The aftermath. In June 1919, Frank Soden, an ex-member of No 60 Sqn, was posted to Cologne as part of the occupational forces in Germany. On arrival in the city he found this Nieuport as a trophy at the gates of the aerodrome. The serial number or other markings are unfortunately not visible in the photograph, but Soden’s comments in his accompanying letter home indicated that this was Nieuport 17 A6718 of D C G Murray who was taken prisoner on 27 June 1917 (L Rogers)
