if you have done newsies halloween costumes (and even if you haven’t) i also wanna know your thoughts on rtc halloween costumes 🥺🥺🥺

OKAY YES YES YES!

Ocean: There is so much I can say for Ocean. I can see her dress up as a historical figure then get offended when people don't recognise her immidiently. On the other hand she could probably be Elle Woods (because they're so similar she says) or Rory Gilmor (again no one but Noel recognised her and she was on a point of going back home to change.) I can also imagine Constance getting her to do matching costumes which she reluctantly agrees to but complains the whole time.

Noel: Why of course a show girl of sorts! It's his day to cross dress and by God will he use this chance (is that even an expression). Noel being a Cabaret fan is basically canon. Well it is to me at least so he'd definetly be Sally or Emcee. Not quite recognisable but there are a few people who got it. Also him and Mischa doing a matching costume- Veronica and JD or Bonnie and Clyde

Mischa: Like I said he does matching costumes with Noel which he really likes because he couldn't be bothered to put his own costume together and also Noel is real happy to match. If they don't do it as a couple then he'll just buy a mask at some supermarket, put on a black hoodie and call it a day (he was the guys from Scream like tree years in a row)

Ricky: This kid was Spock. He loves Star Treck there is no way he doesn't! And he'd definetly be Spock. He tried to get someone to match with him but no one wanted to until Jane came along. He also probably dressed up as Space Age Bachalor Man (which only the choir got)

Jane: I'd say a spooky doll or a jester. She fits the vibe, though didn't really intend to make it spooky. Other then that she could be an Alien to match with Ricky or a character that really no one knows and that comes from some lost media that only she and two other people on different sides of the world still remember.

Constance: She always wanted to be a princess and to finally make her dreams come true she made a costume of Diana and even make those sweets that Diana would make to give them to the rest of the choir. Other then that I feel like she'd be a little embarrassed to really dress up but she did go as a bat or a cat. She also did 80's aesthethic once to reference ABBA

Bonus: Imagine them trying to do My Little Pony group costume (the human version of characters ig) Constance wanted to be Twilight but Ocean said it doesn't fit her and that she has to be twilight so- Constance was Pinky Pie, Ocean was Twilight Sparkle, Jane was Apple Jack. Then Noel had to be Rarity, Mischa didn't know what was going on but they told him to wear blue and rainbow so he could be Rainbow Dash and Ricky was left with Fluttershy.

Also some more thoughts on that because I have so much ideas you guys:

They always meet at Constance's and have a sleep over that Mischa and Noel leave earlier to go back to Noel's place and watch a movie. Which leaves just girls and Ricky and at first he though it'd be a little wierd but all of them always insist he stay because really he makes it entertaining.

Constance brings sweets to school and gives them to everyone, even the people she doesn't like all that much (at first her parents made her do it but now she really enjoys that.)

Ocean always says she won't celebrate this year because she's too old for that and that all her friend are immature but she caves both because of her fear of missing out and because it geniuenly seems like so much fun (every day after Halloween she swears up and down the next year she'll just stay at home and study with her pumpkin spice latte she doesn't really like that much)

Ricky's mom gives him Halloween themed sweets to school and his family decorates the whole house together. Ricky also prepares some spooky stories to tell to the choir.

Mischa uses this time to scare everyone in the friend group (but mostly Ocean because it's so fun to get her all angry) he once put a fake mouse in her locker and she didn't talk to him for almost the entire school day. (Like the hyper realistic cat toy he borrowed from Ricky)

Noel writes horror stories and always re-reads Frankenstein or Dracula around this time of the year. He also has his nails be Halloween themed and puts up small decorations in his room. And those strongly scanned candles that always make Mischa cough.

At school they spend the day normally giving each other sweet treats and pulling pranks on one another. And it's really not Halloween unless Noel attempts to sing Sexy from Mean Girls durning their rechalsal.

