svala x lottie { @ocean-eyesahq } / a mead hall for a drink
Spilled mead stuck to the wooden floors of the mead hall that lined the Winter Court port. The hall was warm against the whistling winter gale off from the choppy wine dark sea; golden lights from the fire spilled out into the inky black night. The pale snow swirled around creating snow banks as the winter fae folk tied off their boats before the storm rolled in. The dark came earlier and earlier, the winter solstice was fast approaching.
Lottie was sitting with old friends. She had been away from Winter lands for almost a year, patrolling the Winter’s trading ports around the coasts of Astralis. Her mug was filled with brown beer and her cheeks were rosy red from the warmth of the crackling hearth. Although it was hard to hear her friends over the drunken chorus of sea shanties, she was filled with hygge.
“Oi!” Lottie shouted so loud that some of the people around her quieted. “Svala, systir,” Lottie’s smile grew as wide as her face as she lifted her mug towards Svala. “Jois us, General!” Lottie lifted her cup up, and the whole hall broke into a rumbling of “Skål!”
