Here is a video of the police decamping the protesters. This was hours before they handed out 15+ citations to peaceful protesters at Occupy SB at 4:40 the next morning. Please spread the word of the unjust and anti-first amendment police action, call the city attorney and ask to have the charges dropped against all protesters, and keep seeking justice!

No-camping law: It is illegal to camp on city property. Camping seems to be defined by sleeping. If there are only two property considerations in the legal/gov't framework: private and public/city, then if you do not own or rent or know somebody nice enough to take you in, then you MUST sleep on public/city property, and you MUST be cited, harrassed, or arrested by police. It is illegal to be homeless. It is illegal to get foreclosed. It is illegal to occupy. It is illegal to nap. It is illegal to escape a physically abusive relationship (not go home). What are our goals again?
Teach-In at De La Guerra Park as part of the ongoign Occupation of Santa Barbara
Professor John Foran of UCSB Sociology department will be participating in a TEACH-IN Saturday, October 29, at 2:30 pm. Professor Foran has written extensively about global social movements, especially 21st-century radical social change, development, climate, and globalization, and the global justice and climate justice movements, with special focus on Iran and Latin America. The book he's working on now is called Taking Power or (Re)Making Power: Movements for Radical Social Change and Global Justice. The format will be an overview of the topic followed by an open discussion. Bring questions and an inquisitive mind!