Then after school everyone goes home to meet at Constance's place later in the evening. Mischa goes to Noel's so they get ready together. He watches Noel do his makeup and sometimes lets him paint his nails too. Noel always plays Cabaret when they get ready and sings I don't care much like his life depends on it.

Then they all go to Constance's place and first go trick or treating (sometimes they have to take Constance's brother too because he has no one to go with.) they all go around the town for a few hours till they are satisfied with the amount of candy they got. Ocean always complains about anything and everything and Noel's teases her. Honestly it wouldn't be the same if she didn't complain.

Then when they go back they share all the candy and start with baking some muffins while gossiping and listening to music (usually Chappel Roan because Noel is the group's DJ.) The muffins are usually carrot flavored and the choir decorates them together.

After that they play some games and tell each other spooky stories (Ricky's are most creative and Noel's are usually most interesting but who really takes the cake is Jane because she never fails to freak everyone out. Mischa usually tells the plot of one of the Saw movies...)

Then it's late enough for Noel and Mischa to go home. They sit at Noel's room and he bring some popcorn and candies as well as Diet Coke with ice. He then has an excuse to complain about being cold and stealing Mischa's hoodie.

They put on a movie (Usally the Saw movies or Scream. Mischa's picks) and Noel gets to hug Mischa tightly when literally anything remotely scary happens.

Then when they're done watching Noel gets all silly because it's late at night and well he just gets like that with the amount of sugar he had and all. He'll usually either start singing, this time not putting much effort into it and mostly making it fun or he'll start a dramatic monologue when Mischa is over on the bed watching him act all crazy. Then they finally go to sleep and wake up late in the morning the next day.

Okay now what does the rest of the choir do? Well when they stay over at Constance's they have family dinner with all the Blackwoods and then put on a movie that's usually not as scary as the ones Noel and Mischa watch. Sometimes Constance's brothers join them so one of their favourites is Corpse Bride, Coraline (Jane's favourite) or Nightamre before Christmas.

When they're done watching movies they play some board games etc. It's Jane and Ricky against Constance and Ocean who hates to loose.

They go to sleep earlier then the boys but still very late at night which Constance enjoys because usłały her parents have her in bed by 9. So it's one of the few nights when she can (legally) stay up.

This is longer then necessary and also kind of more then you asked for but it's Halloween my guy so! What can you do? Nothing... also I didn't really proof read it or anything so sorry guys

Finally sat down to this one! Hey!

Blackdolls!

They watch spooky movies together! Jane got Constance into Coraline and now Constance makes Coraline themed cupcakes etc. And she's also terrified of buttons

Jane often gets invited to the Blackwood's house and just spends time with them. Like she never had her own family and so they kind of took her in. Constance's brothers think Jane's very cool.

Jane tends to be really forgetful when it comes to eating. Or more so she'll forget to pact her lunch so Constance always shares with her. Jane just really loves sweets and Constance loves to see her girlfriend happy so she'll always bring something for her.

At first Ocean was reluctant with showing Jane affection (publicly!) and struggled with internalised homophobia but over time she became more and more comfortable

Ocean is very protective over Jane. She'd never physically fight someone but she can be a mean girl if she wants to. If anyone tries to pick on Jane she'll appear right besides her and be all like "Are we gonna have a problem"

Also Jane loves gift giving. She's a little like a bird with this (let me explain). If she finds a pretty shiny rock she'll pick it up and go over to give to Ocean. And now Ocean just has a huge collection of everything that Jane gave her because she can't bring herself to throw them out. At first she got confused but now she just accepts the gifts with a quick thank you. But she treasures each and every one of those gifts.

At first Ocean tried to be the one planning their dates because as she claimed she was more organised but soon she realised she had no time to do it because of everything going on at school and so she let Constance do it. They both prefer it this way because Constance is very good at planning events.

