag Adar
gender: cishet man
pronouns: he/him
age: 27, give or take 77 years
species: human
race/ethnicity/class: Ethnically Qadiran / naturalized Rahadoumi (thus atheist) firewarden ranger
describe them physically: olive-brown skin; dark brown eyes; long, thick black hair usually wrapped in a tagelmust; trim beard; medium height (same as Seelah); more of an agile build than powerful; a bit of a snack without realizing it (he’s so busy trying to prove he’s Rahadoumi to the core he doesn’t realize his Qadiran features are attractive).
describe how they dress: In the field, he wears his Pure Legion gear in white with gold trim – a reinforced overcoat enchanted against divine magic, red sash, loose trousers, knee boots, white tagelmust. Off-duty as Knight-Commander he sticks to the same theme of white and gold with a touch of red.
favourite things: sweetened mint tea, spicy foods, nature/the outdoors, campfires, friends, dancing, taking care of goats, things that make sense like math, science and philosophy. Lately he’s developing a curious eye for shiny things, like heaps of gold.
least favourite things: cold, isolation, bland foods, senseless cruelty or disregard for life, things that don’t make sense like religion and demons.
hobbies: the outdoors – hunting, exploring, hiking; reading nonfiction and poetry
quirks: rarely smiles or laughs – instead his eyes twinkle; when plied with drink he is fire on the dance floor
what's up in the romance department (and if they're aro, are they in a queerplatonic relationship): my guy does have an eye for a beautiful woman. He was spurned in the past and acts more sure of himself than he is. He tries to make up for what he sees as his own deficiencies by making extravagant gifts.

Siavash
art by @/yoursarcastichorse
fandom (or og story): Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous
full name: Siavash Mirani
gender: cis gay man
pronouns: he/him
age: 32
species: half-elf
race/ethnicity/class: half-Kelish, kindred-raised, Andoren diplomat, Desnan bard
describe them physically: tawny-blonde shoulder-length hair with temples swept back in a manbun; lightly tanned skin; hazel eyes; fit but not especially strong or agile; comfortable in his skin; charming smile
describe how they dress: the pwotr bard gear in all its glory. Green striped pants, loose sky-blue tunic, sashes/belt of varying clashing colors, burgundy jerkin or embroidered vest, bracelets and/or decorative bracers, butterfly pendant
favourite things: guitar music, friends, parties, travel, discovery, freedom, whimsy, magic, Andoren wine, Aivu
least favourite things: Mendevian beer, oppression, cruelty
hobbies: guitar, travel, swimming, prismati
quirks: deeply interested in people, manipulative yet sincere; zones out while playing guitar
what's up in the romance department (and if they're aro, are they in a queerplatonic relationship): suffered a painful breakup of a long-term relationship and blames himself for it. Needs someone who is ok with his flightiness. And someone who sees past the “it’ll be fine” shrug and helps him keep it together.

Next chapter of If I Betray My Heart beginning to take shape
Inside, the Houndhearts’ wing of the barracks was all business. Not much chatter among the mercenaries as they saw to their kits, hunched on their cots oiling leathers and mending socks. Elan stood scowling over a beet-red recruit, counting out her push-ups. Seelah snuck up and called out random numbers just to mess with him. “Seventeen! Six! Twenty-one! Come on, give her a break now." “You think demons are going to give her a break?” Elan frowned. “Come on outside. Urgent Crusade business.” “Twenty more,” he barked, and then followed them out into a corner of the training yard, glancing uneasily from her to Raqim and back. “So?” “So, I’ll just get to the point. I got you something.” Elan removed his gloves and tucked them into his armpit as she passed him the little velvet box. “I’m already engaged, Seelah.” “Shut up and open it already.”

