KATE!!!!! JANE??? JUST LOVES??? TOM??? SO??? MUCH???? like i feel the first time she met him and he said his name was mr. darcy and he was british she was just like “did i fall asleep on pride and prejudice again???” and tried to like smack herself away, hahaha. she was probably also like “though the last time this happened i ended up with collins. so is this an upgrade?”

but i feel like jane just loves tom to the ends up of the earth???? AND HE BRINGS HER COFFEE. PLS KATE I’M CRYING. she will be like “don’t you know the way to a woman’s heart is coffee? i fall more in love with you with each cup.” and probably laughs a little before disappearing back into her work with the coffee, haha.

also i feel like jane really tries to help tom with deadlines??? like maybe tom is more of a special interest writer and he can pick more of his stories and jane is always encouraging him to write about the charities he helps and the people he meets??? and when he’s running close to deadline she probably shows up with her laptop and helps him crank out articles??

AND TOM’S DATING LIFE. i can just see jane dropping into a chair at a table with tom and kara and is like “you guys date a lot. how? how do you meet people? how do you get them to ask you out? or go out with you? how do you make social interaction happen?!?” *drops head into arms* .... jane asking kara and tom for dating advice is literally my favorite thing and i hope they try to help her find someone to date, ahahaha.

I JUST REALLY LOVE THESE TWO ALREADY AND I THINK THEY’RE GOING TO BE SO CUTE????? AHHH I CAN’T WAIT. and tom is such a cutie. jane loves him so much <3333

because i’m lazy i’m doing this as one comment for all of you. since carrie and jane are roomies, carrie probably knows everyone jane works with. though if jane is friends with some peeps outside of work/they end up coming by the apartment, they probably DEFINITELY know carrie. and might know carrie from office parties and things like that since i’m sure carrie has been jane’s date to, like, all of those, haha. so since i’m plotting individually with ya’ll as jane, if you also want something with carrie/if your peep would be more apt to know carrie then here have an ooc post, haha

so, kate. these two might know each other??? since tom is friends with kara i’m guessing he’s around a lot and he’s probably met bobby at some point? i think bobby is far more trusting/nicer to people kara likes so these two could potentially ~get along (while kara’s around)? though i think bobby will also not understand tom’s charity love AT ALL because bobby himself is a charity case and could use money, hahaha.

So becca would have met tom when she interned @ the press!!!!! She def would have liked him a lot and ngl she probs had a girlish crush on him (can you blame her BC I can't ✌🏻️) like the face and the ACCENT and he's literally the best person literally all becca wants to do is curl up with him and wrap him in a blanket BC he's too precious for this world. also I feel like she def volunteered at something once just BC he asked her and she honestly was way more excited about standing next to him all day/watching his butt (s/o to hanging out with lissa way too much haha) than actually helping the poor people #facepalm

so i feel like these two definitely know each other??? since tom is bffs with kara and so is alan, these two might have lots of overlapping time spent with her?? and i feel like tom is definitely a guest at alan and kim’s party? yeah?

.... i FEEL like drea may be the only person on the face of the earth who actually straight up hates tom??!??? and like: I know what you are thinking -- HOW CAN YOU HATE THIS ACTUAL PUPPY but ... drea finds a way haha. I think that she’d hate how he doesn’t take his job seriously enough and she def knows that he often writes his pieces at the last minute (if he gets to them at all) and that frustrates drea SO MUCh!!!! she means to be editor here one day and honestly literally her first move would be to have tom fired (as well as like 90% of the daily press employees -- she def doesn’t like annie either and don’t even get me started on drew). 

I mean, I feel like if drea met tom outside of work, she’d really like him, but she def has tunnel vision while at work and if you aren’t giving work 110%, drea doesn’t like you ...

kate i’m in love with this friendship so much <3 did we talk about how long they’ve known each other? b/c I feel like it’s been a long time??? I can’t remember all you said about tom’s past, but I know that he’s british so idk how much of his childhood was spent here or whatever???
