Letters
Telrasi stared at the blank parchment, one hand being used as a chinrest, the other tapping his quill on the edge of an ink well.
The annual letter he sent to his parents in Morrowind was normally a simple task. But the last couple months had been insanely busy, so much had happened and changed.
He had turned out to be dragonborn and been swept up in a prophecy, was now archmage at the college he left to attend 3 years ago.
And met his life partner.
Glancing at the neatly wrapped stack that had accumulated for his grandmother, Telrasi wondered why he even bothered to write his parents anymore; they only become more distant each year. Telrasi was now the one to initiate nearly all communication for the last two years, since he had told them about seeing a flesh sculptor.
Yeah.. Why bother, if they want to know anything they can be first to ask.
Perhaps another to gahalma then, maybe she would like to meet in person for some proper catching up.
It would also be nice for Gore to meet some of his family. How could he be kept from someone so dear to Telrasi and he had “met” Gore’s mother, maybe Gore would enjoy being grand mothered a bit.
Telrasi chuckled at the thought; he adores it when Gore gets flustered.
Telrasi jumped a bit as hand settled onto his shoulders.
“Whoa, easy blood. Didn't mean to startle you.” Gore rubbed Telrasi’s shoulders in a soothing gesture before withdrawing and leaning against the desk.
“What’s got you lost in aetherius?”
Moving his papers aside to prevent ink being smudged Telrasi cleared his throat, “Well, you remember how family has been of topic lately.” Gore chortled, “Yes, I remember.”
“I was thinking it would be proper for you to meet some of mine, since I had met your mother.” Gore raised his eyebrows, “You want me to meet your parents?” Telrasi shook his and patted Gore on the knee, “No, not my parents. My gahalma, my grandmother.”
“Oh?” Gore gave a quizzical look, “Why not your parents, you think they won’t like me?” he jested.
Crossing his arms Telrasi leaned back in his chair and sighed, “I don’t know if they even like me...”
“Ah- Ahem. Sorry blood.” Gore shifted a little awkwardly,” What makes you say that.” Telrasi opened one of the desks drawers and riffled around, “For starters these-” Telrasi pulled out a stack of letters and sorted them into two piles.
He waved a half inch thick stack, “This is from the past three and a half years, the letters my parents have sent me. Usually in reply to mine.” He then tapped the pile on the desk, which was about three times the thickness, “These are from gahalma. Most unprompted, and she hates to write.”
Gore watched Telrasi blink rapidly trying to clear his misty eyes. “Shit.” was all he said in reply.
“Shit.” Telrasi laughed wetly, “Yeah, sure feels like shit.”
Gore stood and leaned down to Telrasi picking him up and putting him over his shoulders like one might with a sheep or goat.
“Oof- Gore?! What are you doing!” Telrasi tensed certainly not all that comfortable with the manner he was being hauled through their shared living space. Gore unceremoniously dumped him onto their bed, “What the fu-” Telrasi furrowed his brows as Gores finger were pressed to his lips.
“We are having hot mead and that last sweet roll.” Gore declared, he then turned and marched away.
Telrasi tried and failed to fight back his smile.
