for what it’s worth, andy has an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering, which he earned with surprisingly spectacular grades; fixing things is his passion, from cars to the humble kitchen sink, but working as a handyman in night city, while rewarding in its own way, isn’t enough to swim in eddies. thus, he has to work in a fast-food to make ends meet.
💯 HUNDRED POINTS SYMBOL — share three random facts about your oc that others may not know.
andy is actually a very talented pianist and owns a digital piano he got for cheap at a garage sale. he’s too shy to perform for anyone, even though bella would love to hear him play.
he once smuggled a pigeon in his apartment building, but it flew out the window only a few days later. nowadays, whenever he sees a pigeon outside, he hopes it’s his long-lost friend gregory.
as a kid, he wanted to be a first responder, a dream that was quickly snuffed out by his fear of blood and injuries. he still learned basic first aid stuff, which comes in handy after finley’s gigs.
💘 HEART WITH ARROW — what and/or who do(es) your oc consider the most important to them?
the most important thing to andy is their independence. as the oldest child in a large lower middle class family, they had to learn to be self-sufficient extremely fast to help provide for their siblings, working long hours as a teenager for a cheap salary. as an adult, even though they’re dating two people who could very well be considered wealthy, they refuse to depend on their partners’ money, even if it means struggling to get by.
🐶 DOG FACE — does your oc have any pets?
yes, i am aware animals are almost nonexistent in night city. yes, bella still has a pet fennec that she took in from the badlands, where she found it badly injured. she’s all healed now and her name is bonbon. she’s very shy around strangers and even finley, but loves andy to bits, which makes andy extremely happy.
🖤 BLACK HEART — has your oc killed or seriously wounded anyone before? have they broken someone's heart and/or broken someone's trust?
bella has killed a lot of people in the past, but her first kill was by far the bloodiest and most violent of them all. that same murder is the reason she moved from paris to night city in the first place. now, as a cunning killer primarily targeting men, she has, of course, broken hearts. she doesn’t care much for her targets’ trust issues once she leaves their lives. the only hearts she refuses to damage are her partners’ and alonso’s.
😓 DOWNCAST FACE WITH SWEAT — is your oc open-minded or stubborn? are they inquisitive or do they prefer to keep to their bubble of knowledge?
being stubborn in night city is the kind of thing that gets you killed, especially in bella’s line of work. she’s open-minded, though she does have a tendency to prefer her ideas over others’—blame that on her need for independence, only rivalled by andy’s. still, she’s very inquisitive, always willing to learn more, be it for a gig or for her own personal growth.
