Chinese Stripe-necked Turtle (Ocadia sinensis)
Also known as the Golden Thread Turtle, the Chinese stripe-necked turtle is an endangered species of Geoemydid turtle that is native to China (where it occurs in the Hainan, Guangdong, and Fujian provinces), Taiwan, Loas, and northern and central Vietnam. Chinese stripe-necked turtles typically prefer and inhabit low altitude waters sucha s ponds, canals, and slow-moving rivers where they will feed on a range of plant matter, insects, worms, and other invertebrates.
Currently, Ocadia sinensis is listed as endangered by the IUCN, this due to the fact that is facts threats from the introduction of red-eared sliders into its native range, collection for the pet trade, and hybridization.