If I Betray My Heart - chapter 28
read on AO3
Seelah showed up for the secret inner circle meeting kitted out in full armor, Radiance at her hip. The Knight-Commander had sent word to come equipped for travel, and besides, with an atheist in command of the Crusade she felt honor-bound to fly the Lady of Valor's colors. Thrice polished, the flaming sword emblem on her breastplate gleamed proudly in the torchlight.
But the moment she stepped into the command room, and into the pool of pure luminescence emanating from the Hand of the Inheritor, her confidence drained into her boots. The angel gave her a solemn nod of his golden helmet, and suddenly she was excruciatingly aware of every scratch in her armor and blemish on her soul, most of all how presumptuous it was to be wearing Yaniel’s own sword in its custom-made scabbard as if she were some sort of Crusade hero. As she headed for her seat at the table, inside she was scrunching herself up small.
Thank you @ghostwise for the WIP tag! 💕 Something from the next chapter of If I Betray My Heart. Ah Worldwound camp.
Now that the campfire blazed he rocked back and sat with his knees up, watching it catch on the scraps of Worldwound wood, running hungrily up dry veins and wizened branches as if they were eager to join the rest of Sarkoris among the ashes. “Raqim,” Seelah said softly, reaching out to lay a hand on his knee. “You don’t have to do it alone.” He looked at her wide-eyed. Whatever he was about to reply, he was cut short as Lann stepped into the firelight. “Look what I caught. Supper’s on.” Seelah screwed up her face. “What is that anyway?” “They call themselves Neathers,” Daeran volunteered, arriving with a folding camp chair. “Descendants of the cursed First Crusaders who are said to lurk in the tunnels under Mendev. Some say they come up at night to hunt—” “—smartass aasimars,” Lann finished for him, squatting to begin skinning the rabbit-frog-chicken-creature.

The Empress? :) And The Tower in reverse?
Thank you friend 💕
The Empress - Who has been a positive female figure in your character’s life?
Siavash has been blessed with many. His mom, a much more interesting person than he gives her credit for; the old Desnan beekeeper down the street who gave him the nickname Lark and inpsired his faith in the Dreamer when he was a kid; his three older sisters, Zarin, Fatima and Leila, who challenge him each in her own way; his best uni friend & colleague Petunia Perrin who carried him through homework and paperwork alike. Mostly caring figures – as the perennial cute little brother he has had many moms to look out for him, which is partly what allows him to be so carefree. Which is... not great.
In the Crusade, women play a better role in his life. Seelah, a steadfast bff who cheerfully keeps his nonsense in check; Arueshalae, who arrives at a mutual understanding with Sia that helps them both grapple with guilt; Aranka, respected musician friend and nonsense enabler; Clenna, the teenage runaway who becomes his high priestess. In one AU, his friend @the-raging-tempest's Lariel, also on board with his whimsical side but who questions his assumptions in ways he really needs. And then there’s Aivu BFFFFFFF
For Raqim, not so many and it’s part of what’s wrong with him. His Ama died during the flight across the desert, and growing up he was closer to his guy buddies, Sami and Bardia. Then there was Maryam. She was a positive figure only in the sense that he put her on a pedestal. Not her fault but his feelings were unrequited, so he’s more embarrassed than anything else now. In the Crusade, Seelah of course <3 whose presence is healing in so many ways.
The Tower in Reverse - When has your character’s actions led to disaster?
Siavash - Blessed by Desna’s lucky stars during the Crusade, he manages to bounce back from every disaster stronger than ever. It’s only when he starts tackling more metaphysical problems after ascension that real (and large-scale) disaster looms. For one, underestimating how traumatized he is by the Crusade leads to much more existential scrapes than anything he’s ever faced before. Unleashing power no mortal should ever wield on the machinery of the planes like a massive monkey wrench.
Raqim – oh do I have plans. Pulling the rug out from under Seelah’s faith. And at the end of Act 4 returning to the Nexus camp to find everyone dead because he absolutely refuses to have anything to do with Nocticula. How’s that stubborn streak working out for you buddy?
If I Betray My Heart - chapter 27
read on AO3
“Well, if you’re going for a typical mortal dream, it’s definitely weird enough,” Seelah chuckled. Goat kids leapt past her legs and bounded up a mountain of dead demons. The Pathfinder guy’s lost daughter wandered across a neatly trimmed lawn and asked a duck if it was her father. Strange music and the scent of fresh-baked bread filled the air.
“I saved this corner for you,” the succubus said, fixing her with her earnest red gaze.
Seelah looked anxiously at the blank patch of dream. “I can put anything here I want?”
“Anything!”
That did the opposite of help. What do I dream of, anyway?