Speaking of! Constance plans suprise parties for Ocean because she never got to celebrate her birthday (or at least not with the choir)

Ocean loves to show Constance off. She'll be talking with someone and bring Constance up like "And my amazing girlfriend-".

Rtc headcanons plz 🙏🙏

Ocean: Die hard Hamilton (musical) fan. She listens to it as a way to motivate herself to study and has it all memorised. She also watched the show more times then she can count and well since she loves history she made a presentation on him. She even wrote essays about Hamilton the musical just for fun and obnoxiously corrects anyone who doesn't get the facts right.

Noel: Cabaret fan! He watched it for the first time at like 9 years old which was far too early but he fell in love (platonically) with Liza Minelli and she has been his idol ever science. Monique is also inspired by Sally a little. He listens to the soundtrack a lot and lip-snycs I Don't Care Much in his bathroom at two in the morning.

Mischa: He likes Saw which is canon but he also loves Scream. Mischa is a horror fan and sometimes he and Noel have movie nights where they watch his favourite movies. He likes that a lot not only because he gets to watch Saw or Scream again but also because he gets to hold Noel when he's scared.

Ricky: He's a studio Ghibli fan. Especially the movies about cats. His favourite one is Cat Returns. It's the type of movie he watches after a bad day to feel better and even though some people find it childish he's still a big fan. He also makes fanart for it and it's actually pretty amazing mind you. (He also loves A whiskare away)

Jane: Coraline and Corpse Bride fan. She loves everything spooky and those stop-motion movies have the charm. She even made the Coraline dolls for all the choir members for Halloween. And dressed up as Emily for Halloween.

Constance: She loves Babrie. Yes the movie. It's pretty it has a good message and it's feminist what's there to not like? She got Ocean to watch it too and they both fangirl over it! Constance was also a fan of Barbie growing up so watching it was kind of nostalgic.

Crow Jane Doe my beloved! She gives Ocean all those gifts she finds. I mean of course shiny rocks and feathers like I already mentioned but also things she finds at a flee market. Like a spoon with a face of pope on it (an actual item that I own. I'm not even Christian but damn is it a good conversation starter) or some old jewlery

Whenever Jane is sad Ocean always buys her (vanilla) ice cream at a shop near their school

Jane is also often sick which bring us to two things: Ocean being teased by Noel about her other half going missing and two Ocean visiting Jane after school to give her the materials from the lessons and just tell her about her day

Their favourite place for dates is the Blackwoods' cafe. Jane usually gets herself a waffle or vanilla ice cream and Ocean has apple pie

They like to have sleepovers when they watch movies and Ocean puts on Hamilton. They love to dance to My shot in the background.

On those sleepovers Jane always cuddles with Ocean and usually falls asleep while they're still watching the movie (a documentary most of the time) that's when Ocean turns off the laptop and just holds Jane.

Noel loves to do Misha's makeup, sometimes He also paints his nails (often yellow and blue) that usually happents when they have sleepovers. Which is most of the days because Noel's mom is working late and Misha's parents geniuely don't care where Misha is.

They love to watch movies together. Noel usually picks things like Blue Angel, Cabaret or The Great Gatsby and Misha chooses old horror movies: all parts of Saw and Jaws.

The only people that know they're dating are the choir members and as much as Noel wants to come out he knows Misha would get bullied for it.

Perfectdolls

Ocean tried to deny liking Jane for so long. At some point everyone expect for her knew she liked girls. (Including Jane who assumed it was obevious)

Jane geniuely doesn't understand Ocean's obsession with all the extra school work. Which can actually help the other calm down because Jane talks some sense into her. She'll just stand by her side and ask questions. „Why are you so stressed over this it isn't due next month" or „It's for extra credit you already have straight A's don't beat yourself up over this." And it geniuely helps Ocean even if Jane is truly confused.

Ocean's family LOVES Jane. And Jane loves them back much to Ocean's annoyance. But at least her girlfriend is invited to all the picnics and gatherings.
