Ocean Prey is the 31st Lucas Davenport novel from John Sandford (Rules of Prey 1989 was the first) “Coast Guardsmen are called to a suspicious boat but are killed before they can board it. The FBI investigates but gets nowhere. Lucas Davenport from the US Marshals is called in and brings his team including a scruffy looking Virgil Flowers...” There are not many authors who could write the same character for 30+ years and still make each book feel new. This is another great Davenport story. Over the years he has been a detective, an agent with the Minnesota BCA and now a US Marshal. There’s even one book with some flagback to his time as a beat cop. This story revolves around drugs and bad guys. And Lucas cutting through the politics to catch the criminals.
